It does what it is suppose to, but makes this clunky sound every few minutes even when I am not accessing it. Seems like the drive/disk is continuously spinning, which gets very annoying as it sits on my desk. I probably access files on it once or twice a day, but the thing keeps going like it is being accessed all the time. Really annoying.

Seems like the drive/disk is continuously spinning, which gets very annoying as it sits on my desk. I probably access files on it once or twice a day, but the thing keeps going like it is being accessed all the time. Really annoying.

My previous storage device (Non-WD) finally died on me so I had to get a replacement. After doing my research, I settled on this unit because it had the capacity I needed and the features I wanted. I haven't regretted the decision. This unit is faster than I thought it would be, powers on and off with my system as expected, and was easy to setup as a mirrored device for added protection. No regrets!

Your hard drive keeps telling me I have a problem with the RAID configuration and there is nothing wrong with it! Very frustrating, AND this on top of one of your Element 10TB drives losing a password and therefore I LOST ALL MY PHOTOGRAPHY!!! This may well be my tenth and final WD Drive ever...
The drive was unstable and 1 drive failed right out of the box
the device is very slow and the USB C not compatible with MAC
