I'm very happy with the 10TB Purple drive that I bought for my home PC-based home surveillance system. It's running fine so far with my initial three 4K cameras. I'm running Blue Iris on a Dell 7040 i5 SFF, storing only movement-triggered segments, so I should have plenty of storage for my planned 10 x 4K cameras.

ssd' hard drives are fast but still find the wd purple more reliable in the computer- i hate the fact one day i have to save everything on a ssd hard drive - this is in my book after trying their hd all the way back to the 486 era- when they came out this one not so long ago they went all out in making it the red black blue always let me down but i find this the only hd i use for backups internal or external i do use a ssd because of fast boot time but I wouldn't trust them with much more than that - no warning in failure and they are cheap seriously cheap- so my rating best hd wd makes - please do not stop making these-

I needed a hard drive to replace my Tivo hd. I was looking for larger drive and a something reliable. I know WD are very good drives. Purple drive just what I needed the ability to record over and over. They have great warranty and support. Everything working great no problems.
works well in the Night Owl survelience system I put it in. Not like the Seagate drive that came in it that died after just a few months.
looks like there's no wd official store to buy new products, but i have found this used 4GB hard drive in very reasonable price (not purchased yet)... but i wish to know if this drive if good for gaming (all day, with 100 load) or it's just good for storing video streams????
