Works great once its set up correctly in the bios. Installed alongside the oem wd_black m.2 and used the included acronis subscription to move my OS over to the sn850x. I had to reset the cmos to get it to boot, and had to reformat the original drove to stop windows from reverting my boot order. I was initially disappointed in my benchmark scores before realizing that the pci lanes are intertwined in a way that both drives are affected. Basically, it made my original drive appear much faster than normal and the sn850x slower than advertised in testing. In real-world use, its fast and stable though. The dashboard app is also nice to have as well. Mine is mounted behind the GPU with no heatsink and never reaches above 60° at full load.

It works perfectly with my laptop!
4 February 2023

We all know SSD is way faster and better than HDD. When i was playing video games like The Witcher 3 and Sword and Fairy 7, the loading time was like alomost 1 second!!The only thing I wanna say is to put compatibility info here so we all can know the ones with HEATSINK DONT WORK WITH LAPTOPS!! That's why i returned that one and bought this one without heatsink.

Not getting read performance as advertised.
28 November 2022

Read performance on a msi ace z690 is on par with the std wd850 which was a disappointment but write speeds were appreciably faster which will probably outweigh the short fall. I have both nvme drives installed running on pci4 bus using cpu lanes. Maybe driver updates would help. Game mode is on.

Noticeable speedup compared to PCIe 3.0 QLC
9 February 2023

I upgraded to the 2 TB SN850X from a same-sized PCIe 3.0 SSD from another vendor that used QLC flash. I thought that any modern SSD is fast enough by any reasonable standard, but I actually noticed a big difference launching programs, installing games, and transferring files to/from my NAS. My old drive would get bogged down and show high latency in Task Manager, while this model blows through everything. The heatsink is nice since I’ve had issues getting 3rd party heatsinks to attach securely and stay attached, their elastics would melt over time with heat. That said, I had to remove the motherboard’s included heatsink and do some mechanical finagling.

SN850X SSD w/heatsink for PS5
8 February 2023

This SN850X SSD 2TB gaming drive with heatsink is great . It fit right in my PS5 with no issues. I will be buying another one just like this one if or when I have too. I would recommend this to everyone if you own a PS5 and want to play right the SSD momory card. It was easy to use, and it popped right in place and works excellent!

Woah, this thing is a beast...

If you are coming from a Gen3 NVME, this is ABSOLUTELY worth the upgrade. I wanted to start with that because it's what held me up for so long -- Gen3 is FAST, and I just spent the money a year or two back... Gen4 can't be THAT much faster. Except it really, actually, is. Nice boost overall in snappiness with Windows 11, didn't have much lag before but now there is definitely none. Load times for games is noticeably faster, maybe 20-30% perceptually. The other thing that I worried about was copying my existing drive over seamlessly. I used MiniTool Partition Wizard (I have a paid version) and was able to copy my Windows 11 drive to the new drive using a NVME USB-C adapter from Amazon. Total time was about an hour to copy 500Gb.
