We were hoping that grilling technology would finally make it into the 21st century and this grill is exactly that. We bought one for our upper terrace off the kitchen and liked it so much that we went back and bought a second one for our lower terrace. I have to say that the assembly instructions were the best I have ever seen and used for any piece of equipment and the quality of the assembled grill is absolutely top notch. I had no trouble at all with the electronics setup and each grill paired quickly with an iPhone. I did add my own backup rechargeable power supply and that seems to work smoothly as well. Nice touch by Weber to include all the needed batteries though. We also bought a second probe for each one for maximum flexibility. Was disappointed with the construction and design. The back of the grill has an opening, that in a moderate wind, when the gas is turned to medium on all 3 burners, allows the wind to blow out the flame. So have to keep it on high in a modest wind, a waste of Propane and increased level of difficulty maintaining a proper temperature. I have purchased Weber grills since the 90's and own 3. The Kettle, a Genisis and a Spirit that is 6 years old which is why I purchased this new Spirit. This just seems to be less sturdy in it's construction and missing some features , like a regular mechanical thermometer. The electronics are ok , but the base BBQ unit is disappointing.

The digital display to tell how hot the grill is doesn’t work and the battery pack that powers was so hot I thought the batteries would explode. I made sure all wires were properly connected per the installation directions and also checked battery placement and still cannot get it to work. Wish this came with a regular old style temp gauge. This also means the thermometer the grill came with don’t work either. I don’t see this grill holding up long term like my last Weber that was 20 yrs old. Seems to grill ok so far.

Works as expected. Looks pretty good, but a few more cheap plastic parts than I would like, and expect for a grill in this price range. What was not expected was the enormous and lengthy assembly. Between my wife and I it took us over 4 hours to assemble, over two days. Additionally it was delivered on a pallet. So the delivery service just left it on our front sidewalk in the middle of the Philly, and I had to run home from work and take it inside in pieces. Additionally the grill does not come with a cover. (Another additional cost you will need to keep in mind.)I have not had a chance to use the temp. Probe.
My second Weber. First one lasted over 25 years. That's why I was determined that the new one would be a Weber again.I love the digital wireless technology, it makes getting the temps I want a breeze. For some reason ( maybe better design / components), it seems less affected by low temperatures than the "other" BBQ that I just tossed out ( it came with the house). It wouldn't get hot when it was 0C, or below. The Spirit doesn't seem to care if it's cold or not, it gets hot, and gets hot quickly. So, I'm looking forward to BBQing all year long!It was nice to get access to all the resources ( tips , recopies, etc.).Hope to get twenty plus years out of this one!
I was not aware of the extra hardware needed to attach the grill to the natural gas line leaving my house. The adapter from Weber does not fit. From looking at YouTube this is common with new construction. I just need time to write down the exact size and part to buy. Run to ACE hardware then my grill will be up and running. A little frustrating. Such a common issue you thing Weber would mention this help you prepare and be able to use the grill right away.
We love our new Weber Grill! Takes out all the guess work out with the integrated smart sensor and digital temp reading. Smart features are actually really useful! Definitely gives me the confidence to try out different meats/proteins. Easy assembly. Accurate cooking readings. Good size for our family.My only concern is how well the thermometer probe will hold up as it’s already burnt up towards the end of the metal mesh cord. It’s still giving us an accurate reading for now but I’ve read lots of reviews of it not working after a few uses so definitely concerning. I bought this grill on sale a month ago and was sceptical about the smart gill feature. After using this feature, over a dozen times on different cuts of meat, it has delivered perfect cooked meals every time. I appreciate that it counts down how many minutes before the meat will be done so that I can better time my side dishes. It remains to be seen if the smart temperature probe will last over time, however so far it’s been a wonderful change to the way I BBQ. One word of caution is the meat temperature probe gets extremely hot, so wear proper protective gear when touching and cleaning.
The materials seem flimsy. Who designs a grill that is outside that always looks like it needs it's metal finishes cleaned? The stainless was damaged...had striations throughout. I got this as a corporate gift so can't return it. The design is poor...the top opens up so high I can't reach to open it easily and am always afraid I'll burn myself it's so high, and I'm 5'5". My old Weber Spirit, close to 20 yrs old, was much better. Very disappointed.
We ha e had this for about 2 months now and used it several times. So far it is Worth the money. My husband didn't think this would be worth the price, but he likes all the additional extras about this grill. He really likes knowing how.much propane we have without having to pick it up every time to check. The black finish looks like it will last for years. And the grill cooks evenly. My only 2 little dislikes are that it doesnt wheel as smoothly as I would like it to, and the temp probe runs a little too high. But both problems can be tweeked with time.
