This Skin Food Light cream is my beauty debut with this brand. It's a multi-tasking cosmetic for dry skin care, I think it's just right for the current season. It envelops and soothes the skin, protects against cold and wind, moisturizes, leaves the skin soft and smooth. It brings immediate relief. It has a slightly yellow color and I sense lemon notes in it. I am currently using the treatment in ampoules with vitamin C and this cream works great after using the ampoules. It provides the skin with an appropriate level of hydration, without weighing it down, and is non-comedogenic. It is also perfect under makeup. It has a light consistency, is easily and quickly absorbed. It can be used in the morning and evening on the face and body or spot on dry and rough areas.

It is a very rich and emollient cream, so I was thrilled when they released a “light” version because I have combination skin that gets oily in the summer and the OG is very heavy for use all over my face. This is a lighter, fast- absorbing version of the classic that still offers instant hydration for the face and body. This product is literally food for your face. The product has a watery texture, which I wasn’t expecting especially for dry skin, but this made it really easy to blend into my skin. This product smells so amazing as well: it smells floral and unique but not in a bad way. My only complaint with this product is that you do not get a lot of it but I suppose the price makes up for it as this product is very affordable and one of the best drugstore moisturiser I’ve used in awhile! If you are on tretinoin, please do the sandwich method with this! I did it and it cleared all my acne and my dry patches in 1 month. I would 100% use this product again and recommended it to all of my friends!

My skin is extremely dry sensitive, so I need something that’s extremely hydrating. Now, this isn’t as thick and hydrating as the original obviously because it’s a light version. So if you have combo/oily skin didn’t like the original or thought it was too heavy, I’d highly recommend to try out this one see if you prefer this one more. I really love both of them will never be without them. I just tend to switch them out based on the seasons on how dry or irritated my skin is. Overall, I really liked this product was so happy I picked it up to try since I love the original so much. I’ll continue to purchase both of them just use them based on the weather outside. This one still gives a beautiful glow to the skin like the original, it’s just not as thick of a consistency not as moisturizing. But they are both amazing products to me one of the best drugstore moisturizers in my opinion.

Do NOT use on your face!!!!

I was in the middle of writing an essay but I felt like I absolutely had to stop and leave this review because I keep catching glimpses of my face in my desk mirror and it's making me really sad.I normally don't like to leave negative reviews. I also don't think this product is bad as a whole. However, I bought this to use as a face moisturizer because I liked the rich version (dark green tube) so much for my body and this one claimed it was ok to use on face AND body! This feels really nice going on and is definitely very moisturizing, but after about a week of smooth sailing it started breaking me out. It was only a little at first, so I assumed it was due to something else. Nope. The longer I used this, the bigger and more painful pimples got!!!!!!! Easier to use than the original formula

I have very dry, sensitive skin with adult hormonal acne that can be slow to heal. For reference, I tend to stick with basic moisturizers like CeraVe lotion or cream and sometimes Clinique Moisture Surge. I prefer this light version of Skin Food to the original because it’s very moisturizing yet less occlusive than the original. Still, I typically only use this on my face when layered after other products that tend to dry (like Differin/adapalene and benzoyl peroxide), or on its own when my skin is extra dry from other products or winter weather. I find it very soothing and, when I top it off with First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream on any irritated spots or healing acne, it really speeds up the recovery time of any breakouts. As for the scent of Skin Food, yes, it is strong—though no more strong than the overpowering perfume scent of most prestige brands of moisturizers—but I find it dissipates fairly quickly. I also like the citrusy scent, but I tend to prefer more “natural” scents in my beauty products and save the perfume smell for actual perfume.

Excellent!

I was a fan of the original Weleda Skin Food. This lighter version is perfect for the summer, and I like that the smaller 1 oz. size is perfect for the purse or backpack. Just a little bit is potent enough to moisturize and protect both hands. I like that it forms a little bit of a film to protect hands from moisture loss. The scent is similar to the original formula, but is a bit lighter and more citrusy. I love the scent, would probably use Weleda Skin Food forever as a staple in my skincare year-round.

Irritated my skin

I had heard such good reviews about this moisturiser and since my Cerave was running out I decided to give this one a try. Even though it’s light, it’s still quite a heavy cream. For some reason it irritated my skin a lot. I do have sensitive skin but this product was marketed as sensitive skin friendly. My face stung from it. I had heard such good reviews about it so I was quite sad, but unfortunately my skin was too sensitive it seems. It has a fragrance, and I googled it and it said the fragrances were all natural. Maybe the fragrance is what irritated my skin. I’m sure this product works for many, just not for my sensitive skin.

Absolutely wonderful. The smell is not too strong compared to other Weleda face creams, the texture is perfect, not too heavy, not too light. It is absorbed in not time and leaves the skin soft and perfectly hydrated, nourished without any stickiness or greasiness. I have mixed aging skin and have been having problems with mask/hormonal acne on my cheeks and it does relief the symptoms amazingly. Very happy with the results and the sensation it gives. The smell and texture makes it quite easy to use with other products, on top of a serum and a vitamin C cream, it helps sooth the skin and makes the vitamin cream less aggressive on my skin. Can't do without it anymore.

Same great quality as original, lighter for summer

I'm a huge fan of the original formula of Weleda Skin Food, but decided to try this lighter version for the summer. It moisturizes just as well, and smells really nice. Although I think I'll still stick to the original formula for the colder months, this is perfect for the summer. With all the handwashing we're doing these days, it's necessary to have a deeply moisturizing cream for hands. This is a nice lighter version for warmer months. My husband usually is not too picky about personal products but he loved this hand cream so much that he bothered to mention it to me - that's sign that he really liked it. All the more reason for me to rave about this product!
