Ive had blonde balayage for the past two years and was ready for a change during winter. I went with a dark blonde and mixed it with the lighter brown, my hair turned out black. My is is black with a hint of brown/reddish. I wanted to go dark gradually not at once. It’s been about 5 weeks and the color has not faded much, just certain pieces where I didn’t apply it perfectly. Only good thing was how shiny it made my hair. I wouldn’t recommend using this product unless you want dark brown/black hair regardless of what the box says. I’ll probably have to end up going dark with a permanent dye just to get even coverage. Super disappointing!

I am so glad I chose to go with Wella this time around! The color I chose (3vv/ dark violet brown) is almost identical to what was shown for a sample. I don’t dye my hair often so I try to get it right the first time. Application was a breeze (aside from the slight mess I made in my bathroom. User error. Oops) I’m absolutely in love with the shade and even tone throughout my hair. It didn’t smell chemically to me at all, yet not too perfumy like they’re trying to cover something up either. I have very thick and very long (to my butt) hair. I usually use a minimum of 2 boxes of color but somehow I was able to get maximum coverage with just one and a half. Even after doing that extra just-to-be-sure round on my head. I truly am in love with the color I chose. I ...Ā MoreI am so glad I chose to go with Wella this time around! The boxes of hair color offer this new color-coded packaging for "at-a-glance navigation and selection," which seriously makes finding your color so easy it's fool proof! Inside each box the color is packaged in a gorgeous teal colored metal tube (much like a toothpaste tube) with white text and a white twist top. The Cream Developer comes in an almost clear, frosted plastic bottle with black and red text on it. Honestly, its packaging really is very minimalistic, no real wow factor. Both the brush and bowl are simple black plastic, nothing is embossed or written on either item. The gloves included are, thankfully, not the plastic bag type of gloves. They are basic "rubber" gloves, nothing fancy...just something to protect your hands. Ok, let's get into the product formulas. What truly has me obsessed with this hair color and makes it so special is that the formula is enriched with Shea Butter! Shea Butter gives you healthy looking color with way less damage because the formula is A LOT gentler on ALL hair textures. Shea Butter is even believed to soften dry, brittle hair and repair split, damaged ends while adding shine to the hair....umm yes please! I mean seriously, who doesn't want that for their hair!? This formula is free of animaphthalatesl derived ingredients, ammonia, gluten and parabens. Not to mention it is EXTREMELY quick and SUUUUPER easy to apply! Which I think is a result of being able to apply this color to WET hair rather than dry so I feel it makes it soooo much easier to work with. Wella also makes a huge emphases on the color's ability to blend grays, gloss, tone, refresh, or enhace your color, and I really feel it did all those things. So to me you really can't go wrong with this color! It smells good, looks awesome, feels amazing and results last up to 24 washes (depending on hair type). I just did it so I can't agree or disagree with the longevity of the color...I will have to update. Also, if you happen to love your current color but just want to make it shine...the Clear shade adds MEGA eye-catching gloss to ANY COLOR...how awesome is that!? I haven't personally used the clear shade yet but are definitely going to in the future! At Sally's Beauty Supply each box of WELLA Colorcharm Demi-Permanent Cream Hair Color retails at $9.89 USD, 7.8oz bottle of 10 Volume Wella Cream Developer retails at $4.89 USD, plain plastic applicator retails at $1.99 USD, plain plastic mixing bowl retails at $3.59 USD and 1 pair of gloves retails at $1.09 USD. . HOW YO APPLY: • Mix 1 part (2oz.) Wella colorcharm Demi-Permanent Hair Color Cream to 2 parts (4oz.) 10 volume Wella colorcharm Developer in a non-metal bowl or bottle. • Apply color mixture starting at the roots, thoroughly distributing through lengths and ends. • Let the color develop for 20 minutes without heat. • Rinse the color out of the hair until water runs clear, shampoo and condition.

I’m trying to get my hair back to its natural color after experimenting with a different brand last year that left my strands extremely brassy. This brand has the closest shade to my natural color which I really appreciate. I enjoy the application and little extras that come in the box like the gloves, cap, barrier cream, and cleansing wipe. I was worried the barrier cream would be irritating cause it has a menthol scent to it, but it cleaned up nicely after I finished applying my color and didn’t leave my skin irritated. The color mix itself doesn’t have much of a scent which is a big bonus when coloring. The one negative with this brand is that the color fades from my grays rather quickly… as soon as one or two weeks. But I’m planning on growing my grays out soon ...Ā MoreI’m trying to get my hair back to its natural color after experimenting with a different brand last year that left my strands extremely brassy. The toner T18, lightest ash blonde, tones really well. The outcome is lovely. It’s really easy to use. I mix this toner with 20 volume creme developer and then apply it to my hair. It saturates my hair with a violet pigment so my blonde locks underneath look lavender due to the toner mixture. I check it every so often to my desired outcome. It’s easy to wash it out of my hair and I am left with soft and beautifully toned hair. The scent of the toner mixed with the developer can be intense. Make sure to be in a well ventilated room when doing the whole process.

I received these products for free from @Influenster and @wellacolorcharm in exchange for my honest opinion. I received the color 3VV #darkvioletbrown my hair has been bleached (as you can see in the photo) but is growing out, and my natural color is a dark brown/auburn color. I have a longer length hair so I received 2 tube’s of color and mixed those with the enclosed cream developer 1:2. It was easy enough to apply to my hair ensuring the roots and length were all covered completely. It needed to process for 20 minute’s before washing. The instructions say rinse until water run’s clear, well I was in the shower for over 30 minutes and washed my hair thoroughly but the water never ran clear. It’s demi permanent and will wash out every wash and soon enough my bleached hair will be light pink. I do want to say this did turn out much darker than I really wanted but it’s not a big deal, I’m older and I look washed out. I do love the color it stands out on the bleached area’s as you can see in the photo’s, plus my hair feels great!! While I was applying the color it did not have a terrible chemical smell either. #colorcharmdemi

The issues in my review are no fault of Walmart. My order was scheduled to arrive on Tuesday and it wasn’t delivered until Thursday. I am guessing USPS is to blame for the delay, it could be the seller shipped late too. I have an event to attend Friday (tomorrow) and wanted to use the product a couple of days before in case there were any issues with it. That didn’t work out. My hair had a yellow tinge to it from lightening it that I needed to get rid of before the event and this product was supposed to fix it. I used it as soon as it was delivered and it didn’t get rid of the yellow. I still have the yellow tinge and the nearest place I can go buy something to fix it is an 80mile round trip and I can’t get there before they close. This cooling violet additive is THE TICKET for preventing my blonde color AND/OR toner results from being too warm/gold/brassy for my liking. I even tried it with the famous T-14 Wella toner—the most ā€œcoolā€ tone of all the toners— after bleaching because sometimes the results from that toner are still too warm for my taste. (I like a nearly-silver tone with ZERO hints of gold.) No matter how many levels I’ve lifted, I still often get too warm of a tone. Adding just a capful of this cooling violet to my toner mix gave me the PERFECT tone I wanted. I will probably use this with every color or toner I put on my hair from now own. It costs the same as other Wella toners but requires only a small amount (I used about a capful) so you’ll get several uses from one bottle. ...Ā MoreThis cooling violet additive is THE TICKET for preventing my blonde color AND/OR toner results from being too warm/gold/brassy for my liking. So I bought this brand in T14. Dyed it on my 613 extensions. I did 20 developer and the double amount of toner. I left on 5 minutes…. My extensions turned green grey the ugliest shade. Never using this brand again. I purposely diluted the toner for it to be less harsh and still. I used 20 dev and double developer:toner ratio. Just buy the wella… Like it actually is the worst shade. When it turned grey it normally does that with wella the whole 30 mins so I didnt think it was actually grey but it was…
