I admit I was hoping for a spanner that would hold a nut (or a bolt) - as it's the usual expensive Wera brand, but it's more like a spoon - it'll hold a nut only if it is upright, but if you tip the spanner for a horizontal bolt, the nut will drop out (which is what I wanted it held for in a tight place). Also if you have little clearance and you get the nut/bolt in place, you may not be able to get the spanner off it when tightened. I'll go back to putting sticky tape over my spanners to hold nuts.

I bought two of these. They're not cheap. To the point that I could buy multiple cheap sets for the price of two individual spanners. That said and done, I wouldn't go back to the cheap ones now. As someone who installs industrial containment every day, these make my life easier, and as long as they don't break they're the best spanners I've used so far.

I've purchased one of these the other day from eBay as my other 10mm spanner broke, to be honest they have always seemed a little overpriced for my liking, I got a very good deal on this one and so very pleased that I have taken the plunge, it is extremely comfortable in the hand and on the wrist, the feel and quality of the spanner is absolutely outstanding, feels and looks like that it will last a lifetime, quality of the highest order and I will certainly be purchasing more to make a set of these spanners, most definitely worth the extra couple of quid to buy one of these over other makes in my opinion you certainly get what you pay for, and the nut setter in the open jaws is an absolute bonus when your fingers are cold and you have to try and grip the nut to get ... MoreI've purchased one of these the other day from eBay as my other 10mm spanner broke, to be honest they have always seemed a little overpriced for my liking, I got a very good deal on this one and so very pleased that I have taken the plunge, it is extremely comfortable in the hand and on the wrist, the feel and quality of the spanner is absolutely outstanding, feels and looks like that it will last a lifetime, quality of the highest order and I will certainly be purchasing more to make a set of these spanners, most definitely worth the extra couple of quid to buy one of these over other makes in my opinion you certainly get what you pay for, and the nut setter in the open jaws is an absolute bonus when your fingers are cold and you have to try and grip the nut to get it onto the thread, this spanner certainly removes the difficulty of positioning correctly and the risk of dropping it, cannot fault it in any way shape or manner everything is positive and the ratchet is outstandingly smooth! Cannot praise this highly enough ! Can't wait to get my hands on more of these certainly worth the money!
Nice bit of kit, Looks good and works well, I'd have given 5 Stars, but bought this to replace the one that broke in my set. I've no clue how it broke, just picked it up one day tried to use it and it was spinning, not ratcheting. I have now have concerns about the quality of the rest, but time will tell.
Dear but when one gets a good quality tool in one's hands it is easy to tell. The ratchet facility is something I had not encountered before in a spanner - brilliant... I will be getting a full set of these (when I win the lottery or maybe one for christmas for the next ten years!).
WERA items look very good, i fancied their spanners but thought I'd buy one to see what they're like. Glad i did as they are very bulky and very poor. Tried the 10mm open end on a 10mm brake nipple and it rounded it off. Slip a halfords 10mm spanner on and comes straight undone.
Probably the best designed ratchet spanners I've ever used. If you work with spanners everyday these are highly recommended.
I lost a friends, and bought this to replace the lost one. Im not a fan of Wera spanners, as not used to using them, but they are well built and the nut hold ability is a good. The ratchet is smooth a strong. Only personal preference puts me off these spanners.
Good ratchet mechanism and the open end has a metal plate to help trap a bolt head. Built to last.
