Our cat was loosing so much weight. This brand, and Press Your Dinner saved her. She loves it and gained back to her normal weight. Some reviews mentioned the texture, but our cats love it. Weruva suggested mixing with a little water, and we warm it a few seconds in the microwave which melts the fat and our cats really like that (just always test with your finger it’s not too hot!). The quality of this food far surpasses what we experienced with Wellness and Fromms - I have never found anything weird in Weruva like I have with those other brands. Our cats only eat pate and I’m so excited Weruva has these - literally a life saver for us!

My cats are fans of this and are only about 4 years old. They typically don't love pate. that said, this is almost like a chicken jelly. I mush it up in the food bowl so it's less a block of jelly. I will say that it seems to hold moisture much better which is helpful for my male cat to keep him hydrated as he doesn't love drinking water. However, this is also only 100 calories, which is low for a 5.5 ounce can of cat food. Just something to keep in mind.

My fussy cat enjoyed Weruva Lunch with Chicken. It was a pleasant surprise! She likes her food smooth, moist and paté texture. This was just right! I didn't need to add extra water. Will definitely buy again. Perhaps in a mixed box set.

My cat is incredibly picky and finicky to the point where I was pretty sure she just didn't like wet food. We literally tried one flavor of every single brand in the local stores. At mounds I found this brand and got a can of chicken & salmon and she actually ate it, so I decided to try this flavor because she loves chicken and has digestive issues so the pumpkin is really beneficial to her. To my surprise, she LOVES this food and even asks for it. She even eats it cold straight out of the fridge, doesn't need it warmed up! I'm sure every cat is different but I'm telling you, she's been the pickiest eater regarding wet food since we adopted her 1.5 years ago and this is the only one she willingly eats and wants. Her digestive system is also in a lot better shape ... MoreMy cat is incredibly picky and finicky to the point where I was pretty sure she just didn't like wet food. That was quite the pleasant surprise.
I own two cats rescued from Turkey. The first thing I was told by the Adoption Organization was that the most important health benefit I could provide would come from adequate hydration. For their overall health from digestion to circulation, hydration would be key.But cats are, as everyone knows, finicky. They don't generally like to drink water and are prone to walking away from many a perfectly wholesome meal. When I discovered a can of Weruva Pate Press Your Lunch Chicken Dinner on the Petco shelf, the word that beckoned me was Hydrating. The final test would be, naturally, whether or not they would like it. To my absolute joy, and despite their drastically different personalities and tastes, they both ate it up.Affordable and conveniently delivered from ... MoreI own two cats rescued from Turkey. My cat loves this food. He licks every last bit. It is hard to find wet cat food that doesnt have the synthetic vitamin k and carrageenan in it that he will eat. A lot of the brands are inconsistent with the texture and moisture levels. So far so good with this. Extremely happy that he loved it.
My 10 year-old rescue cats have eaten kibble as long as we've had them, but recently I decided to try to transition them to canned food because it is so much healthier for them. I tried several brands and they stuck their nose up at all of them until I found the Weruva pates. (My cats can't be bothered with "chunks" of food in "gravy"! They are LADIES and they prefer not to have to chew their meals thank you very much.) Their two favorites are Jolly Good Fares and Meows n' Holler Purramid. Every time I bring home another brand (always very healthy, high-quality stuff), they boycott the bowl until I throw the inferior food out and give them a Weruva pate. (They also like The Slice is Right Slide N' Serve, but I really dislike the pouches, though at least you can ... MoreMy 10 year-old rescue cats have eaten kibble as long as we've had them, but recently I decided to try to transition them to canned food because it is so much healthier for them. (They also like The Slice is Right Slide N' Serve, but I really dislike the pouches, though at least you can recycle them through Terracycle.) I'm so glad I found this stuff! One of my cats has long hair who used to have a mild hairball issue, but she has not thrown up once in the past few months that I have been feeding her these Weruva pates (with some probiotic sprinkled in).
I have a 13 yr old Bengal who started throwing up and/or having diarrhea a few months ago. After feeding him this for a few weeks now, he hardly ever throws up and has mostly solid bowel movements. WOOHOO!He finishes every bit I feed him. He seems to be gaining some of his weight back and is much happier now. Yes, the consistency is kind of strange, but I'm sold on it - maybe the "hydrating" puree is the secret. He won't eat anything else now.
We have an elderly cat (15 years old) with autoimmune stomatitis. This is a very painful and hard to treat condition that has no guaranteed cure. He's not a candidate for full dental extractions which can frequently address the problem, so we have to manage him with medication and diet. Sometimes he will have a flare-up that makes it almost impossible for him to eat. We were getting him through these times with human baby food, but it's not the best thing for cats for an extended period. He also can't have fish because that seems to make his mouth even worse, so we suspect that there's an allergy contributing to this. Thus, we avoid any sort of fish based ingredients, including fish oils. One day, as I was shopping for treats for our kiddos, I found this food, and ... MoreWe have an elderly cat (15 years old) with autoimmune stomatitis. We were getting him through these times with human baby food, but it's not the best thing for cats for an extended period. He also can't have fish because that seems to make his mouth even worse, so we suspect that there's an allergy contributing to this. Thus, we avoid any sort of fish based ingredients, including fish oils. One day, as I was shopping for treats for our kiddos, I found this food, and the name was so intriguing that I decided to give it a try. I had no idea what the texture was like; it just seemed like something fun for them to try. Plus, there are no fish ingredients in it, so it was a safe option for the old man. When I opened it up, honestly, this food looked so weird and gross to me that I was reluctant at first to even offer it to them. But, my idea of "appealing" isn't necessarily what cats find appealing so I put down the plates and let the 3 of them go for it. They all LOVED it! Even the old man with the sore mouth had no problem with this food.Since then, all 3 cats, plus a kitten have needed syringe feeding... one cat developed an aggressive cancer (NOT from this food!) and we also learned that she had a serious genetic kidney disease (Polycystic Kidney Disease, which is too common in Persians; she was a Persian, and we think the cancer was also genetic as we have had other Persians with a similar cancer). She needed some help at the end before we had to say goodbye. A second cat became very elderly (she was older than the old man), and went off her feed one morning. I hand fed her for half a day-- but unfortunately, her time with us was over, and she passed away peacefully at home that evening. (She was over 18 years old, and it was simply her time... her last vet check-up was 5 stars, and she had no health issues; it was just her time to cross the Bridge). The old man sometimes needs a bit of help with eating, so he gets a syringe or two once in a while just to make sure he gets enough to eat when he's having a bad time due to a flare. Finally, we adopted a kitten in the fall from a shelter, and she became very ill within a week of coming home. So, I fed her with a syringe because the illness was a virus that caused mouth sores. After a scary week, the kitten recovered and she's now a healthy, cuddly and happy adolescent. In all 4 cases, I used 'Press Your Lunch'! The extra-smooth and mushy texture is pretty easy to draw up in a feeding syringe to use for assisted feeding, and the mild ingredients are easy to digest. Syringe feeding isn't always easy, but every sick cat seemed to accept the Press Your Lunch, even if the syringe itself was an imposition!I can't say enough about this food. Of course, not all cats like the same thing. Not every cat will love this, but all of ours seem to enjoy it pretty well, even when they're sick. It's a great option for cats who are needing assistance to eat, if they aren't on a prescription diet. I imagine that if there's comfort food for cats, this would be one! I've even told my vet about this, and how easy it is for assist feeding, and now they keep it on hand for that purpose, or for cats on a regular diet who are maybe post-op, or boarding and want a little tasty meal that's easy to eat. Also being somewhat lower in calories, it may be helpful for plump kitties who need to lose a bit of the "cargo"!
high moisture- the higher the better. low sodium-the lower the better for cat's hearts & kidneys. lowER phosphorus-the lower the better for cat's kidneys. I've tried EVERY healthy cat food that exists & always end up going back to weruva-press your lunch: it's the only cat food he really likes. he also likes the truluxe steak frites which is very low in phosphorus but it has menadione (artificial vitamin k) in it which is toxic, so i won't give that to him.
