I have 4 dogs and love the Toppls for regular meals/enrichment games. I also sell these in my dog training classes as something for the dogs to lick/chew on when I am teaching "settle" to the dogs. Chewing and licking are a great way for dogs to release the stress hormone. "Cortisol" and we have seen huge successes with the dogs that have their Toppls. There is less barking , more focus and a lot more relaxed dogs in class. I also use these for private training when I am working with anxious/reactive dogs.I take my dogs regular food and get it wet so it has a paste consistency then stuff the Toppls with it. These also make a great food dispenser if you hook them together and put the dry kibble in it, really great enrichment game or if you have a dog that wolfs their food down.My one bit of advice I would give is to get more that one! The pictures below show 3 trays I made and I have one more already in the freezer and a video of the happy tails when they saw what I was doing! Westpaw just needs to make these for the Giant breeds!🙏❤️

My three dogs love the toppl. I originally brought the large size for my 6 month old puppy that had broken her leg and had to be confined to her kennel. It helped to occupy herself. I filled it with a triple layer of food treats and froze it. She liked it so much, I bought another for my male English Cream. I bought a small one to put together with the larger one, for more of a challenge. I ended up giving the small one to my Chihuahua. She loves it. Then, I bought two extra large Toppls. I can give them their whole meal in it. It occupies them for about half an hour. So much better than a Kong.

These are great! Our border collie drastically prefers toppls to kongs (and they're so much easier to clean). I will say that these are basically useless for dry kibble unless you get the two different sizes and lock them together, but they've been awesome for freezing all sorts of things (her favorites are yogurt, banana, applesauce, and canned food. Unfortunately she actually detests soaked kibble so we haven't had much luck freezing that either).I was initially concerned she might chew out the interior stick things (not sure what they're called), but so far she's shown no interest in chewing on them at all. She does have some trouble getting things unstuck from the very bottom of the small and she can't reach the bottom of the large at all (16lbs currently, but ... MoreThese are great! The candy cane colour is basically just solid pink (rather than varied), at least for the one we received, which was slightly disappointing, but the puppy obviously doesn't care, so that's just an aesthetics thing.

My pup's on a balanced raw diet and I swear he *inhales* everything but the meaty bones when it's presented in a regular bowl, grooved slow feeder, or flat licking mat. The Toppl is the only thing that has made him slow down and work for it. It is easy to clean by hand or by plopping it in the dishwasher. It's also a fantastic tool for feeding enrichment! I keep seeing all these fun snuffle mats and puzzle feeder with small dispenser but they're only options if you're using kibble. The Toppl (and Tux for that matter) work great for raw food and wet/canned food. You can make the fun last longer by putting the food in it the night before and then freezing it. Makes for a yummy meal they'll spend an hour getting at rather than a measly 2-3 minutes. Slower feeding is better for digestion, helps prevent bloat, encourages chewing, and gives the dog more enrichment & satisfaction during mealtime.I got the large Toppl, which worked great for some of his meals when I also use the Tux, but I will probably get the extra-large Toppl to fit bigger potions and create an interlocking puzzle between L & XL and get another 5-10 minutes of enrichment out of these.*I supplement my pup's meals with kibble and tried putting that in the Toppl by itself but without some wetter, mushy base to stick to the food just falls out when the Toppl is tipped over. It could maybe work with kibble if you also got the stopper so it stays upright the whole time if you have a smaller dog but a large/giant breed will push it no matter what, in which case the stopper is mostly so the stuff you put in there doesn't squeeze out through the side.
I ordered two of these because I have two dogs. I have only seen these in 3 different sizes, Small, Large, and XL. I got the Large size, and they are great for my 2 80 pound dogs. I could have went a size larger, but did not know that they existed until after I purchased these. These were recommended by a lot of people online, and I'm so happy with them. I soak their kibble in dog friendly broth until the kibble expands, then fill the Toppls and put them in the freezer, to give the dogs something to work on when I have to leave them at home. I check them every time I pick them up, and before I fill them to make sure they are still in good condition. If I start noticing teeth marks, or small chunks missing, they will not be given unsupervised. So far, they are ... MoreI ordered two of these because I have two dogs. I will run them through the dishwasher about once a month, and handwash them every other time, to hopefully prolong its life.
I got this for my Cattle Dog. I like putting her breakfast and dinner inside this toy instead of in a bowl, and she loves it. I have given her dry food as well as wet food, and a mix of both using this thing. The reason it has 4 stars is that it's the first toy I've had with her that actually wore out and needs replacing. The parts inside the hollow cavity inside the toy completely came off. They all broke off at the bases. It could be that putting freshly-cooked scrambled eggs inside the toy while preparing her meals weakened them. I couldn't find out how heat-resistant this thing was, but it seemed to be just fine going through the dishwasher. That said, I just decided to get another one. It's easy to clean. I'm going to avoid putting hot foods in it from now on ... MoreI got this for my Cattle Dog. I like putting her breakfast and dinner inside this toy instead of in a bowl, and she loves it. Super enrichment for a 12-y-o border collie who is not destructive nor a terribly strong chewer. The little silicone fingers at the bottom hold goodies like frozen peas, crumbs from the bottom of his treat pouch, bits of meat, etc. I fill the rest of the cavity with layers of canned pumpkin and greek yogurt, into which I have mixed more of all of the above tasty bits. Then I pop it into the freezer for later use as a surprise treat for settling in an open crate. Licking the contents out of the Toppl takes him 15-20 minutes. Licking behavior is calming and best done on a toy like this, rather than a leg or paw. Of course my dog gets a significant amount of outdoor exercise every day, along with several play sessions, as well as several brief sessions of positive reinforcement training that keep him intellectually stimulated as well. This toy is not a replacement but a fun adjunct to exercise, play and training. It relieves boredom for our dog while we catch an NBA game, and leaves him feeling quite satisfied with his evening. Note: it is insane that this comments section does not allow an accent on pumpkin puree, nor quotation marks or even so much as a possessive or word contraction apostrophe. All are apparently considered (quote) emojis (end quote), which is disallowed, and means re-typing an entire review. [irritated emoji-face]
This is actually my 2nd large size toppl and has so far, held up very well and provides my 18lb 10-month cockapoo with approximately 40 minutes of fun and mental stimulation. My pup is on freeze dried food, and I make his food as usual, put it into the toppl, and then place it in the freezer with a smear of pumpkin and cod crispies sprinkled on top (but honestly, you can't go wrong - peanut butter, banana, applesauce, and sweet potato works GREAT, too). After he's done going to town on it, it is super easy to clean, and he's definitely ready for a nice nap. That being said, I am super disillusioned with the plug that they kind of make you buy separately. You can seriously just use a treat, some cling wrap, or peanut butter, and you're in business! I've tried the other stuffable chew toys that are so very popular and seemingly ubiquitous. My Newfoundland will gnaw the little bit of treat that sticks out of the hole, and then he loses interest and I'm stuck trying to figure out how to clean it out! Ugh, I found one, a couple days later, that slipped under the couch. It was scary moldy with airborne mold that came out like smoke when I tried to clean it! The Toppl gets a totally different reaction. He normally eats raw, but for the Toppl I mix a little peanut butter with some kibble, load it up and freeze. I'll hand it off to Magnus and he is fascinated with it! I can see him from the other room throwing it up in the air and sliding it around on the floor, or gnawing at it with intensity and just having a great ... I need to experiment with different fillers and get a few more so I can keep a battery of them at the ready in my freezer!
After a lot of consideration I bought both the large and small of toppl. Background: I have a 9 month border collie/cattle dog/lab mix. She’s a strong chewer but not super destructive. She is very food motivated. She has A LOT of treat toys and I like to use treat feeders to giver her meals in to burn off some energy. As a meal feeder: You need both sizes if you’re going to use this for dry kibble. Otherwise it’ll all just fall out. But for the price and the amount of time it takes her to get the kibble out and the amount it holds (1/2 c of dry), it’s not worth it imo. Also screwing the top to the bottom is not nearly as easy as the video shows and sometimes I really need to pull them apart. She has an orange ball with indents that holds all of her meal (1 cup dry) ... MoreAfter a lot of consideration I bought both the large and small of toppl. Also screwing the top to the bottom is not nearly as easy as the video shows and sometimes I really need to pull them apart. She has an orange ball with indents that holds all of her meal (1 cup dry) that takes longer and was MUCH cheaper. The larger toppl is pretty good for freezing kibble though. Easier than a large kong bc it holds more and is less frustrating for her to get out. There is that hole on the side that’s nickle sized. I put either peanut butter to plug it up or I prefer plain canned pumpkin, freeze that, then fill with kibble and water. As a treat holder: separately they’re just too easy for my dog. The openings are huge and she just sticks her snout in and voila. Now I could smear peanut butter or pumpkin in there but I don’t give those to her a lot plus I think it would be messy but maybe not. And you can do that with a kong too. If you put them together and use smaller training sized treats so they fall out, that works better.TLDR; for my dog, the larger size works best as a frozen kibble feeder. Buying both was unnecessary.
