Drive is only formatting to 15 GB instead of the 500 GB. A little disappointing for a WD product not delivering its stated capacity. please contact me if there is any software support to resolve this to get full capacity on windows 7 Enterprise.

For those still using HDDs, I recommend this. It's cheaper than other drives, yet has a long MTBF. I chose it over a WD Red as the extra price for the Red didn't justify the MTBF.

My laptops hard drive died after several years of use, and I replaced it with the exact same drive, I could not get Windows 10 reloaded, something wrong with the image disk I made when the computer was new, so i just downloaded Ubuntu and burned a install DVD disk, and it fired right up and has been working like a Champ.

I have this drive in my laptop and it lasted just over a year! When you buy these or purchase a computer with it already inside you expect it to last more than the warranty period!
I'm using it as the D drive in an Intel NUC, with Windows 10 installed on an SSD C drive. This WD Blue model is an SMR drive. I don't know that I would recommend it as a primary system drive but I have never tried that. I needed a high capacity low profile second drive. This one works great for that kind of usage.
I've bought two of these so far and will purchase more, but I do not believe in consumer grade, rather, I use them as backup only drives, and I use them only because I can not get a WD black in 2 TB. Keep in mind two things, I've been a tech for over 40 years, and if there is a BETTER hard drive, I will pay the extra couple dollars for it rather than trying to save money by buying good enough, with hard drives, that does not exist. Second, I've had a brand new WD Black for laptop come bad in the box, so again, spend the money on better rather than recovery of data later. VERY IMPORTANT if the backup is going to be external (both of these were internal backups) I buy a laptop drive case and still buy these and mount them. I NEVER use a ready made external storage ... MoreI've bought two of these so far and will purchase more, but I do not believe in consumer grade, rather, I use them as backup only drives, and I use them only because I can not get a WD black in 2 TB. VERY IMPORTANT if the backup is going to be external (both of these were internal backups) I buy a laptop drive case and still buy these and mount them. I NEVER use a ready made external storage drive for saving data, NEVER NEVER NEVER, as if they fail, the usb is part of the drive making recover far more expensive and difficult. Expect drives to fail, backup your data, and this is a good drive for that.
After 6 months of use, the drive has become increasingly slow and the issue continues to get worse, I purchased this drive because it was cheap and affordable. The drive is now almost 2 years old and is likely to fail soon so I will be RMAing it before the warranty is up on it in exchange for a WD Black.
I bought a 2TB 5400RPM 2.5 inch WD20SPZX new on eBay for my Alienware M17X R3 and it was faster than the 250GB 7200RPM Seagate Momentus HDD in my Dell Latitude E6510 but after only 30 days of use the SSD Cache has gotten very slow so this new drive is slower than the drive in the old laptop.
I purchased this HDD for my Windows PC to serve as a place to store documents and other files I don't need to R/W fast. This is so my SSD can be used to store things like games and such. The HHD works as intended, I have even moved my downloads, documents, videos, and pictures folders to it by using junctions.
HelloI have a lenovo ideapad 110 15isk with wd5000lpcx hdd. I upgrade it with 250 gb ssd. I wanted to use hdd the 2nd drive in a caddy instead of odd. The bios detects it, but not in the windows. 2 piece hdd from another manufacturer (1.5 TB SATA3 and 250 GB SATA2) works properly. Why not works it in the wd5000lpcx caddy? What is the reason?
