We purchased this cooktop a couple of years ago and purchased an extended warranty with JB Hi Fi (thank goodness). After a year of no problems the cooktop started to randomly switch off in the middle of cooking. This continued and we lodged a warranty claim. We went back and forth for some time between Westinghouse, the Warranty group and JB Hi Fi as everyone kept passing the buck to each other.Eventually after many many many months we received a replacement cooktop which so far to date is working like a dream. Fingers crossed it continues to work well.

I chose to buy an induction cooktop during our kitchen renovation mainly because it was too hard to get gas connection done plus we have solar panels on the house. I chose Westinghouse because it was recommended by CHOICE & also the price compared to most of the others. What I DIDN'T know was the fact that the electricians charge a huge amount for installation in regards to the wiring. However, by shopping around & getting quotes thru Hipages, I got it done for only $200 to disconnect the power & remove old hot plates and another for connection of new cooktop as opposed to another quote of $2500!! - so shop around!!

I had installed one of these in a previous house and liked it very much. I then moved to a new house which had a different brand of Induction Cooker which I found very inefficient, slow to heat, difficult to set the temperature. Numbers didn't match up to the hob being used. Trying to set it to low temperature ended up switching it off.I then replaced it with this one and am very happy I did. Easy to set temperature to high or low, Quick to heat and good hob layout.

We have been using it for about a month. Once we got used to the setting all was great. Touch controls make life very easy. Timer function is a plus.Only one negative. We bought this one as it superseded our Westinghouse ceramic. The electrician had to do some works on the bench as it was deeper that the old one. The cook top is narrower that the old one. I am getting a tradesman to fix the gap on both sides. Pity it could not have been the same size as the old one.

Having only used gas previously I was worried about heat up time and control but I'm quite happy with the performance. I miss being able use a wok properly or the ability to shake and toss the pan due to the glass cooktop even though it seems quite durable I don't want to test it. The cooktop is quite easy to clean with just a few wipes of soapy water, unlike gas where it you have to remove items to clean it properly.Also it is a lot safer with regards to children, as they can't accidentally turn on gas and no naked flame. Also you have a child lock and even without it you need to press the on button and press another button for the element. Power wise I have seen no real change in my electricity bill. The only downside electrically is probably needing a new circuit just for the cooktop to be installed if you haven't had an electric stovetop before which is a few hundred dollars. All these issues are for induction stovetops in general not just the Westinghouse.After using it for a bit I think having the controls on the side would be better than up front, then the front small element could come down to give more room for the larger back element. If you have pots and pans with tops that curve out then there might not be enough room to have them both on the elements properly. If I had the space and money I would have got a 80-90 cm cooktop. The cooktop is quite slippery so you have to keep checking it is covering the elements properly after stirring or shifting the pan but it is glass and you quickly get used to it.Overall though I am quite happy with it happy.
I bought this 5 months ago and have been very pleased. The hob layout is a wonderfully designed allowing me to have a pasta pot with 3 saucepans on the go with no crowding or handle issues. I can also comfortably use 2 large frypans with a small or medium saucepan and have no issues flipping pancakes for example. The boost feature is fantastic and a great timesaver and the temperature settings are consistent. It's easy to clean and despite quite a few accidental boil overs while still learning which temperature setting to use, I haven't had any, issues easily removing burnt or baked on spills, even sugar syrup and caramel!
I have been using the product for nearly three months now. Among the electric stoves this is one of the best so far. I personally prefer gas stove over electric ones by far. I started to like this one and I am fairly confident cooking with that. Although I still believe that lag and sudden temperature change are the biggest drawbacks of the electric stoves.

I bought my cooktop in October, started to encounter some bizarre issue with the burners constantly beeping whilst cooking and then switching off. Westinghouse were amazing, they got the problem sorted immediately with a tech out within days. Needed to replace the cooktop. This was also arranged within days. Installation tech was fabulous, gave me some tips and this far it’s working great! I love it! I just wish I had bought the model with the boiling water not overflowing, but either way I am very happy with my cooktop.
I bought this to replace a induction cooktop from another manufacturer, that I removed as it had always disappointed and was nearly over induction technology. My electrician suggested a Westinghouse cooktop. This cooktop is superb and my belief in induction is fully restored . It lives up to and exceeds my expectations. Throughly recommend Westinghouse. Very reliable and attractive.
