Far superior our previous cooktop, which was a good brand. Easy to operate with quick consistent heat. We particularly like the 3 stage multi hotplate. Bing Lee Bankstown staff were knowledgeable and easy to deal with.

We have only had this product for a couple of weeks so I can only comment on it so far. On removing it from the box I noted it was packed well and had no marks on it. It is designed for the Australian market and was easy to install and wire as it had the single phase jumpers preinstalled. It also has self centering spring clips to centre it in the bench cut out. As this was a replacement for a previous Westinghouse Ceramic Cook Top which lasted 25 years we were familiar with its use. At this time we clean it with a micro fiber cloth and soapy water as recommended. However we will be buying the cleaning kit offered by The Good Guys within the next couple of weeks.

I purchased this Westinghouse cooktop on recommendation from an appliance repairman. It has replaced an 8 year old Ariston model which had been good but stopped working suddenly. Im impressed with the multi ring plate that accommodates my large skillet and then be used for a smaller pan. It heats up quickly and Im happy with control speed when reducing heat.

We had a Westinghouse Stovetop & Oven, the quality was great that is why we replaced it with the same make when our oven stopped working. Unfortunately the old cook top controls were on the oven & had to replace both. The oven works great but the Ceramic Stovetop quality is rubbish compared to our original stovetop. It marks so easily & you can’t just wipe it clean you have to use ceramic stovetop cleaner to clean after every use then buff it with a soft cloth to get rid of the marks plus the sensor goes off every time you touch the stovetop. Our old cooktop you only needed to wipe it down, it was 13yrs old & was in better nick than the new one we’ve had for 3 months. Extremely disappointed with the quality of Westinghouse which was once a quality product.
This is our second one of these, first one we got 18 months (got cracked by a heavy drill being dropped on it by tradesperson). We were happy with our first one and choose to replace with the same model. It works well, and we enjoy the aesthetic. Like most of these types of hot plates it can burn a bit hot on low settings at times, but once you are used to this it is fine. Overall we are content.
I bought this just over a year ago for my new kitchen, to match my new Westinghouse oven and French door fridge. The fridge I love, but not this cooktop. It scratches from the base of my saucepans (all relatively new) and boiled-over porridge baked on and was hard to remove. The on/off pad needs to be touched several times before any hotplate can be turned on. When it does eventually turn on and I select any number, within a few moments it takes itself to "A" which I guess is automatic and when I reduce the heat because it's too high, I notice the hotplate was at a number higher than I originally chose. Plus, when I select say setting 7 or thereabouts, the hot plate will occasionally go off and on by itself. Frustratingly, I need to continue watching it to see what happens and attempt to position the temp so it stays constant. Occasionally, when wiping spills during cooking, I have unknowingly turned on a hotplate which I didn't want to use. So, I wonder why it takes a few touches to get the things to work in the first place, when it unintentionally turns on with just a slight sweep of a soft cloth. Being an avid researcher, I chose Westinghouse; it was also recommended to me. However, I do not like it, and after constant use over the past 10 months, I regret buying it. So no, I would not recommend it.
Looks good, some handy functions like a timer for each separate plate, but the touch pad is very "touchy" - if it has any kind of moisture on it, or your finger (even after a quick dry off), when touching the pad, it won't respond. Would probably go with something different if I had known how touchy/not touchy it was.
The product works perfectly. But if you intend replacing an existing Cooktop then you may wish to give this a miss. Because as you can see my title it is actually on 59cm. wide and could expose the cutout in the existing bench top because I have no idea why it isnt 60cm wide.
This Cooktownhas a neat appearance and fits well in an average size kitchen providing 4 elements. The controls are easy to use and elements heat up quickly. I am happy with this product
