For a long time I have used JBL Control 5 and Control 1 Monitors for my 5.1 system; maybe because I was once a projectionist, I was loyal to JBL?I decided to upgrade my speakers and started with the Wharfedale DIAMOND 12.C. I always use the opening titles from 'Little Shop of Horrors' to judge the response and also the motorbike sequence. It passed that test! Then a friend suggested the 5.1 mix of Mike Oldfield's 'Tubular Bells'...wow, the Bass Guitar was in front of me, not coming from the 12.C. I would have purchased the Black Oak 12.2s to further the system upgrade but for some reason Richer Sounds have discontinued that cabinet finish; I had to purchase them elsewhere.

I bought these for my husband to replace his 9.1s. They are bigger and better. The sound is crystal clear. They sound amazing in our living room, which is large and the music fills the room. I would definitely recommend. I would also highly recommend buying from richer sounds. These guys are knowledgeable and offer great customer service. You won’t be disappointed x

Delivered today and was impressed with the styling of them straight away. Well packaged as well . Wired them up the bi wiring method and at first listen they sound great. They need breaking in like any speakers but was impressed with the full sound from the get go . Bought them in-store after a good chat with very knowledgeable staff and discussion on alternative speakers. So glad I went for these though. Would definitely recommend.

I bought this speaker as part of the surround package here: https://www.richersounds.com/wharfedale-diamond-12-1-x2-pairs-diamond-12-c-walnut-pearl-sw-10-black-wood.htmlHave had the speakers nearly two weeks, and have watched a number of films. The sound is awesome, and the centre speaker really accentuates the vocals in a clear and precise way Quite bright, and not bass heavy. I am really pleased with these speakers overall and cannot recommend them highly enough!
The first thing I would like to mention is the great service and advice from James at the Preston store, always friendly, quick to answer questions and offer advice, in person, over the phone and via email. This purchase was part of a package for my Denon AVC-X3800. The package is a 5.1 surround sound set up and is made up of a pair of the 12.3 floor speakers for the front channels, a 12.C for the central channel, a pair of 12.1 for the rear channels and a SW-10 subwoofer. I’ve been using the speakers for the last week and waited to submit this review so I had spent time with the products, which I have used every day. I needed to replace my Samsung Q series Soundbar and had concerns about moving away from a Dolby Atmos Soundbar with 22 speakers and upwards firing ... MoreThe first thing I would like to mention is the great service and advice from James at the Preston store, always friendly, quick to answer questions and offer advice, in person, over the phone and via email. I’ve been using the speakers for the last week and waited to submit this review so I had spent time with the products, which I have used every day. I needed to replace my Samsung Q series Soundbar and had concerns about moving away from a Dolby Atmos Soundbar with 22 speakers and upwards firing speakers as the sound bar fitted easily into the living room and sounded great (or so I thought). I was unsure how these six speakers could improve on the Soundbar when it came to gaming, watching TV and movies. Needless to say they are a game changer, the difference between the sound quality and space is night and day between these speakers and the Soundbar. The sound is cleaner, it does not feel like you’re being bombarded by sound all the time, as it did with the Soundbar, instead this set up sounds clean, precise and more involved. Going back to some of my favourite movies and games, ones that I have watched many times or spend hours playing, it is becomes clear that these speakers deliver sound that I’ve never heard before. I think the sound bar throws all the sounds at you all the time from so many angles that certain elements get drownned out. With this set up you don’t miss anything, the soundstage is nice and wide I don’t miss the upwards firing speakers at all (although I will include some at a later stage out of curiosity). Overall I cannot vault the speakers. They do take up a lot more room but the trade off is worth it. Put together with the Denon I can’t recommend these enough.

I Upgraded to Diamond 12 from Diamond 9, which were almost too good to be true for the money. So I expected big things from the 12s and they did not let me down. Was tied between these and the QAcoustics 3020 but upon listening, I'm glad I stayed loyal,The 12s lit up my room within moments of playing. This the most Ive ever spent on speakers but i don't regret it one single bit. (Compared to some, they are cheap but 250 quid is still a lot of money to me!) Took me a while to justify to the wife but even she says that the difference is astonishing. The scale is massive, even in my modest living room. Like jumping from a 19" screen to 50" is how I've described it to friends. Such a wide presence even placed just 3.5m apart. The hi-hats and reverb details are too real to deny. Thats really what compelled me to write this review.Build wise, like the diamond 9s, they are strikingly solid and beautify finished. The wood is smooth and so clean. I don't like grilles on, so no holes in the front really make a difference and makes them look up to date. The wife approves of the shiny styling too.
Haven't had a pair of wharfdales since 18yrs old. Denton's then Linton 2's and I was into the bass they produced in those days. My recent purchase of Diamond 12.1's came as a complete surprise. I went to listen to Dali Spektor and Q Acoustics. These things are entirely subjective, we all know. Q sounded cold, thin and undernourished compared to Dali which has greater presence and a more lively dynamic about them. Both parties had been used for demos previously. Tried the diamonds straight from the box. I was astonished. They immediately sounded better still with clear and stable stage imaging for both James Taylor "Hourglass" and Resphigi, Pines of Rome. Assistant John and I were both astonished. I'm taking a risk if I but these, I said. They might improve with some ... MoreHaven't had a pair of wharfdales since 18yrs old. How could I say no?I've had the 10 days. They are great and I'm feeding them direct from scource skipping pre-amp circuitry. Try them and be surprised.Great service a ever, very pleasing product.
Originally I purchased Wharfdale 12.3's but then decided to purchase the full fat 12.4s, impeccable service from the Richer Sounds staff, as a no quibble exchange. Speakers replaced aging Elatx Liberty 5+ speakers which I purchased from very same store 28 year's, my source was a Denon DM41 which I also purchased from Richer Sounds 2 year's ago, sound quality is a perfect balance of smoothness and attack when and where required, almost as if the crossovers have Ai. Great imaging and scale, wonderful stereo imaging, can't wait to hear them with future upgrade of amplification possibly Marantz PM6007.I've had a great experience with Richer Sounds and speakers.
Excellent speaker! It is in a budget category, but it sounds better than speakers I have owned that are more than twice the cost. They present music with a delicate accuracy and films dialogues are are clean and has a great midrange sonic stage.Esthetically speaking, they are beautiful as well as well built. I purchased the light oak, and they are wife approved!
