I bought the aluminium finish epoxy enamel a couple of years ago and just finished the tin. I will buy another tin shortly. It's by far the toughest of the epoxy enamels and I recommend you use it as a primer for the other epoxy enamel colours. It also has great density of colour so you barely need a second coat. Possibly the best overall paint I've ever used.

Quick drying, easy clean up, and good coverage. No sure what everybody is complaining about. Definitely easier to use than an epoxy enamel...so i wouldnt say overlaps are a problem. Basically a standard acrylic to apply

I tried spraying a motor bike frame. Same deal as the other review. And scraped off with a finger nail. My steel was bare and wa sanded. It couldn’t have been any better to accept primer or this supposed selfPriming paint. So had to spend more money of paint stripper, brushes, gloves and a full day of removal. Plus my water pressure motor blew up while doing it.

This paint provides an excellent finish when applied according to the directions. The only thing I would say is use an etch primer always. Yes you can spray this directly on bare metal but if you want a high quality durable finish always use primer. I use a primer every time and the results are excellent.
Used as undercoat on rusty shed and carport roof. Sanded rust; cleaned surface; applied SLS etch Primer. Let dry; applied White Knight Enamel (aluminium colour) as top coat. Looks amazing!
I do not understand the poor reviews of this product by others . This is the first time I have ever submitted a product review anywhere and am only doing so because the existing reviews are so misleading and unfair.I have used White Knight single-pack epoxy in different colours over a period of twenty-five years in both home repair and marine applications - mostly marine. Its perfomance on ordinary steel as well as on copper/bronze in the salty environment of the engine of a yacht has been outstanding. I am about to try it on aluminium (N.B. after etch priming as recommended.)
I purchased this to etch primer powder coated slat gates, I had already sanded the gates with 150grit wet and dry. It didn't stick after 2 days. I pressure washed the paint off!!.I purchased an automotive quality durable paint and primer elsewhere with success. It should have been better being ppg.
I had the exact same issue as the last review whereby but this primer rusted bare metal before my eyes within a matter of hours. Item in question had been previously painted and sanded right back the previous day - no rust before or after. Until it was primed. The entire water based range in the rust guard products is heavily misleading and more suited to craft or hobbiests. Their Rust Guard clear coat isn’t even waterproof and is for indoor or sheltered use only. Not sure about others but there’s not a lot inside my home that need protecting from rust but anyway. I also found White Knight customer service overwhelmingly unhelpful.
I bought some of this paint in May 2020. In early June I read poor reviews for it. However, I got a suitably prepared plate of mild steel and gave it a coat of paint in mid June to test for myself. I followed the directions to the letter. The paint didn't dry quickly. I left it for a week at room temperature, after which time it was semi-dried, but could be easily removed with my finger nail. I had read that some epoxy paints can take a month to completely cure, so I monitored it every week for 3 months! Still no luck, it could still be removed with a finger nail. Had I used this for my project, it would have caused me a world of pain to re-do. A completely useless, unfit-for-purpose product. I returned it to Bunnings NZ for a refund. They refunded the purchase price of the paint (and superfluous special thinners I had to buy at the same time) without asking any further questions. I really can't be bothered to write to Bunnings to tell the management what I told the shop assistant. Just don't buy it, it's crap. I would have given it no stars, but it's not an option.
Good primer, however have seen better, painted a few steel beams before top coat, the product went on well, however seemed to have an extended cure time and i noticed after a week, it was prone to coming off. Could well have been my level of prep, however I had cleaned with sugar soap and a scrubbing brush so expected slightly better performance.
