Wild Turkey Kentucky 101 Bourbon Whiskey is an iconic bourbon with a high rye content and deep character. On the nose there is a strong blend of caramel toffee with a robust amount of alcohol. The Spice and vanilla provide a baseline with extra layers of toasted oak and butterscotch. Sweet notes of maple and cinnamon are nicely juxtaposed with oak and spice.

There are several types of bourbon, each one serving a specific & special purpose.Like a date with an attractive woman, you can enjoy spending hours of complex conversation with. That's why Four Roses came into existence. Then there's that date when everything is destined to have a Wild Turkey 101 ending.Just my way of saying this whiskey has the best finish of any I've ever consumed.

Nose: As 101 proof, you get noticeable alcohol. But the smell of ethanol is not overpowering the sweet aroma of fruit and caramel. There's also a wood note.Palate: Fruity sweetness starts off, then peppery heat.Finish: Rye, and strong wood (oak).Comment: I recommend having it with some drops of water to calm down the heat a little bit. This way, you get to enjoy the fruity sweetness more. Not much smoke in it. I was expecting more harshness but it's quite friendly with its strength (50.5%). It's a really nice bourbon for its price.

The true wild turkey. Drink this on the rock, neat or in an old fashion If your going to mix with coke, please buy regular. This bourbon is not for the first time bourbon drinker, it is strong and has a kick. I buy it every time I can and is in my fridge constantly.5/5 personal favorite.

As i started getting into drinking whiskey ive always heard people give wild turkey a great renound review saying its one of the best whiskeys for its price so i just had to get a bottle for myself. When i first opened the sealed bottle i was welcomed with a very sweet floral scent come from the bottle but that immeadiatly disipated and started giving off a serious sour smell. ive searched other reviews on different websites even including whisky shelf for their review on the bottle and it was given a great review from my understanding, However my bottle for lack of better words seriously smelt like i opened a jar of Dill Pickles specifically, and was put off by its smell. Wanting to give it a chance before judging it i poured myself a glass and sure enough i was ... MoreAs i started getting into drinking whiskey ive always heard people give wild turkey a great renound review saying its one of the best whiskeys for its price so i just had to get a bottle for myself. Wanting to give it a chance before judging it i poured myself a glass and sure enough i was greeted by a really off putting taste, mostly sour and grass tasting nothing of which is remotely described by even the bottle itself. seeing how everything so far has taken a turn for worse the after taste left me extremely dry and tart in the mouth. This was a very poor first experience with wild turkey that now i have a whole bottle that might very well go to the trash or give to my neighbors.
We absolutely love this product. While most KY bourbons are made from genetically modified corn, Wild Turkey had the fore-site to completely boycott the technology. No one should want to consume foods that have been genetically modified. God didn't make mistakes and all His creations are perfect. Support Wild Turkey for caring enough!
This, for me, is like comparing a Bud light to a nice ale house draft. It tastes like the stuff we'd drink in high school (well, drink if we had enough sugary stuff to cover up the taste). It has a medicinal taste combined with a little more burn than I appreciate. Maybe it would be good in mixed drinks but I prefer a better bourbon straight up (neat), one that lingers and leaves you wondering about all the wonderful tastes you're getting and finishing with just the perfect warmth.I'm clearly a minority on this so I wouldn't suggest anyone be dissuaded from buying Wild Turkey 101 based on my review. "Distiller" reviews gives it an "82" which I think is fair. Maybe I'll try Wild Turkey Rare Breed sometime since, while I love Henry McKenna 10 but don't care for ... MoreThis, for me, is like comparing a Bud light to a nice ale house draft. Just go ahead and buy the 1.75L. This cherry, sweet front meets with a beautiful rye spice and caramel in the middle, finishes with spice, leather, and vanilla. Although not the best bourbon ever, at this price and proof it is hard to beat. Neat, on a rock, or in your favorite cocktail (proof holds) this does the trick.Just go and buy it.
It’s not every day that you find a bourbon under $25 that’s aged this long (6-8 years), bottled at 101 proof, and of the boldness and quality that this is. Vanilla, light caramel, oak, baking spices, and some fruit abound in the flavor profile. This is my go-to whiskey when I’m in a pinch, and is just as good neat as it is in a bargain Old-Fashioned or Manhattan.
Great value!!! Great Bourbon taste!!! The new version is softer and sweeter than before while maintaining the WT flavor profile. Plus that new bottle looks like a million bucks, it’s so clean on the shelf. A majority of $30-$50 bourbons can’t beat this unless they’re from Texas in my honest opinion. Also a great mixer with coke and Dr. Pepper as well as neat.
Lots of good flavors. Amazing for the price. A bit too aggressive for my liking. I feel a little battered after drinking this. Would rather the Russels 10 year or Wild Turkey Rare Breed than the 101 but would love to try this a 10 year old version of this.
