Wild Turkey Kentucky 101 Bourbon Whiskey 700ml

Wild Turkey Kentucky 101 Bourbon Whiskey is an iconic bourbon with a high rye content and deep character. On the nose there is a strong blend of caramel toffee with a robust amount of alcohol. The Spice and vanilla provide a baseline with extra layers of toasted oak and butterscotch. Sweet notes of maple and cinnamon are nicely juxtaposed with oak and spice.

CONSISTENCY!!! WILD TURKEY 101

A great high quality, high proof, high rye content Kentucky bourbon at an affordable price! It's been reliably the same product for over 25 years that I can personally vouch for. If the alcohol content is too strong for some palates, then it can be 'cut' with 1 part spring water to 4 parts Wild Turkey. I prefer it straight/neat, and to sip it slowly, sometimes adding a splash of Remy Martin VSOP or another cognac for an additional flavor.

If you like bourbon, you are going to love this.

The true wild turkey. Drink this on the rock, neat or in an old fashion If your going to mix with coke, please buy regular. This bourbon is not for the first time bourbon drinker, it is strong and has a kick. I buy it every time I can and is in my fridge constantly.5/5 personal favorite.

I have to disagree with the tasting description here. This is the sweetest bourbon I’ve had yet, but there is also a bite. Prominent notes of cinnamon, caramel, and vanilla. This is a smooth bourbon, probably the smoothest I’ve had. Absolutely delicious, and what a steal at the price. And, I also read that Wild Turkey is Non GMO. I’m a fan.

Non-GMO Excellence!

We absolutely love this product. While most KY bourbons are made from genetically modified corn, Wild Turkey had the fore-site to completely boycott the technology. No one should want to consume foods that have been genetically modified. God didn't make mistakes and all His creations are perfect. Support Wild Turkey for caring enough!

Not at all what I remember!
15 April 2019

I first tried Wild Turkey 101 back in the dark ages of the mid-90's and could barely keep it down. I've heard tales that the recipe has changed since that time, though I don't know that I believe it. Regardless, it's much better than I remembered. I think it's more that my palate has matured over the years, and I'm past the college kid shooter phase; I just couldn't appreciate the flavor and complexity that each pour brings to the table back then. Anyway, I bought the large 1.75 liter bottle to mix it with Coke. For giggles, I poured myself a shot and just sipped on it, and it didn't take long for me to realize that mixing this with anything would be sinful. I usually find the budget offerings to be very one-dimensional and boring, but this really has a lot going ... MoreI first tried Wild Turkey 101 back in the dark ages of the mid-90's and could barely keep it down. I'm VERY impressed with how good this is, considering I tend to stick more to single barrel offerings for my straight sippers. Well, now I have my "in-between special occasions" straight sipper in Wild Turkey 101.

Not for me, thanks

This, for me, is like comparing a Bud light to a nice ale house draft. It tastes like the stuff we'd drink in high school (well, drink if we had enough sugary stuff to cover up the taste). It has a medicinal taste combined with a little more burn than I appreciate. Maybe it would be good in mixed drinks but I prefer a better bourbon straight up (neat), one that lingers and leaves you wondering about all the wonderful tastes you're getting and finishing with just the perfect warmth.I'm clearly a minority on this so I wouldn't suggest anyone be dissuaded from buying Wild Turkey 101 based on my review. "Distiller" reviews gives it an "82" which I think is fair. Maybe I'll try Wild Turkey Rare Breed sometime since, while I love Henry McKenna 10 but don't care for ... MoreThis, for me, is like comparing a Bud light to a nice ale house draft. THE BEST VALUE IN WHISKEY
8 June 2023

Just go ahead and buy the 1.75L. This cherry, sweet front meets with a beautiful rye spice and caramel in the middle, finishes with spice, leather, and vanilla. Although not the best bourbon ever, at this price and proof it is hard to beat. Neat, on a rock, or in your favorite cocktail (proof holds) this does the trick.Just go and buy it.

Value for Money Excellence

Great value!!! Great Bourbon taste!!! The new version is softer and sweeter than before while maintaining the WT flavor profile. Plus that new bottle looks like a million bucks, it’s so clean on the shelf. A majority of $30-$50 bourbons can’t beat this unless they’re from Texas in my honest opinion. Also a great mixer with coke and Dr. Pepper as well as neat.

WT 101 finally

I bought this after reading several reviews. I don’t do on the nose ID’s. My first pour was: this isn’t bad. Second time, different day, hey pretty good. The taste up front is impressive. The finish is moderately long and sweet. I don’t know how long the bottle will last, but it definitely will not be my last.

Why spend more?
17 August 2022

I’ve had a lot of bourbons over the years and have made this my only bourbon I buy and drink now. First off, it’s made with non GMO corn! That’s a huge deal to me. On top of that, it’s 50.5 % alcohol! Last but most important, it taste great! It’s got everything I want in a whiskey at a very modest price. Seriously, why pay more? Just hope the price doesn’t keep creeping up? If it does, I’ll keep buying it cause everything else will have as well.
