The Winegard Connect 2.0 was a great addition to my camper. I now have internet every where that is more secure than the "open" campground wifi. The Winegard provides solid reception and fast internet speed.

I had this installed on my rv when I bought and tried out for our first trip to a park that was near a large urban area. It worked great, except for the data plan issues with Verizon. So I switched to the Winegard plan for my next trip to a state park in the mountains. When it worked it worked great, again the biggest problem was the data plan. Additionally I had problems where the 4G internet would drop and not reconnect. Which wouldn't be a big deal except it seemed to happen everyday. It seemed like I had to restart this every morning and occasionally during the day to reestablish the 4G connection. Now to discuss the data plan issues. As someone who works on the road I use a lot of data. So I called Verizon to setup a plan initially. I wanted a plan that wouldn't throttle my data and allowed me to not pay for data during the 9 months or so that I am not using my rv. Doesn't seem like to much to ask right? Wrong!Verzion set me up on a plan that seemed like it could handle my data use and would allow me to suspend my use when I wanted. Turns out you could only suspend for 3 months total and then you had to pay for the data you were using. So then Verizon said we can sell you a prepaid unlimited plan with no throttling. Only they actually couldn't that is only for phones and they throttle you back to 3G speed after 10GB. The only plan they could actually sell me for this device was 15GB for $80 with throttling after 10GB and $15/GB after 15GB.After calling AT&T I determined they had the same deal as Verizon, just cheaper because it was $70 instead of $80 for 10GB.So after talking to Winegard I signed up for their plan which gives me 10GB for $70 prepaid so I can cancel when not in use. And I could auto-renew when I used up my 10GB. Which all sounds great. However my experience with their plan is the auto-renew doesn't work and you end up calling support to have them manually push through the purchase during which time you lose internet connectivity. All in all I would say this could be great product if they solved the connection issue. Improve the data plan function and offerings. After all many people stream movies and tv now rather than pay for satellite or cable and therefore need more data. And finally get after hours coverage on their customer service lines.Additionally, it would be nice to see an improved web interface that lets you track usage by device so you can see who the data hog is.Right now I can't recommend this product because it doesn't work well enough to replace a phone hot-spot or Jetpack.

Hello, I was on the phone trying to get my RV New 4g installed and working properly. Well come to find out Verizon have certain limits on 4g that your Antenna is not capable of using 5g unlimited which Verizon said I need to fully operate to Satisfaction Wirelessly and WIFI on the RV Winegard Antenna. I paid a lot of money for your device to be purchased and installed on my 2019 Keystone Sprinter Limited 5th Wheel Camper. Verizon advised me to update you with the issues of your antenna which you properly new from the beginning. I'm A Disabled War Veteran that is totally disabled. I seeked information from V.A O.G Office D.C and they also advised me to contact you for a quick resolution to address the problems with Winegard. Please get back to me to resolved. Not HD. Be careful.
24 January 2022

Not HD. Be careful. DirecTV had a terrible time getting this to work. Its not HD, and all of their signals are. They don't even have a box for this that is compatible. Our tech made it work in our RV, but with a fuzzy signal. Won't pick up any HD programming. Just had this done, Jan 2022.

Right when I think its set up and working, the next day or even hours later I’m back at square one.
27 April 2021

Right when I get this thing working well and I think I’m out of the woods, it resets itself or something and I’m back to square one. Their must be a better way to get this working and keep it working so I’m not climbing on the roof all the time. I planned on using this for work travel but it’s not looking possible with this device. I’ll keep trying for another day or two. If I can’t get it working again, I’ll do whatever I have to to return it. If you decide to get this. Prepare for a lot of time on CS with Wangard and their hours are limited. Dustin Lee

Simple installation and reliable performance
10 May 2023

Easy installation on my preconfigured travel trailer. It would have been a bit more difficult if I had to install the power switch and interior cables but all of the necessary components were included in the kit. I am a bit disappointed the unit only has 4G LTE capability but that is the best they offer. I also think they should have the SIM card located in the interior switch assembly to make changing providers much easier than having to go up on the roof to access the card. I really like the dual function of a WIFI router and cellular hotspot. I haven't run into any issues with the unit or limitations of 4G LTE service.

Smart Phones Make This Obsolete
7 September 2021

I bought this expecting 1. It would work with one of our three existing Verizon phones. 2. It would connect where phone signals did not exist, as advertised. Any smart phone with used as a hot spot will do what this $350 plus installation will do. Don’t buy it! Verizon will sell you a SIM card for another line user fee and sales or tech support can’t explain Wineguard (not our product)! Marketing is very deceptive. If you plan to continue carry a flip phone in your RV go for it. Otherwise use your smartphone, save weight on your RV and don’t feel duped because of another bad purchase. Duped in WA.

Terrible customer Service
21 July 2019

We purchased this product last December, and had it installed professionally. It does extend wifi service at RV parks. But it does not provide 4G/LTE as promised. I contacted Winegard only to be told what ever the network provided is what I would be receiving. The only problem with that answer is that my Iphone was receiving 4G service from AT&T at the same time that the Winegard Connect was providing me with such slow speeds that my sessions timed out. I had purchased the Winegard data plan of 10G of which only about 40% was used before the service slowed down to the point of not being usable. I wish we had not wasted our money on this product. Terrible support!

Understanding the Winegard Connect 2.0 with 4G LTE
21 July 2019

So far so good. The Winegard Connect 2.0 WiFi/ 4G LTE is actually 2 devices in one. The WiFi device is actually a wifi signal booster, so if a wifi network is available it will boost that signal. The 4G LTE device works off the 4G LTE network, using the Winegard network. If you do not have a 4G LTE signal of at least 50% that device will not work effectively. It also allows you to install a sim card for , I think, ATT and T Mobile networks, but calling them I have not been able to get a clear understanding of process or cost. The Winegard 4G LTE is easy and all can be done on-line in your trailer as long as you have an internet connection.

Bought a G3 for my RV. I have a 2021 bound 35K pre-wired for satellite. The G3 Didn’t work. Spent two weeks working with them with no solution.except rewire my coach. Put a old 10 to 11 year old tailgater on the roof, connected it to the prewired insulation, and worked perfectly fine. I gave them a call to see if they would exchange it out for playmaker. They said they would not do that. Now I’m stuck with a $600 satellite that I can’t use because it’s over 30 days that I bought it I was even willing to exchange it straight up For a lesser model that would work and they still would not help me out.
