Good quality! Unfortunately I have five A1 canvases and one botle will be just about for one canvas and at the end its expensive. Would be nice to fjnd a cheaper alternative.

Following a recommendation from a colleague, I rubbed some with my fingertip along the edge of some masking tape and hey ho there was no bleeding underneath of the secondary colour.Very impressive.

Does what it says on the pot

As the description says, it creates heavy impasto paintings. A little of this gel really goes a long way and it really adds to the overall amount of paint you mix. Good brand, I’ve created some impressive paintings with this and it has a sort of glossy finish. Would definitely buy it again!

Excellent gel medium

I always try to buy Winsor & Newton products wether it be paint, varnish, glass bead medium and gel mediums. I've always found their products to be the best quality and this is true of this heavy structure gel. I bought this to make my own glitter paste but thought I'd made a mistake when I asked the manufacturers if it dried clear. I was told it dried white, this isn't the case, it dried clear. I've used it on stencils and to give structure to my art. It's brilliant and a little goes a very long way. It paints beautifully and have even used gold leaf with it, surprisingly it works as a gold leaf glue! It has so many uses, not just adding texture. I've used it for decoupaging napkins and rice paper, even fabric. Well worth the money as a tiny bit goes a very, very ... MoreI always try to buy Winsor & Newton products wether it be paint, varnish, glass bead medium and gel mediums. As you can tell by this review I'm a huge fan and given the choice I'll always use this brand.

Good stuff

This structure gel creates superb structure for acrylic painting without affecting the colour. It’s easy to use- and you don’t need much so it lasts for ages. Great bake for money

Good texture
16 February 2018

I use texture gel a fair bit and thought I'd try out the heavier product. It makes lovely thick peaks and was enjoyable to apply, The only drawback was when I used it with white acrylic paint there was a yellow tinge when it dried. This disappeared when I painted over it in white so it was easily rectified.

Great overall body and dries with a shine

Great product, easily mixed with Acrylic colours and easily applied. Beautiful shine once set and a good peak retention. You do not need to use slot of this product to see the results which results in a longer lasting supply.

Not what I'd hoped for

I ordered this to thicken up my Galeria paints so I could do some textural work in my paintings. Now, in all fairness I haven't used any other structure gels, but I've seen examples of them used in videos, books, etc. so I'm trying to be objective. This is labled as heavy structure gel, but I'd call it medium structure gel, tops. It provides some brush-stroke retention but only slight peaks and texture. I was able to get some cool textural effects on my tree trunks with it, but not what I would've expected.I've ordered some other heavy strucure gel from Golden, and I will certainly come back and modify my review as I try out other gels, if they are similar to this one, or not as good.If you are using really thin paints and want some amount of texture, I'd ... MoreI ordered this to thicken up my Galeria paints so I could do some textural work in my paintings. Review of Winsor & Newton Galeria Heavy Structure Gel 250ml

It's amazing! Lovely texture, easy to use. I've created nice impasto paintings with this, it has a plasticised finishing. I just have to say it's better to take the whole lid off instead of pulling up only the top (in case of working with palette knives)
