I buy these for my students to use in my watercolor workshops. They are solid brushes that stand up to all kinds of abuse and still hold their shape. I've used my own personal set for years and they are still going strong. These are the best if you're looking for an affordable and reliable watercolor brush.

I bought four different sizes of round brushes. All of them are bent at the very tip so I cannot get a fine line with any of the brushes. One of them started to crack right away at the handle, under the metal part for no reason. My instructor returned one of them for me. But again, even the small round brushes are not really usable because of the bent tips.In the picture is a size 3 round brush. If you look real closely the very tips of the brush is bent. It's very slight so I didn't think much of it BUT once you start painting you can only get a very dull line, especially on a brush that small its just annoying. To remedy this I bought some cheap nylon brushes from Daiso and they can actually make a tip.

I was given a set of Pabeo paints two years ago and it included one Winsor & Newton - Cotman paintbrush. I used that brush for almost every watercolor I have done since. I finally looked online at dickblick.com and saw that they carried this brand and ordered almost every size that they have of round brushes. I am so pleased withmy purchase and cannot wait to get started! These are fantastic brushes!#sweepstakes

While the W&N Cotman brushes are not considered professional quality, I find them to perform almost as well. The one-stroke brush was comfortable to hold, carried plenty of water, and laid down color smoothly and evenly with modest pressure.
These synthetic brushes are great. They apply colors evenly and pretty much do what the more expensive natural hair brushes do. We like them. This set completed my rack of brushes so now I have all the sizes I need.
The filbert brush works and maneuvers design effortlessly. It has the perfect combination of firm and soft bristles and absorbs water consistently and helps paint with the desired amount of pressure. #sweepstakes
I love this brush for bigger areas. I never have to worry about the brush coming apart and leaving little hairs in my paint. It also washes clean with water so easily.
I'd purchased several of these brushes through the website and after a week or less I noticed that the paint on the handle was peeling off in large chunks. At first I thought it was merely a cosmetic issue and decided to just deal with it since the actual brush worked very well. However, I've used them for several months and now more paint is coming off the handle and falling into my artwork while it is still wet. It's incredibly annoying to pick out chunks of paint from the handle out of my art. Very dissapointed in the quality of them because of this. I expected better quality control in a product from a company like Winsor and Newton.
I’m glad I bought this brush. I really like it for my gouache paintings. The price and size was just right. None of the bristles are falling out. I’ve been using it a lot for about a week now. Too soon to comment on the longevity of the brush. That’s why the 4 stars
My brushes where 30 yr old. I did not want to invest huge amounts of money in to new brushes. These are great brushes for the expense. I think they perform better than other student grade brushes I have bought. They have spring and load up with color well.
