Original Liquin is excellent for plein air artists. It extends and speeds drying of oil paints. The medium is also slippery so you can paint faster. My process is to rapidly sketch with homemade willow charcoal on linen canvas that has a clear primer. I then seal the charcoal with alkyd medium thinned with odorless thinner. The next step is to sketch the lights with thin washes of white. All of these steps are facilitated by Liquin.

This is very easy to mix into paints. It is helpful in thinning paint to do a layout on canvas, as well as creating the first lean layers while speeding up the dry time. It's smell is very strong, but does lesson significantly after a few minutes.

Winsor and Newton Liquin Original is my go to choice for oil painting medium. It’s easy to use to thin the oils and it helps them to dry quicker. I’ve used it for years. Like everything else, it has increased in price but after shopping for the best price on the larger (250 ml) bottle, Walmart beat all the rest.

This is an excellent medium for oil painting that's also beginner friendly. This + Terpenoid/mineral spirits/citrus thinner is basically all you need, aside from the paints of course. It works a lot like acrylic gel medium (extends, adds gloss, body, etc.), but it also speeds drying a little. It's still oil, though. It will not dry fast. Unlike acrylic medium, you really can't use this as is like a glue or varnish. It does have to be mixed with paint to adhere properly, and I would not use it in a higher ratio than 1:1, ie: a maximum of 50% medium.Don't be put off by the apparent color; it doesn't tint anything.#sweepstakes
I'm fairly new to oil painting and was mixing my own mediums but after seeing many Artists using this product I decided to give it a try. So far very happy as I like painting in several thin layers and this saves me days of time between layers. What I don't know is how well this holds up to time, hence my 4 star rating.
I can't live without Winsor & Newton Liquin for my oil paintings. It is especially useful for creating glazes that can be used in many ways. I always mix a little bit in my oils until they look buttery, making it much easier to create smooth and delicate lines, like for painting grass. I used this heavily with the two oils I did and one I am currently working on (not finished yet). I will upload these two works; one is an ink pen drawing on canvas board, and the other one I am working on is an oil glazing technique using Winsor & Newton Liquin. For the ink pen drawing, I will soon be using lots of Winsor & Newton Liquin to also do it in glazing using this fine product. I highly recommend this product. #sweepstakes
Liquin Original is a gel project that I often utilize to improve the flow of my oil paints as well as to make glazes for my paintings. Although it can result in problems when later varnishing if used to too high of concentrations, it is a marvelous drying agent that allows the oil paint to dry overnight.
This the only thing I will mix with my oil paint and being a private art teacher, this is the only thing my students use as well. Low smell, smooth texture, lasts decades without fading. (Yes I have been using liquin since the 1990s)
This helps thin out oil paints and makes it very smooth to paint with. Met the rep years ago and have been hooked every since the lecture and demo. It also speeds up drying time.
I began using Winsor and Newton Lliquin in the late 1980s for a commission to produce 12 portraits for a company's annual Calendar of Greats. It was fantastic then and still works extremely well with oil paints. I just purchased it for my granddaughter's painting projects.
