The Gel-Kayano 29 has great ankle support, feels incredibly light on my feet and gives a cushion and spring to my step that my old shoes didn't have. The colour is beautiful (I love pink) and I believe they will be worth the discount even if I have to wash them a little more as they're a lighter colour. The laces have a lot of give too so you can tighten them and run with grace. In my previous shoes I would get pins and needles or tingling after tightening the laces as much as I did. Not an issue for the Gel-Kayano 29's.The tread is great and while I am transitioning from my old running shoes to these I can already (week 1) feel the difference in arch support - which I've needed - in my feet.

I bought these on recommendation of my physio while I rehab from a sports injury (because I have slight over pronation). Wow! Amazing. Every shoe in the world gives me heel blisters, every one… except these! Had to upsize (usually 39 and bought 41.5). Wide fitting where I need it in forefoot & nice and snug elsewhere. No need to wear-in at all. Excellent shoe for me. They lose one star for being purple - the only colour I could get & I hate purple (apologies to all purple shoe lovers!). 5 stars if you make a wider colour range!

I'd love to know what socks people are wearing with these shoes... I used to LOVE ASICS and swore by them, but with these - I simply can't wear them. It's a shame for how expensive they are. SUPER comfortable when you try them on, but once I walked the dog in them for 45 minutes, I had the worst blisters I've had on my heels in years, and my feet felt like they were going to burn off. The friction of the inner lining is insane - it feels like a cat's tongue. It's also impossible to put them on without pulling your sock tight over your toes and crushing them for this reason, even after undoing the laces and doing them up again. It's so strange. I wish I could return them. About to buy two more pairs of Saucony Guide 14's since they're on sale for half the price of ... MoreI'd love to know what socks people are wearing with these shoes... I always buy asics trainers for running, as I find them the most comfortable of all the brands, and these ones do not disappoint. They feel cushioned and bouncy and give good support to the foot. I've a tendency for my feet to roll inwards when running, and these trainers are perfect to help correct that. Without the support, I tend to suffer with knee pain when running, but since wearing these trainers that has completely resolved.Size wise, they do seem smaller than previous styles, and I would size up 1/2 to 1 size for a comfortable fit.
I've always been an Adidas/Nike kind of girl and more recently I tried New Balance but having gotten into running and reading about Asics trainers on running forums I was intrigued to see what the difference is. I am amazed and can't believe what I've been missing all this time! These trainers are what EVERY runner needs! The gel cushioning is like nothing else - I can't believe the difference it makes - like running on clouds but more technically they absorb the impact when running! I wear them for walking too - they are so very comfortable, didn't need breaking in and no blisters at all. Even the shoe laces don't come loose on a long run.I generally run on the road and I've noticed a difference in the tread running downhill - no slipping/skidding on gravelly roads. In everyday shoes I wear a size UK 7/EU 40. I wear aEU 40.5 in New Balance trainers as per the sport shop/sales advisor's recommendation. These Asics Kayano are a EU 41.5 and fit perfectly for running.I will definitely be purchasing Asics in the future - go ahead and pay the extra you really won't regret it - the hype is real!
Asics trainers have been my running shoe of choice for years, so I was expecting these to be good. However, the gel insole really makes a difference and takes them up a level from the standard ones. They are comfortable as soon as they are on and when I run in them I can feel the gel insole taking the impact. I struggle with shoes in general as my ankles/heels are very narrow and my toe joint area is very wide so I often buy men's trainers to get the width which can leave the back of the shoe a bit loose. However, I am pleased to say there is plenty of room for my wide feet and my ankles were nice and secure despite me going for a size 7.5 when I would normally take a 6 (I don't like having squashed feet when running) and I didn't think they looked too ridiculously ... Often new trainers can give me blisters (probably due to my odd shaped feet) but this was not the case with these and they certainly kept my pronating in check. And as a bonus I really like the colour.
These are a top pair of trainers that I would recommend to anyone ! I have always worn Asics trainers but I found the gel insole made these trainers extra special. I have previously struggled with plantar fasciitis but these trainers were supportive and comfortable with little discomfort.I've worn these in training and road racing and found them light and responsive to all surfaces. Also a funky colour - 100% worth the money !
These trainers are my first new pair in a while to do actual sports in. I use them for walking and on a cross trainer. The cushioning in the shoe makes working out so much less painful - I have very achy feet. They are very light so moving in them is effortless and because they are a good snug fit, there is no risk of slipping off. My daughter who has the same sized feet has used them for running and says that she now bounces! Would definitely recommend these.
ASICS have always been my go-to running shoe, and the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 29 is no exception. I have always had difficulty running, with pain in my shins and knees. After a gait analysis identified the pronation when I run, I found that having an ASICS trainer that corrected for this helped massively. The Kayano trainer provides stability, with inbuilt arch support to prevent overpronation. A lot has gone into the design of this trainer such that it provides a lot of support and comfort, without compromising on weight and design. The shoe looks great, very fashionable and not bulky at all. This added to the running experience, the shoe is incredibly light. I was really surprised that a shoe that gives this much support could feel so light. This makes it the ideal road ... There is gel technology cushioning to provide shock absorption, and the overall design is meant to improve rebound and foot strike impact. There is also reflective detailing on the trainer, which is ideal as we head into the darker evenings.
Really good strong side support from the structure of the chunky sole. I did scuff the pavement a few times on a run due to height of the shoe sole but tired legs may have contributed. The insole is more padded than my other Asics, it is a comfortable and supportive insole. Padding around the ankle is soft and supportive. Well made and a real comfortable shoe to wear.Sadly I need a wider shoe for running. After around 3km and once having heated up with the inevitable foot expansion, I had a familiar foot pain on each stride impact. It is the ball of my foot on the side of my big toe landing just over the edge of the supportive chunky sole. The shoe will be comfortable for walks / shorter activities but not running, as I need a bit more width for the ball of my ...
