After scouring the internet for a pair of Glycerin 18's, I decided to go with the 19s because I couldn't find any 18's left in my size. I ordered them in the the "Black/Volt" size 7. I usually wear 6.5 in every day shoes but always size up to 7 in my Brooks. The one positive I can say is I LOVED the colors. However, I have never felt such pain in my feet in my life while running in these. When I initially put them on, they felt weird in the toe box but I could still move my toes so I thought I'd give them a chance. All I've worn is Glycerins for the last 10 years except for the original Levitate 1's. I wore them briefly around the house before my run to make sure I was satisfied with the tightness of the laces. I stopped and readjusted the laces hoping that would help. I barely made it through mile 2 when the pain was so intense, I nearly cried. I had to overcome my stubbornness and perseverance and thought "I better stop before I do permanent damage" that is how much these hurt! I stopped and limped back to my house. Honestly, they even hurt to walk in. I would have considered going barefoot if there had not been snow on the roadsides. Brooks, why did you change such a good shoe?? I am not sure what there are for alternatives but I am happy to hear what you have because I am a loyal Brooks fan but these shoes deserved an F.

I hope they go back to the old style because I have never had shoes as comfortable as the 17 but I’ve also never had shoes as UNcomfortable as the 19 (unless you include high heels)

Great cushioning for long runs and supporting the knees. Have run many half marathons in these shoes and training for a full. Was recommended size 25.5 cm with D-width based on my foot scan but found the fit better at 26 cm because of all the cushioning around the shoe. Even with a wider size, the shoe was still a bit narrow in the front. Moulded/softened overtime though as the front of the shoe is a soft fabric design with no leathery frame.Have found that the shoes are extremely water absorbent. If it's raining or there are puddles on the ground, the shoes absorbs the water a fair bit and feels like a wet towel, so can weigh down your feet a bit. It also takes decent amount of time to dry afterwards.Have also read online that glycerins are great walking shoes ... MoreGreat cushioning for long runs and supporting the knees. However, until then, these are my go to pairs.

Love these shoes! I thought I loved the Adrenalines 22 until I bought these. The glycerin 19 is so soft, smaller toe box then the adrenalines 22 but honestly the smaller toe box feels better and more comfortable. My foot doesn't slide around as much as the adrenalines. Feels just right. I should probably get the glycerin 19 GTS because I am on my feet at work about 8 to 10 hours and walk anywhere from 3 to 10 mi a day at work constantly moving on concrete which does greatly improve compared to many other shoes I have tried and my feet have less fatigue and the glycerin 19s. I love the laces on the shoes they don't go untied I just have to tie them once and I don't have to worry about them getting untied The length is perfect on the laces. at work I used to be in ... MoreLove these shoes! The black ones in the store they look pretty good but I don't like the white sole that right there got me on that should have did a black sole.. please come out with more colors for your glycerin series at least eight to 10 different colors being available and just because we're women doesn't always mean that we want everything pink and purple lol sometimes but we really like other color options as well cuz there's a glycerin 19 that I like that's men's but unfortunately the smallest and mens that you guys have is an eight. The new glycerin 20s the colors are okay I guess they're interesting I guess you can say but I'm really hoping you're coming out with more colors otherwise I'm probably not going to get them... I might just buy another pair of the glycerin GTS version I might get the pink only because I don't want the black I already have a black version one of your newer colors of the adrenaline 22 has a little bit of pink on it it's like a black gray it looks really nice. ..
Ugh...I hate to leave poor reviews but reviews are the reason why I chose this particular shoe in the first place, so hopefully this will help you make a thorough decision.I LOVE LOVE the glycerin 18...I have burned through 4 pairs of this shoe. They are the perfect neutral shoe for the way I run and my knee pain and ankle stiffness virtually disappeared once I started running in these shoes. I love them so dang much. To clarify-I love the glycerin 18. The 19? Meh-not so much.I purposefully size up in size and width (size 7 wide) because this is what is most comfortable for me when I run. In fact, the reason for the low star review for the G19 is because the WIDTH of the shoe in the tow box area is much more narrow than the G18. The rubber sole is wider, however the actual toe box is tight and narrow...not even the same measurements in width in my old shoes-I even measured, just to be sure. So 2/5 stars and to be honest, I would give it a 1 but Brooks is an awesome brand so I'm giving you guys credit for that. The shoe itself has the perfect amount of comfort, cushion and lightness. I just need a wider toe box and don't want to go up in width as its the chunky sole that is wider, not the actual toe area. I'm super bummed-returning ASAP.
I was excited to get into these new Brooks! I bought them for myself at Christmas and was waiting to wear down my older running shoes before I got the joy of running in another pair of new Brooks- Glycerin! These are my favorite Brooks model and I’ve been wearing them for years. Unfortunately, right from the moment I tied them on, I could tell they were uncomfortably different. The toebox is tighter which makes the shoe feel a half size smaller than normal and the footprint felt narrower. I run trails and roads and as soon as I I hit the trail portion of my run, I could feel the breathable mess allowing trail dust and sand just fill up my shoes. And once I got into my second mile the narrow base allowed for me to easily roll my ankle on a tiny crack in the sidewalk. ... MoreI was excited to get into these new Brooks! They are not stable, squeesh your toes, and allow the trail to totally flood in with dirt and sand. If you’re looking for your favorite, reliable Glycerin’s, this model isn’t it.
These shoes would've fit perfectly if there was enough room for orthotic inserts. I have wide but very short feet (size 4.5 - 5), and I also have plantar fasciitis and was looking for shoes with enough cushioning. But once I put an insert in these shoes, there wasn't enough room for my heels to fit in the shoe. Every step I took, my heels felt like they were slipping out, so sizing up wouldn't have made a difference. The shoelaces were so short that I couldn't even slip them into the extra shoelace hole to tighten the shoe around my heel. The shoes look good but for the price, are very poorly designed. Now I'm back at square one trying to find cushioned shoes for plantar fasciitis that aren't too big or too small. The plus side is that this company allows returns after wearing the shoes outside. I wish other companies could adopt this policy...
These are the most plush and cushiony shoes all around that I have ever worn. However, they are very snug. They run a whole size small and narrow - the wide sizes could still be wider so I can imagine the medium width would be narrow for anyone whose foot is even slightly on the wider side - I would say unless you have narrow feet, order the wide width. That’s the only reason I subtract one star - because of the difficulty with sizing. I am normally a a size 7W but I have been ordering half a size up in all my running shoes since I have bunions and need a roomier toe box. In these, going half a size up to a 7.5W was still snug enough that it was not giving me enough room and also slightly pressing on my bunion, which would be irritating for longer duration of ... MoreThese are the most plush and cushiony shoes all around that I have ever worn. In these, going half a size up to a 7.5W was still snug enough that it was not giving me enough room and also slightly pressing on my bunion, which would be irritating for longer duration of running or walking. However because of how much I appreciate the cushion comfort I have exchanged the 7.5W for an 8W, because I definitely appreciate having these for days when I want that extra plush experience. In contrast I have the Launch 8 and those are actually quite roomy in 7.5W to the point where I would probably have been fine to get a 7W - just goes to show how snug, narrow, and small these seem to run in comparison. In terms of breathability - these aren’t the best shoes for hotter temperatures. I can see why that is the case, as the cushioning sacrifices some breathability. If you tend to experience very hot sweaty feet, I suggest avoiding these and getting the Launch, which are so lightweight and very breathable. For most people, these would be great for indoor runs on a treadmill since you can have the AC on or running outdoors in cooler weather. I don’t have particularly sweaty feet, but I still wouldn’t run/hike outside in these in the summer.
I was really hopeful for these 19's, as the glycerin 18's were the first brooks I ever bought and we're the best shoes ever. They had such an amazing squish to the whole sole of the shoe that gave the cushion I needed. As soon as I tried in the 19's when they came, I could tell they were not anything like the 18's. The 19's are much more firm and felt like a rick under my heel. Standing in them actually hurts my heel and made it burn for the first 2 weeks. This has gotten slightly better, but now they have begun to hurt my arch. I realized after my arch began hurting, that they lack arch support near the inside of the shoe. The 19's still have a little give to the outsole when jogging, but nothing compared to the spongy-squish that the 18's had. I'm gonna keep trying the 19's for a while to see if anything improves within the 3 month return period, but otherwise, they are going back. Please, bring back the softness of the 18's!
Unfortunately there are manufacturing issues, both shoes are not equal, they seem like 'seconds'. The upper mesh buckles on left side of right shoe as it is attached differently at the toe box to the left shoe. I decided to not return shoes and live with this. However during my first walk the shoes caused severe aggravation to my left Achilles tendon. Upon inspection after the walk there is something very hard in the padding at back of shoe, slightly to the right of my left Achilles. Whatever is causing this issue can not be softened (I did try) and the soreness of my Achilles continues to be aggravated. This is my first time purchasing Brooks brand, I am disappointed and am at a loss at what to do as I do like other aspects of comfort and fit of the shoe for my feet for walking.
