Woodford Reserve Double Oaked was his best so started drinking it when I went to Subic Bay, PI during Vietnam. Forest bourbon, smooth as silk no throat burn especially with an amazing cigar. Try it you’ll feel the same if you know good bourbon.

I adore scotch too, but I prefer bourbon, so I may be a little biased. This is a good change of flavor from 4 Rose's Single Barrel, which is my favorite. The spicy rye tastes of 4 Roses really appeal to me, so this bourbon is a welcome change of pace. Both the scent and the taste are very smooth, with notes of maple, brown sugar, and butterscotch. The flavor has a little more spice to it, but not as much as a whiskey with a lot of rye. This is ideal for making tasty cookies throughout the colder months. The only downsides are the cost and the likelihood that scotch lovers would find this expression to be overly sweet. Unquestionably worth a shot!

To begin with, this bourbon is excellent. It differs significantly from the original Woodford, starting out with strong woodsy notes (in a good manner) and ending with the customary sweeter note. It sounds a little bit too, um, spicy? Woody? Oak flavor? Therefore, even at half the cost, I much prefer the original. However, it has so many distinct flavors that I can understand why some could like it.
My best bourbon in this price range, without a doubt. On the nose, it generally smells sweet. Some people say maple syrup, but I nearly smell molasses, though not strongly. However, the flavor is more akin to butterscotch and maple syrup. But it goes deeper than that; when you swallow, the flavor changes to a mild almond flavor with just the proper amount of spice. It's not at all overwhelming and is a pleasant, simple drink that makes you want more.
Not a huge fan of over-Oaked bourbon. So why buy one called double oak? Asking myself that right about now. Reviews, both here and pros, suggested the oak was tame with many traditional bourbon flavors. Really like original WR, one of my favorites. But this is wood on the nose, and drying on the pallet and finish. Drinks hotter than the proof. Obviously many people like this but I'm regretting the purchase. Is there a bourbon rescue that would take this in?

Sincerely, I believe they could definitely get away with charging $69–74 for it if they packaged it fancy like certain Scotch whiskeys. This is also the BEST for presents. Spend less money on $300 bottles that arrive in a casket filled with raffia, tissue, glitter, and whatever else they throw in there these days. If you succeed in getting this, you'll appear to be an expert on whiskeys and attract the attention of many whiskey drinkers, including some Scotch drinkers.
The product from Woodford Reserve is excellent! I concur with Robert that the tastes are more potent, but I thought this bourbon was exceptionally smooth, starting off with a wonderful carmel hint and finishing with a hint of spice and wood. This bourbon is a little expensive. There are cheaper alternatives to this bourbon that are comparable (try Makers 46 or Willet). However, if you are a true fan of Woodford, you must try to buy this! Due to the product's price, I gave it a rating of 4, but if flavor and enjoyment were the only considerations, I would have given it a rating of 5.

Not sure if I am digging this one. All reviews I have seen are positive, must have one in the cabinet. The smells are nice. Heavy oak, pancakes with maple syrup, and cherries. The sip is OK but nothing special. The first flavor is oak. Like licking an oak board. There is definitely vanilla, cherries, and but the sweetness is not there for me. I opened it over the weekend so it may improve. The flavors die with ice or a couple of drops of water.
