Good alternative to wheat flour. I don't use almond meal very much and searched in Bunch recipes for inspiration. I made almond and blueberry friands using recipe by @carat_counter and they were delicious. The almond meal gave the friands more of a textured flavour compared to muffins made with wheat flour. The almond meal also gave the friands a slightly nutty taste, which was really nice. I will try a couple more recipes using almond meal, but I'm not converted from wheat flour yet! Here is the recipe for the almond and blueberry friands:https://bunch. woolworths. com. au/recipe/10036783/Almond-and-blueberry-friands#?sortby=RECENT

Australian almond meal. I had this almond meal sample in my pantry for some time, not being able to decide how to use it. I wasn’t planning on baking any cakes or muffins, so my sample sat for a while. Then I saw this recipe for almond meal cookies and made it today, Almond Bliss Cookies by dcbunchmelb. The almond meal was perfect for the cookies and the recipe is easy and tasty. Now that I’ve opened the packet, I’ll use the remaining almond meal for these cookies later, also use in crumbed chicken, sprinkle over salads, sprinkle over berries and yoghurt, and in smoothies. It can also be used to thicken curries and add to any dish for extra health benefits. I would purchase, as it’s not too big a pack and it’s not too small, and perfect to keep and use. The product is 100% happy guarantee and BB is April 2023. Once opened, store in airtight container. Bag is return to store recycle ♻️

Great for baking and crumbing. I mainly use almond flour when making biscuits, and was very happy to receive almond meal as a sample. 100% Australian almonds, and perfect for baking & crumbing. This was easy to find in store in the baking aisle. The packaging in the Woolworths baking range is the same, blue and in a clear pack so you can see the product. This lost a star ⭐️ as it does not come in a resealable bag. I made almond biscuits using my sample. They came out golden brown, just like if I had used almond flour. $10. 50 for 665g. Servings per pack: approx 22. Serving size: 30g5 Health star rating. ✅✅✅Product of Australia ✅✅✅No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Finally found a way to use this in cooking!! I used to use a lot of almond meal when I was cooking low carb, however decided that I liked my desserts with full flour. I picked up this sample and took a while before I found out what I wanted to use this in. I didn't want to use almond as a substitute for another ingredient, I actually wanted to enjoy the texture itself. I decided to bread my fish cakes in almond meal, and they were amazing! I mixed canned salmon with potato, onion, corn, peas and seasoning and coated them with almond meal. Then I shallow fried my fish cakes. They were fantastic, and I really loved the texture. Given that I have so much leftover, I did hear that it would go well in banana cake and would love to give it a try. Thanks for another great ... MoreFinally found a way to use this in cooking!! Adds a good flavour to baking. I adore making choc chip cookies (and eating them) so thought I would substitute some flour for almond flour. I did half and half but next time I would only substitute 1/4 cup or even just add a tablespoon of almond flour. Adds a wonderful flavour but really softens the texture which isn't a bad thing unless your recipe for cookies is already nice and soft which mine is. Well worth using to add a deeper flavour, slightly nutty of course but I found it just intensified the cookie flavour which was great. If you half and half you may need to add more flour to your recipe. Will definitely try in more baking but with more care on how I use it, which is if you read up on using it is what the experts tell you. Perfect for adding to baked goods! I love that is product is made from Australian almonds. It is a great source of fibre and protein. I add this Woolworths Almond Meal ingredient to a sweet treat that is essentially Sugar-free- Vegan-Keto balls that taste just like bounty bars. I also love to make Almond Crescent biscuits with this almond meal. It is a generous bag size of 665g, currently priced at $10. 50. It comes in smaller bags but if you bake often it is much more economical to purchase the bigger bag. The Bag is recyclable and can be returned to the store. I will continue to purchase this product which is easily found in the baking aisle amongst the other baking fruits and nuts. One of my favourite aisles!

Excellent Choice. At 665g this is a very large pack, suitable for anyone who bakes a lot. The product is easily recognisable in it’s blue bag sensibly designed to have a large clear window so that the contents can be seen. Almond meal is traditionally made from almond kernels still with their brown skin but this one shows no sign of those brown flecks. The colour is pale, the crumb is rather fine and it pours fairly freely from the pack. It is sweet with no trace of bitterness. I love that this almond meal is 100% nut and an Australian product from Australian almonds. It carries the Woolworths 100% satisfaction guarantee. It has a best before date 12 months ahead but I prefer to keep all nut products in the freezer. I used a cup and a half of this almond meal to ... MoreExcellent Choice. I used a cup and a half of this almond meal to make a French Pear and Almond cake and am really pleased with the result in both flavour and texture. A Pecan and Almond loaf, and some Italian biscuits are further planned uses. I cannot justify choosing a more expensive branded almond meal when this one is so perfect for me.

As good as any other Almond Meal. My wife is gluten intolerant, so we buy this sort of stuff quite regularly. The Woolworths brand is at least as good as any we have tried, and tbh, it tends to be our 'go to option' anyway. My wife has a particularly brilliant banana bread recipe that uses almond meal, and we often make it as a treat when we know visitors are due. It is called "Gluten-Free Banana Raisin Bread" and can be found on Taste. comInstead of just raisins, we have substituted dried cranberries, dried sultanas, glace cherries and even chopped dates. The recipe is forgiving enough to even allow the addition of some chopped walnuts, pepita seeds or other healthy tidbits, and has been super tasty every single time we have made it. Excellent. I just used some for baking Almond Biscotti, thanks to Bunchee @nayzar. The recipe was delicious too, Thank you @nayzar. The Almond meal was light-textured and easy to work with and had a great taste to go with it. Aside from the benefits of being Gluten-free and being a substitute for crumbing, there are very limited uses/recipes. I don't know if I would use this as a flour replacementThat being said, there are some recipes that require almond meal, as an ingredient and I would have no hesitation in using Woolworths branded almond meal. Bonus points for being made with 100% almonds. As for the biscuits, well, I haven't dusted them and I had to use slivered almonds instead of almond flakes. Great gf flour. Having always purchased almond meal for my gf baking needs, I was sure I knew what I was looking for when trying to locate this almond flour. But alas, no, almond flour is exactly that - a flour - found in the flour aisle! To be honest even with a little research I don’t know the difference between the flour and the meal, as they look and work the same, but there you go, a new product for my gf panty. For everyone playing at home “Almond meal and flour are both made from ground almonds. However, almond meal is made from unpeeled almonds, while the flour is made from blanched ones. ” Either way, this flour was found in the flour aisle (not so easy to locate first time around). The packaging was similar to the nuts/dried fruits in their blue hued plastic packet. It was easy to open but unfortunately didn’t have a resealable seal. As with almond meal, this almond flour is pricer compared to standard flours but is an invaluable addition to any gluten free kitchen. The flour is fine, but not as powdery as wheat flour, and produces a more dense product when baked. I used the flour in a banana bread in combination wwith tapioca flour. The texture was similar to almond meal, so I couldn’t tell the difference between the two but in comparison to flour it’s more grainy provided a really nice consistency in a loaf. I’d definitely buy this product again when baking, depending on if it or the almond meal is better priced.
