Thank you for listening Woolies. Firstly the steak. Tasty, melt in the mouth, quality steak. A little pricey to feed the family on but maybe for an occasional special meal. What really pleased me was the recyclable packaging. It’s a start, there’s still a vast majority of meat sold in cling wrap and polystyrene but it is a step in the right direction towards less single use plastic. Thanks for listening Woolies and keep going!

Finest beef in excellent environmental packaging. This product is a breakthrough for your taste buds and the environment. It is a standout product in the meat department that sets a new level of quality, taste and packaging for others to follow. A sensible package that after opening deconstructs so customers can recycle the whole package easily. The quality is excellent and the taste is superb. Just remember to cook carefully (not on high BBQ temp) to get the best results. BBQ on one side on medium temperature for 4 mins and turn over once. Second side 3 mins for medium rare, 4 mins for medium and try to avoid well done as it is not good for you and dries this cut of steak. Easy does it, as this product is the Rolls Royce of beef cuts. Enjoy!

Nice Flavour Very Tender. Porterhouse is not really my preferred cut of meat. Although I have to say good Flavour and Quite Tender. I did look for a piece without a large amount of Fat on the side. I like my Steak Medium Rare. Seasoned and Seared on both sides for 90 Seconds, quick render of the fat for 2 mins on the side then in the oven for 2 Mins at 180 Degrees. Perfect. There was a very small amount of gristle but I was expecting that. All in all I was very happy with this cut,.

Tender and Flavoursome. I just pan-fried the steak after seasoning it with salt only and it was excellent. I never buy Porterhouse steaks, usually stick to scotch, t-bones or eye fillets but after trying this cut I'll definitely be buying Porterhouse again. It had great flavour and was very tasty. It was a good size steak so I think the price is ok but perhaps a just a couple dollars cheaper would be more appropriate.
Best Supermarket Steak. Honestly, this is my go-to for a quick steak night. Just amazing quality for a competitive price per kg. I have tried the scotch and porterhouse fillet both beautiful with a quick pan jus.
Yum... but watery. Packaging: now with 75% less plastic, the cardboard is recyclable but the plastic on top still requires rubbish but all good moves for a more sustainable product. It also has cooking instructions on the back as well as what part of the cow this meat comes from which is great. Taste/Flavour: didn't taste too meaty which I don't like, nice clean flavour. Uses: steak, in a stir fry, I used it in meal prep also. Put it in a slow cooker for a more tender meat. Price & Value Comparison: $14. 50 ($48. 33/kg) with no comparable product on the shelf. Ingredients: Australian beefOverall: My partner and I used to love buying these steaks, but found they were beginning to become watery. These steaks are also quite large so one fed my partner and I for dinner.
Such a treat! Having spent most of my formative years as a militant Vegan, I was as surprised as anyone to find that this is may just be my favourite sample so far… It was DELICIOUS!Cooked this medium rare in olive oil, with just a dash of seasoning (mostly salt, pepper and only a tiny bit of rosemary from the garden). Served with sweet potato mash, steamed asparagus and homemade hollandaise. So so good. Cheaper than the higher end Jaime Oliver stuff but just as good if you put a little bit of effort in your preparation. Also- Because it’s a good cut with little fat, my husband and I just sliced it through the middle for two ample steaks. I will definitely buy this again next time I have the spare cash.
Nice piece of steak. Very good piece of steak. Very generous being 300 gms and this can cause under cooking due to its thickness. The cryogenic packing was very tight to remove but obviously worked well. Not too stringy which indicated a nice cut of neat. At $13. 50 it was very well priced. Overall a good piece of meat to taste test. I would certainly buy it myself.
Well it was eaten before I could plate it. As the smell of delish bbq meat drifted across the outdoor patio. The curiosity of a 4 year old took over. I cooked it medium and let it rest. Took a little slice to check colour and texture. Having the little one check my every move. Her older sister. 6. Came over. what’s that? She said. Eyebrows raised? dinner... I carved another slice to cool and for them to try. Within minutes. Like piranhas. They slowly devoured the whole thing. Standing. Like the judges on master chef. All gone. Leaving me to cook up something else for them I’d say that’s a winner!
Tender. This steak was probably one of the nicest pieces of meat I have ever eaten; seared to medium, this steak was tender, juicy, hardly any fat, and beautiful tasting. Possibly a little expensive for someone on a low income, but adequate for one meal for 2 people, with salad and small new potatoes, boiled and coated in butter and parsley. Delicious meat; will probably purchase again.
