These are a source of protein and magnesium. The perfect addition to homemade curries, stir-fry dishes and are equally great for making your very own roasted.

Perfect and delicious. I love cashews and these Woolworths Cashews were no exception. The cashews were all whole and of a good size. The package was small and therefore not something I would buy (I prefer a larger pack and lower unit price) but I can see this being useful for people that don't require large amounts. The price of $3. 70 for 150g ($24. 67 / 1KG) is very reasonable and only slightly more expensive than the 450gr pack ($22. 22 / 1KG). The label states the cashews are packed in Australia from 0% Australian products, but doesn't say what the country of origin is, which is unusual and I would prefer to know. I prefer to briefly dry roast my cashews to bring out the flavour even more and ate them plain as well as on top of a curry. Would definitely recommend.

Regular Pantry Staple that's So Versatile. Cashews are a staple food in my house. We love them for snacking, cooking and for topping off stir fries etc. Natural ones have a beautiful creamy texture and are great for various uses as they are not laden with salt or other flavours. If you want to try out a nice home made vegan sour cream or cheese sauce, these cashews are perfect for that. If you don't want to do that, just snack on them. They are delicious. You might expect that a homebrand product might have second-looking cashews in, but these were all good quality nuts. A regular purchase for me.

Ambivalent feelings. I would like to start by saying my cashew of choice is roasted and salted or occasionally in chocolate. Today’s sample was dry roasted but had the taste and texture of raw nuts and were unsalted. I say was/were because I ate them all (had not eaten all day so at 3pm was starving). Not sure how much was taste and how much was hunger. I did my usual trick of taking a photo of the Woolworths email notification and asked a member of staff to help find it. He took me to the cooking section and it took a couple of minutes to find the nuts on offer. The bag was $5 for 150g so realistically it was not cheap for the amount. Much larger bags - possibly 500g - are $8-9 on special. At the checkout I was charged full price but on getting help at the Customer ... MoreAmbivalent feelings. Although I had received the email saying to scan my rewards card, it would not register the promotion. On trying the nuts I did not mind the taste but it was not a “hallelujah moment”. There was no crunch and I was sorely tempted to put some salt on the rest of the packet but I controlled myself. My bone of contention is that this is not an Australian product and country of origin was not given. Update: 3/2/20. Someone kindly pointed out that with my poor visual acuity that I had in fact trialled the dry roasted cashews and not the correct sample. I got a correct product today and tried it with the chicken that was my most recent sample. The nuts were definitely more towards the taste and texture I was expecting.

We both tried a few and they tasted fresh and firm.... rather moreish I must say!So I made some Cashew and Choc Biscuits with some and they're so tasty ..... given the thumbs up from Mr n and our visitors And I added some to my Pork Chop Suey and noodles with a sprinkle of chopped up cashews on the top. It was so tasty. They certainly are a great addition to stir fries and would be great for curries and very handy to enjoy just as a snack! These will now have a spot in my fridge with the other nuts we enjoy and I recommend you try them!
Handy. I mostly use these in baking and I find them very handy to have in the pantry. I use them as a substitute for other nuts especially walnuts as I'm not a fan. They are also handy to make your own small bag of fruit and nut mix for either the work lunch box or a little nibble at the movies. The nuts are fresh and last well. I recently made some cashew, craisin, and marshmallow rocky road. It was delicious.
Great quality but small packs for high price. Raw cashews are a staple in my household's diet. My kids and I love snacking on them and I use them in cooking making creamy sauces, vegan "parmesan" and "sour cream" that trumps the true dairy versions. So happy with this sample, if came at a good time. I was almost out of raw cashews and needed to make some cashew cream for a salad dressing. These were great quality and did just the trick. Tastes great and nice and smooth texture. My biggest issue with these is the pack size being too small for my household and needs, they also work out expensive compared to what I usually pay per kg. They will do when I'm in a pinch, however won't become a regular in my shopping cart simply because I'd rather buy 1kg+ at a time for a ... MoreGreat quality but small packs for high price. Great size. I bought these especially to use as a filling in a Vegan Lemon Line Tart. The packet was the good size for what I needed. The cashews were all intact and no rotten ones. It’s not a resealable packet which was fine as I used the whole packet. I soaked them overnight and whizzed them up for the filling. The tart was creamy and delicious. I would buy these again.
Great for snacking, except for the packing. These can be a challenge to find if you don't know Woollies 3 nut placingsThey have a big display for large packs, a nut and snack area for the medium (300 - 400 gram) size, and then the 150 gram - 200 are usually hidden in the baking area (or elsewhere). So, these are in the third area in my Woollies - the "Herbs and Spices" aisle :\Very pleased to see they aren't salted. They were tasty. If you are used to salt, you may not taste much when you eat these (or anything else without salt, to be fair). The bag is a single use type, which means you can't reseal it, which means they are harder to carry around. The nuts are imported, but packed in Australia. We tried a few each and enjoyed them. Then we decided to give them a proper test, so we discussed using them in salad, a stir-fry, and in muffins. Unfortunately, by the time we finalized our ideas, we had actually eaten all the nuts. Perhaps next time. The VerdictThe nuts - despite being oven roasted - weren't dry inside. They were beautifully soft to firm inside, and crunchy outside. And they don't leave a grease stain. These would be great on a cheese platter (or salad, a stir-fry, and in muffins). Or just snack on them until they are all gone; like we did. I marked them down one star for the price because at $5 for 150 grams we felt they were on the expensive side. But thumbs up for everything else (except the no-seal packaging)

The serving suggestion picture and easy to read product details, adds to the eye catching package. Some may prefer a resealable package, but with this size pack, it was of little concern to me! I would like to see where the ingredients are imported from and also the marking of the bag to be binned, instead to be identified as recycable instore. Well done Woolworths on this product, it's versatility and 4. 5 Health Star Rating has left me wanting more!
Handy for cooking. Product Location: In the Dried Fruits & Nut Aisle Packaging: The package has a clear area which makes it easy to see and identify the product. The wording on the front is easy to read but the font is smaller on the back and makes it a little difficult to easily read. The packaging states that you can return it to the store for recycling. It is easy to open and is not resealable. Taste: As these are natural (raw) Cashews (not salted or roasted), I think they taste best in cooking where they add texture, crunch and protein. However, whilst they have a mild creamy, or milky, taste on their own, unfortunately, these ones did not taste fresh even though they had a Best Before date in Jun 2020. However, whilst they have a mild creamy, or milky, taste on their own, unfortunately, these ones did not taste fresh even though they had a Best Before date in Jun 2020. Uses: Great in cooking and easily add texture, crunch and protein to meals or when added to a soup provide a silky taste if dairy is not used. They are easy to add to stir fries, fried rice, smoothies and will enhance many recipes. They can be soaked and then blended to make a cream or even a mayo substitute which is great for those watching their cholesterol (cashews don't have any cholesterol!). They can also be roasted and dusted with spices to make a great and healthy snack. Prices: At $3. 70 for 150g ($24. 67 per kg), these are of average value. They're also available in a 450g package that's slightly cheaper at $10. 00 ($22. 22 per kg). I would prefer that they were a product of Australia (we do grow cashews here!) and understand that could cost more, but I believe that they were be fresher. Any improvements?: As I prefer to know the country of origin of my purchases, I would appreciate knowing from which country these cashews were imported. The package only tells me that it was packed in Australia from imported ingredients. Overall: A versatile nut that has many uses. A handy pantry staple.
