Tim Tams Poor Cousin! The other week I felt like having some Tim Tams with my coffee. So I looked in Woolworths but they weren’t on sale so were quite expensive. I spotted these Woolworths Slams and I thought to myself, they look like Tim Tams so I might give them a go. I was thinking to myself ‘They probably come out of the same factory’. Unfortunately they were not like Tim Tams at all. The chocolate coating was alright but very thin. The biscuit inside was a bit soft and it had a crème inside too. Anyone who has never tried a Tim Tam would probably think these were ok. Price was just $1. 85 for the 200g packet. Made in New Zealand. I probably wouldn’t buy these again. Better to wait for Tim Tams to come on sale!

You can taste the fake. Biscuit is soft. And overall really sweet. You can practically taste just sugar crystals. Cream filling leaves an awful taste and coating on your tongue for ages afterwards. I normally buy supermarket brand Tim Tams as they're hardly that much different, just with a cheaper pricetag. But these Woolies ones were absolutely awful. No one wanted to finish the pack, yet felt compelled to not waste... only to regret it each time. Not good at all! ‍♀️

Budget Biscuit. As I type I'm sure there's at least one member of @bunchteam eating one of these I very much appreciated these chocolate biscuits for my bunchiversary Thank you. They are a budget price and might be great for families who consume a lot of biscuits. I don't buy biscuits very often so hadn't tried these until today. I like the packaging and it has a good picture on the front of what these biscuits look like plus the health star rating of 0. 5 is clearly displayed. It's no surprise that they score so low. Upon opening the packet the biscuits seemed smaller than Tim Tam and it's a harder biscuit that isn't as pleasant to eat. I could taste more sweetness and I prefer dark rather than milk chocolate. I won't be buying these but I'd recommend them to people on a tight budget.

Nice Chocolate and Caramel flavour. Slams versus Tam’s? This is a hard to beat WW!!! They are, after all, an Australian icon. We travel overseas and take them with us as gifts…along with little jars of Vegemite, ‘Snacks’ biscuits in shape of Australia…and not to forget the adorable miniature koalas. So yes, I did enjoy the Slams! In fact, it’s a great name ‘Choccy SLAMS’ nice flavour, texture and fresh crunchy sweet biscuit. But that was the part that was too sweet, the creme centre & biscuit! If it wasn’t so sweet in the middle, then I think the chocolate flavour would’ve been enhanced. Or maybe just make the outside coating with a little more chocolate. Even though the packet reads ‘coated in real chocolate’ I didn’t think it was. Perhaps that is because so many ... MoreNice Chocolate and Caramel flavour. Slams versus Tam’s? Even though the packet reads ‘coated in real chocolate’ I didn’t think it was. Perhaps that is because so many ingredients had ‘part soy’ and it countered the genuine chocolate taste. So for that reason, the Choccy SLAMS don’t match Tam’s standard, and it lost a Star rating. Thank you so much for this delicious treat for our 2nd bunchaversary Bunch

A Sweet Treat! Thanks Bunch for my Bunchiversary gift! I found these on the lower shelving in the chocolate biscuit section with a price point of $1. 65 which is less than half the price of its brand name cousin!I must declare here that we find Tim Tams too sweet so never buy them so was interested to try these Slams! They do have quite a list of ingredients and that dreaded word Palm Oil made an appearance as well! These are made in New Zealand. Two biscuits sandwiched together with a creme filling and coated in real milk chocolate. They have. 5 HSR ... not surprising! with a good six months expiry date. I thought it odd with only 11 biscuits to a pack 200g They looked abit slimmer than their cousins! Now for the taste test! I liked the amount of biscuit to ... MoreA Sweet Treat! I liked the amount of biscuit to chocolate ratio We both quite liked them but they are sweet so couldn't eat any more than one or two at one time. And it tasted like a nice chocolate and not grainy. For anyone looking for a sweet treat and not wanting to pay a high price then these are a great option.

Divine! I do not normally purchase any sweet biscuits at all, as my husband and myself try to eat quite healthy. So this was a real treat for me. OMG, I ate one from the packet and had to control myself, these are so yummy, I have been depriving myself. I remember years and years ago eating tim tams, which were delicious and expensive, I do not know what they taste like now, as I said I do not purchase sweet biscuits. I would purchase these in the future for a morning tea for my parents, or a great afternoon snack when the grandchildren arrive. They are full of taste and great value, I also located these biscuits very easily in the store.

Choccy Slams. These little delights were my bunch anniversary gift. Thank you Woolies! These biscuits are obviously a Tim Tam take off but they're quite nice. A tad sweeter then the proprietary brand but if you discount that, then they're fine. I have purchased them previously as a treat & will again but a bit less sugar would be great if you're listening please Woolies. And a few different flavours would be nice. Those damned banoffee flavoured TT's are too nice & we have a treat once a month while the G'Kids are helping me shop. Thanks again Woolies, I do appreciate the chances you give us. Product testing/tasting is great fun. Keep safe everyone & have a great weekend xx

Quality changed in the past year? I’ve tried the Choccy Slams multiple times over the years and they’ve been a great value alternative to Arnott’s TimTams. However, the latest pack I bought a couple days seems to have seen the quality change. The chocolate covering the entire biscuit was so thin that I could see the biscuit colour peeping through. The chocolate cream filling was also quite a bit thinner than I recall. Between these two noticeable differences, it made for quite a gritty biscuit which I’ve never experienced with this product before. Probably won’t re-purchase and will stick to the original when they’re back on sale.

Good if you're on a tight budget. This is a tough one. For $1. 65 they are very good value so if you're on a tight budget these would be perfectly fine. However I'd prefer to pay more and get a better quality product (i. e. real T T's). Compared to the real TT, the chocolate was thinner and darker in colour. There are definitely three classes of chocolate in the universe and unfortunately the chocolate used here is from the C Team. I don't personally think chocolate is something to skimp on but it might appeal to kids. The biscuit and cream are also quite different to the real TT. There wasn't much taste just lots of sugary sweetness. They were also harder to dissect into its individual constituents. I'll be sticking with stocking up on real TTs when they are on special.

DONT SUPPORT PALM OIL. MY FAMILY AND I AREN'T A SUPPORTER OF PALM OIL!!!!Hi Bunchee’s, I didn’t find Woolworths Choccy Slams hard to find among the biscuits, as the packaging was clear light coloured among the others. I thought over the outside stayed in tacked getting it out of the packaging and crumble making a mess. I broke it in half to have a look at the inside and could see the layers of chocolate it suggests on the packaging. If you are are a chocolate fan these are for you. Definitely Chocolate upon Chocolate upon Chocolate. I thought the chocolate though the middle was creamy but also grainy which wrecked the whole biscuit unfortunately. Our family love the Amazon and try not to buy anything with Palm oil in it. We did think Australia banned all products being supplied here by now but obviously not to my disappointment.
