Not very “mature”. I usually buy Bega on special or Coles brand mature cheddar slices, and have never tried the Woolies one before. At $8. 50 I think the larger packets seem too expensive as an initial outlay though probably better value than the 250 gram. I don’t feel comfortable spending $8 plus on sliced cheese. After buying a Bega sliced cheese a few weeks ago and finding each thin slice stuck together and being unable to prise them apart (defeating the purpose of having pre sliced cheese), next time I bought a Coles brand sliced cheese which I have been purchasing ever since. Looking more closely I realised that not all sliced cheeses are created equal - the Bega cheese contained more slices for the same weight, so the slices were a lot thinner. Looking more closely I realised that not all sliced cheeses are created equal - the Bega cheese contained more slices for the same weight, so the slices were a lot thinner. Very thin slices are a false economy because you need to use two or more slices to be able to taste it, as well as the annoyance of having the slices falling to bits when trying to seperate them. This cheese was fine and tasted the same as other brands of sliced cheese. Good percentage of Australian ingredients. Slices weren’t too thin and seperated easily enough. It’s not remarkable though and could do with being a bit stronger as it is supposed to be “extra tasty” ie stronger in flavour. This has a “extra mature” rating #4, which I don’t think is accurate. These cheaper supposedly “tasty” or “extra tasty” cheeses usually aren’t, and are pretty much all the same average strength cheese. I only use cheese slices for convenience when I can’t be bothered slicing cheese, but I would generally use two slices along with other things. Two slices on a toasty didn’t have as much taste as I hoped it would. Yes, I would consider buying it in the future but probably in a smaller size if it comes in a smaller size.

(We went all-in with our investigations for this review!)THE INDIFFERENT:* It says: "once opened, use within 7 days". Just a heads-up that they mean that. The block cheese just says to "store in an airtight container"and that was all it needed, but the sliced cheese loses its pleasant texture if kept in the original container beyond the recommended timeframe. CONCLUSION: Thanks to this sample, we were led to discover the Extra Tasty block cheese, which we both absolutely adore. If this were on special, we would consider it too, as it's basically the same thing, just packaged differently for a higher price. Thank you Woolworths/Bunch for this opportunity.

Useful cheese! This cheese was easy to spot on the shelves in the fridge section along with the other cheeses. Certainly has gone up a bit since the last time I brought it? $8. 60 for 500g or 24 slices. This was easy to open, and I do love the separate packs inside. Saves them not drying out, although I pop them into a ziplock bag anyway. I first made myself a sandwich with cheese, tuna, onion, and spinach. I quite like this cheese, but as I don't eat much cheese at all, I decided to use it on last nights potato bake. I thought this would work as good as the block would, so I cut the slices in half. And here is the end result! A lovely looking but even tasting potato bake, for Mr M, to have for his dinner and to have some containers in the freezer for down the ... MoreUseful cheese! There is no recycling instructions, but recycle ♻️ Thank you Bunch for giving me this opportunity to try this sample, although I do love this cheese I wouldn't re purchase it any time soon, as it is a little too expensive for me. Thank you to all my fellow Bunchee's for taking a look at my review.

Convenient and tasty. This sample was a bit tricky to find as it was on a shelf above eye level and lying flat with no label facing out on display on the product. Running my finger along the shelf I was able to use the display labels to locate the sample. The brand name cheeses were a lot more prominently displayed. It is a good value convenience cheese product. I like the price and I like that the cheese is packaged in two packets in a resealable pack to maintain freshness. Especially since once the pack is opened it is use within 7 days. The cheese slices separate easily. It is the perfect size for a bread slice and also sits nicely on top of four joined Saladas! Nice but pricey. We've tried this in the block form previously so knew it would be an extra tasty cheese however after seeing the price of $8-60 I thought to myself 'jeepers... it's nice but pricey'! I normally buy the Woolies Hillview cheese slices so a comparable 500 gram packet of 24 slices is $4-25 as opposed to this at $8-50 so it's a big jump in price & honestly seeing it on the shelf I would never purchase it purely being put off by the price. You can pick up a 500 gram block of this for $6-50 which I'd purchase over buying the slices. I did like that it came in 2 separate packets so you don't have to use them up all at once which keeps it fresher for longer. It's a good size with the slices however I think you would need to use them up quickly to avoid extra drying out. And I did notice a lot of small 'divets' in all the slices so I'm not sure if this is a factory cutting issue. They'll be used up in my other half's lunches as 2 slices were enough for me as I prefer the Hillview light slices so he gets to enjoy this which he's most pleased about.

Very tasty 'slice'. I was thrilled to receive this sample, as we go through a lot of sliced cheese in our house. It gets used in sandwiches, on toast, in wraps and torn up and scattered through cup noodles - just to name a few uses!I like that this product is split into two 'packs' - it would definitely help with freshness if you were taking a while to get through it (not an issue in our place!). However, I would have given it the extra 'star' if the wrapper were returnable to store or recyclable. The outer packaging is robust enough to reuse quite a few times, whether it be for storing cheese or any other odds and ends you have laying around. Often you find these are somewhat 'plasticky' and lacking in a true cheese taste. This one has that nice creamy mouthfeel and is generously sliced - not skimpy. My only other issue with this product was how difficult it was to open the inner wrapper. I had to resort to scissors, after trying a few times to pull it apart by hand. Maybe you could try a perforation or pull tab to make things easier??Overall, this was a tasty, convenient and price competitive cheese. I would definitely consider purchasing again.

So convenient. I regularly buy this cheese in a block however if we are on holidays I love the ease of use that the sliced cheese provides. p, eliminating time cutting and washing up. This is a rather large pack but it is conveniently wrapped in 250g lots so that one stays in perfect freshness and texture while the other pack is being used. The flavour of this ‘extra tasty’ cheese is relatively mellow without the sharpness of some cheddars yet with lots of flavour it would certainly appeal to all age groups. I will definitely continue to purchase these cheese slices.

Surprisingly delicious. I recently tried Woolworths Tasty Light Cheese Slices in a 500g pack, and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality. As a health-conscious individual, I am always on the lookout for lighter options that don't compromise on flavour, and these cheese slices fit the bill perfectly. One of the things I loved about these cheese slices is that they are indeed lighter in fat compared to regular cheese slices, but they still have a rich and creamy taste that satisfies my cheese cravings. In terms of packaging, the resealable pack is practical for keeping the cheese fresh and preventing it from drying out. It's also great for reducing food waste by allowing me to use only what I need and seal the rest for later use. Overall, I highly recommend Woolworths Tasty Light Cheese Slices to anyone who is looking for a flavorful and convenient reduced-fat cheese option. They are tasty, creamy, and a great addition to any sandwich, burger, or snack.

Ticks all the boxes as a presliced / packaged cheese. We are cheese lovers and always stock slices, blocks and shredded cheese on a weekly basis. I noticed a substantial difference in price from the major brands (over a $1. 00) so at $8. 60 per 24 slices I thought this was good value. The container itself is sturdy and even after constant opening / closing I thought it still sealed well. All required health information is printed on the individual packets should you need to read it. I did like that the different 'strengths' were colour coded so fairly easy to find in amongst the cheeses. The size of slice is standard, a nice thickness and didn't fold in half when picked up. I tried this in all of my normal ways - on crackers, in rolls, at a picnic (didn't melt in the daytime heat) as well as grilling (not too greasy). I could taste the cheese and thought the flavour was consistent with a 'tasty' cheese. We will certainly change current brands and start buying this one on a permanent basis.
