Great. I must confess I am new to being gluten intolerant and so have not tried many alternatives to wheat-based flour. Having said that, I adapted a loved blueberry and lemon scone recipe by substituting in gluten free flour and xanthum gum, and they worked perfectly! It meant I could enjoy the treat with the rest of my family and not be plagued by digestive issues! So, I love it

Good GF option. While we aren't dtypically a GF household, it was nice to try something different. I used the sample in blueberry muffins and was happy how they turned out. The mixture was light and couldn't taste a noticeable difference to normal plain flour. Only downside would be the price in comparison to regular plain flour. Would also like recyclable packaging.

Does the job. Almost as good as my preferred supplier of GF flour, just slight difference in texture. I generally buy my GF flours and other products from a wholesaler as the range in supermarkets is not huge but it is definitely getting better and the quality is definitely improving. I do find the packaging a little flimsy and due to the nature I would prefer a zip lock top to maintain freshness. Mostly use this for savoury items being the roux for cheese sauce (family cannot tell the difference between GF and not), when crumbing cutlets or chicken schnitzels (just because I have to eat GF doesn't mean I should miss out). Have used in cakes and made homemade pastry before - pastry is more labour intensive than non GF in having to ensure it's not overworked but ... MoreDoes the job. Yes I have bought this before and will buy again as it's handy to grab when I unexpectedly run out. Price point is not far from wholesale prices so value for money is fine. Just the packaging I would like improved.

GF but bakes like normal flour! Very impressed with this home brand flour. I used nearly all of it to try and make some traditional greek easter butter cookies (koulourakia) and they baked very well. Usually afterwards there is a gritty or weird after taste with gf products but this one tasted completely normal, very impressed. I did have to put the dough in the refrigerator for an hour to firm it up a bit, but once I rolled out the dough into a bit of flour and shaped the cookies they were perfect. Highly recommend! Well done woolies!
Great value. What I like about this - great value (compared to other brand names). When it comes to pantry staples like flour, sugar and butter, I tend to go for homebrands as I can't really tell the difference (sorry to those who are professional chefs /baking experts as I am sure you can tell the difference!)- quality is great. Not grainy nor lumpy when I make the 2 ingredients bagel (gluten free flour and Greek yoghurt is all you need!) I will make another recipe post for this - let me know if you are interested?Constructive feedback - OK, this shows my OCDI prefer buying 500g /1kg bag so would love to see it being 1kg than 750g as I always need to go back and grab another bag. Thank you bunch! I would highly recommend this to my fellow bunchees!
Excellent GF flour. I used this flour to bake GF and vegan cheesecake. The flour was very fine and actually made a better version of cake compared to the standard gluten plain flour. I love that Woolies has their own brand of GF flour so accessible. Whilst I’m not GF myself, it’s a great thing to have in my pantry for any expectant guests who are GF.
Great alternative for pancakes. We are not gluten intolerant so we normally make pancakes with regular flour and I thought this would be a good test to compare how this one tasted and how it cooked. I used this in my normal pancake recipe exactly as I would normally use regular flour. I will give you a rough guide to the recipe but keep in mind it's very rough as I rarely bother to measure things when making pancakes. I start with 3 cups of flour, a flat teaspoon of baking powder stir and leave a whole in the middle for the eggs to sit. Then prepare one cup of milk but don't add it yet. Add 3 eggs and then slowly start stirring in the milk. Add more or less milk to get the required consistancy and I don't normally use any suger as I cover them with jam and cream but ... Fry on a medium heat in the fry pan and enjoy. I found that this recipe worked equally well with this gluten free flour and the taste was also so close to the real thing that my kids didn't even notice. Top notch alternative for pancakes if you are gluten intolerant.
Good alternative flour but not the best. Great for simple baking but not good enough as a flour for sauces and/or breading chicken for example as it does clump up a fair bit as it is thicker than most gluten free flours. However for the price its a great basic flour!
Good option. I used this gluten free plain flour in two favourite recipes. The carrot cake asked for plain flour and so I used it straight from the pack. It is a bit heavier, and more like cornflour, than my usual gf flour but the cake ended up with the usual texture and taste. So all good. I then tried it in a date loaf which requires SR flour, so after adding baking powder (2 teaspoons per cup of flour) the cake was perfect and tasty. Again, all good. It's handy to be able to use one pack of flour for both purposes by keeping baking powder on hand. I don't bake often so if I keep both types the flours tends to get old before I can use them up. Unfortunately very little of the product is Australian but it is a good option for those requiring gluten free foods.
Ok for a budget GF flour. We finally got around to using this sample today to make pancakes for brunch. Son is gluten free and was looking forward to trying this sample. Initial impression on opening, quite moist and heavy compared to other GF flours. Added extra ingredients; caster sugar, bicarb, cinnamon, lactose free cream, lactose free milk, vanilla essence and an egg. Son ☠️ opted to take charge and cooked enough for everyone. The result was acceptable, palatable and easy to digest. The added raspberries, blueberries and cream/ice cream with some small toasted coconut pieces (another sample ) made for a lovely brunch. This flour is a budget price in the GF market and offers a reasonable end result. Happy to receive the sample to try. Very disappointed it is ... MoreOk for a budget GF flour. Very disappointed it is only 7% Australian ingredients and the paper packet is not recyclable or resealable. ☹️Not a first choice flour for us, better quality GF flour with higher % of Australian ingredients available and that’s what we will continue to buy. Thank you Bunch and Woolworths for the sample.
