No problems there, all gobbled up well and truly within that time period. I decanted my jar into my little olive jar, had to hunt for it as I misplaced it during my move a few years ago. So happy to have it back in use. They're not an overly plump olive, so would be perfect to use in breads, pizzas, savoury muffins. You get the idea here. They have a nice bite to them, not too soft but just right. For M and I we felt they had the perfect salty, tangy taste that you expect from an olive. They are of course stuffed with the tradition red pimentos, which are small red peppers that are low down on the old scoville scale. Which makes them the perfect little partner for the green olive, also the green and red look nice together. When fresh off the tree the poor old green olive can be bitter, so is more traditionally soaked in some brine. Even then the taste of them can be improved by adding a little bit of pimento. Last night I had a late night sneaky snack and ended up eating all these garlic and chilli green olives. Huge olives and sooooooo nice. So I thought I might try and make some of my own with these olives, 3 crushed garlic cloves plus 5 small chillies chopped up tiny and seeds left in. A good old slosh of good quality oil added and there you go. Very happy with the taste of these, Mr loved it but feels they'll be a bit hot for me. Will leave for a few days so the flavours can infuse properly, but I think I'll be fine. Not going to tell him I ate all the others, what he doesn't know he wont miss. We'll continue to purchase these, great for adding to sharing platters with cheeses and cold cuts. Great to have on hand, you never know when they'll come in handy.

I threw away the bottle to recycle as I couldn’t reuse because the bottle is too long for me to store anything in and to use easily. A more short and wide bottle would be good. Overall, we enjoyed this low price jar of olives.

However, taking my bunch duties seriously, I decided to give olives another try with this sample I found the fairly plain, unassuming jar on the bottom shelf below other olives and similar products. For $2, the size of jar and amount of olives seems very good. They were evenly sized, smallish, with a firm texture. Some were missing their pimento stuffing from the middle. Bravely, I tried an olive straight from the jar, but it was way too salty for my taste. Undeterred I rinsed another one off and tried again. Good value, nice size. These were good value for $, olives were nice texture, not mushy, good size and the jar was good size for easy use. Found them little bit salty for Palin eating ( but then again have been cutting back on salt lately so may be my current taste. Used them for 3 things. Antipasto plate with other olives and cheese etc. - all were eaten and these disappeared equally as fast as the very expensive ones; sliced on pizza nice not to have to pit them and they added nice flavour and look for great price point; in a chicken casserole ( slow cooker) as was running out by this point supplemented with same type but more expensive branded that I had in pantry for total amount the favour in casserole was good and once cooked I couldnt taste or see any ... MoreGood value, nice size. The size is quite small compared to some other brand named olives. This is perfect for snacking on, or putting on your pizzas, as an ingredient to brighten up your bread, or pop in your salad or pasta. For me with these little darlings, I like to eat as a snack or from a little dish with my lunch. Instead of grabbing a sweet treat I often pop the lid and extract a few. Sometimes it is hard to stop, but after a while because of the saltiness, it’s a bit like drinking seawater. I do find these are much saltier than some other brands I have tried and with 1650mg salt per 100g it would be good if this was component was toned down quite a bit, especially for those of use than can eat loads of them. As it recommends 18 serves per pack, I think we average 8. 2. 5 Health Star rating is low considering olives are meant to be good for you. Probably because of the high salt content. This is hard to compare with other brand named overseas products that are void of an HSR. With these olives being much cheaper the quality isn’t quite there throughout the entirety of the jar. I had many that seemed they were ‘seconds’. These were bruised and torn. Seems the lesser quality is destined for the home brand range. This isn’t the first time, as most of the Woolworths stuffed with pimento olives I have bought, resembled the same. To add to the lower quality, I usually get a few that doesn’t have any Pimento in. Overall for the price, this product is great for adding to baking products and for snacking but not really destined for an elegant display on your antipasto platter. Great with other ingredients. This is easily found on the shelves with the rest of the olives. Once opened, it’s advised to be refrigerated & consumed within 15 days. I usually keep my olives longer than that but will check them first if I haven’t consumed them in that time. These olives are stuffed with pimento paste, a red heart shaped pepper, which is very mild in taste. The olives had a uniform size and colour. I find these cheaper olives overly salty & not suitable for an antipasto. In saying that, these are great on pizzas, pasta sauces & Moroccan tagines. Salty but nice. These olives are outstanding value for the amount you get in a jar. Jam-packed full of green olives, already pitted, stuffed with red pimento and soaked in a salty, mildly acidic brine – all the prepping already done. I liked the simple shape of the jar and would love to re-purpose it for jams, sweets and dressings. The green olives have a nice texture, just tenderly firm and suitable for adding to casseroles, cheese platters, salads, pizzas, breads or dips - really versatile. Salt alert to those cutting back on salt as it's one of the main ingredients!Whilst I’d buy the large kalamatas for straight snacking, I’d use these green ones for cooking to tone down the saltiness. Pricewise, no quibbling at $2 for 450g jar. Si compra!
