Love that the veal is extra lean. I found this sample packet of Woolworths Heart Smart Veal Schnitzel easily. Mine weighed about 390gms and was just under $14. I liked the tight packaging and there were six fairly even and lean slices in the packet. The slices were thin which I don’t mind but would like them to be a little thicker. I removed the tiny piece of fat on the edge of each piece and gave each piece a little hammer with the meat tenderiser using the thick plastic of the packet to protect the meat from damage. I floured, egg washed and crumbed the schnitzels before putting them in the fridge to set the crumb coating. Four of us thought the meat was very tender and tasty and would definitely purchase this Australian veal in the future. Next time I will make these into veal cordon bleu.

Delicious !! This product was easy to find in the meat section, even though the label says sizzle steak, not schnitzels This meat is 100% Australian with no added anything. The pack contained seven slices of evenly cut veal and no visible fat. I gently flattened each piece, coated in flour, then egg and finally a breadcrumb mix (panko, crummies, cornflake crumbs and parmesan cheese)They were quick to cook and the taste was fabulous... the meat was tender and juicy and the breadcrumbs added a lovely crunchy texture. i will purchase again soon, and I'll make veal scallopini next time. I'm happy to recommend this product and thank Woolies and bunch for this sample

Fluffy loved it . Act |: As a vegan I felt hesitant to get this product or not. I’ve been trying to feed my dog only green salads lately but he hasn’t been eating it, he must be full or something. The vet told me that he has lost 10lbs and needs a healthy nutritious diet, or what ever that means. Act ||: So I eventually decided to feed him his “correct” diet, and surprisingly dogs love raw meat! Wow I’ve never seen him eat that quickly before. Fluffy continued to mark and go ballistic at how much he loved it. I realised that some of the meat had actually gone flying out from his mouth when he was eating in excitement. Fluffy didn’t realised the left over meat and I thought to my self “what the heck” and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Act |||: No return. ... MoreFluffy loved it . Since the divorce I’ve felt empty but woolies has really turned a leaf and new chapter in my life. Here’s a photo of our dinning area. ;)

Tender and delicious. I made these into schnitzels with panko crumbs, fresh sage and a little bit of parmesan, then quickly pan fried in a bit of butter and olive oil. They were extremely tender and moist. The slices were thin and delicate but even in thickness. My husband and I thought they were delicious, I've always liked veal schnitzels but in the past he hasn't been a big fan of the mild flavour of veal. The teenagers weren't fans of the mild flavour and weren't comfortable with the baby cow factor. I did notice they ate around half of theirs before the discussion about what veal actually is started, not a lot was eaten after this point. More for us!Definitely something I will purchase again, maybe when the kids aren't around.

Tender Tasty Veal. I was happy to receive this sample of extra lean veal sizzle steak. But upon lifting the plastic from the tray the way the veal was cut I really couldn't do too much with it. There were quite a few very small pieces which I cut up and made a stir fry and from the rest I only got four small snitzels. On the tray the slices looked big but that was the way they made them look by placing the small pieces on top which then made them look big, very deceiving. I must admit though that after the veal was cooked in both ways it was very tasty and very tender. For the way the veal was presented and for what I got I thought it was quite expensive and I don't think I will be buying it again. I appreciate though the generous sample.

Heart Smart Veal. Heart Smart Veal Schnitzel isn't something I have bought before. It was easy to find in the beef section of the meat department. Lots there to choose from. I Crumbed the veal in herbed crumbs with parmesan cheese and pan fried. The veal was tender and tasty. It was really quick to cook as the 8 slices were very thin. I served 2 of these schnitzels with mashed potatoes, mixed vegies and I made a creamy garlic sauce to pour over. It was delicious. Every bit was eaten, 2 peices was enough per person. Veal isn't my first choice of meat, but we did enjoy it. A little on the expensive side. I may buy these again.

Convenient, healthy, tasty and versatile! What a great product. Perfect for an easy and quick meal and so versatile. I first tried these dusted in seasoned flour and very quickly pan fried on a medium/high heat to get a nice crust on the outside but still pink inside. Took them off the heat and de-glased the pan with a splash of brandy, added a splash of cream and some ready to go tinned peppercorns. Served with mash and some greens they came out really well and had a meal super quickly. I also tried them panko crumbed with gravy and again they were a big hit. Expensive per kilo as is all meat these days but they go a long way so will be buying them again for a meaty treat now and then.

Perfect. Absolutely loved these Veal Schnitzel’s as they were extremely tender, juicy and flavoursome and impressed that they have less than 1% saturated fat. I did use a meat mallet to make them slightly larger and thinner and decided to crumb them with a combination of panko crumbs, lemon rind, parmesan and fresh chopped parlsey. Added some olive oil into the frypan and cooked for just under a minute on each side, not only was it easy but very convenient for a quick dinner. At first I had thought the store didn’t have any in stock but eventually found them hiding under some other beef meat sizzle products that had been put on top of these ones, so for me they were a little hard to find but I’m sure this isn’t normally the case. I was very appreciative of the opportunity to sample these and as we enjoyed them so much they will now become a regular purchase for us. Can highly recommend.

The Goldilocks of meat. This cut of veal is incredibly thin and mild in terms of flavour. I prepared them two ways, the first, following the instructions of the packet, and the second, dusting the steaks with a little seasoned flour (both were cooked to medium rare-ish). This cut really needs a lot of seasoning and a great deal of care needs to be taken to not overcook them and let them rest. The ones in flour benefited from the added layer of protection and, if I had my time again, I would have coated them in breadcrumbs. p. s. When I reheated the leftovers, the meat became incredibly tough, definitely would only recommend eating them freshly cooked.

Top notch. I buy this on average once a week so to get it as a sample was both very exciting and also a shame (as i missed out trying something new!). I always make schnitzels with them. They are very thin but my kids like that (i probably prefer ever so slightly thicker but not like the old days of going to a country pub and getting a crumbed steak, which was basically a rump steak crumbed!!) You sometimes have to be careful as some of the meat looks either un uniform, and due to the thinness can fall apart when handling but you can tell from looking at it thanks to the transparent packaging. If i do find none of the meat looks any good and there are no suitable other packets i then go and buy the pork schnitzel (which is cheaper). The price in the butchers near me ... MoreTop notch. The price in the butchers near me for crumbed veal schnitzels is about $70-90 a kilo so there is no way i will be paying that. I buy this product and make my own.. that said i found one the other day that sells them for $45 so i can see myself taking short cuts every now and then!Verdict: I will always buy this as the quality is usually good and the price is spot on.
