The downside of this cake is the ingredients list which is extremely long and the HR of 1. 5 so as an occasional treat or for a celebration. The container was easy to open and keep cake stored in though no instructions on whether it is recyclable.

Since we're now effectively just a couple, eating heaps less sugary foods and any birthday celebrations are relatively small, then for us this is a great size. It provides 4 reasonable size pieces which is usually more than enough. We can enjoy a treat without overindulging. In the past I've also wanted to buy a decorative-looking cake but a smaller one for an elderly friend's birthday as an additional gift, without spending a fortune, and many were way too big. This fits the bill perfectly. At the end of the day it does come down to taste so I did try this to give my review. Hubby loved it and while normally I wouldn't pick this flavour I enjoyed it too. It was moist, and rich without being excessively so. Not overly sweet so for us just right. It had a good balance of chocolate and caramel flavour and a good texture. I would definitely buy this again, or one of the other flavours offered in this range and size. Good price, good taste, and looks pretty and almost gourmet. I can highly recommend this cake for any smaller gathering or smaller fmaily celebrations. It also is a good way of encouraging us to eat less as far as portion size. And with so many people with various food issues having the options of smaller celebratory cakes means less waste if you need more than one to accommodate everyone's needs.

Lovely dessert with tea or coffee. This was lovely tasted like a chocolate mud cake ( couldn’t taste the caramel but I didn’t mind that because I don’t really like caramel). the mention of caramel seemed like it was going to be very rich and sugary but the taste was perfect! Not very sweet and not too rich. i love that this was aussie made with predominantly aussie ingredients! the packaging need not mention the hazelnuts and choc bits as this was more a garnish at the top with very limited amounts. The packaging saying this makes it sound like it’s inside the cake too which would have been nice. I don’t think that plastic collar is needed around the edge of the cake- we need to reduce our waste. thank you for letting me try

Very indulgent and was a nice treat! Taste - this was very indulgent! Not too sweet even with the caramel icing. Price - at the cost of $7. 80 (as of this writing), for me, this is a good and economical treat. Storage - as a single household, I will (and could) never eat this in one sitting. When I got this sample, I immediately placed it inside the freezer. If I am craving for it, I would cut a slice and I would place it inside the fridge for defrosting. This kept going until I finished the whole thing. I'm happy to say that even after defrosting, the texture and the taste were okay! Overall - one of the best samples I've had :) thanks bunch!

Best cake ever and so moist. What a delicious cake this is not dense like a mud cake a lovely moist chocolate cake with a delicious frosting. We have this cake quite often so I was over the moon to get it as a sample. A great plastic cake case in comes in keeps the cake in perfect condition. Few little nuts on top and a lovely swirl of caramel with icing. So good.. Quite Rick so you don’t need a large slice. Easily feed up to 8 people. Would even be nice served with strawberries or little cream. Defiantly an indulgent cake. This cake has gone up since last purchasing it but hasn’t everything.. , Will continue to buy for morning tea treats as everyone loves it. A big 5 star review from us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you bunch!

A rich desert. Second day trying to get the cake it was still on the pallet out the back. it looks small but weighty and goes a long way. Only small pieces needed. The labels bright you can tell it’s a Woolies brand straight away. The container was sealed really well and took a minute to seperate with arthritic hands on the small plastic corner. Once opened the cake only needed to be cut into small pieces as you could see it was so rich you didn’t need much. The chocolate cake was very moist and the caramel very sweet I loved it but the wife found it too sweet she couldn’t eat it. I enjoyed the couple of hazel nuts texture with it, a couple more would have been nice.
