Back-up Veg, ready to go any time. I much prefer fresh bought vegetables, but not everyone can access the peeler and deal with that tedious and time-consuming work in the kitchen. For convenience or necessity, these carrots are great because they have a guarantee of Aussie-grown, snap-frozen freshness and nutrition and are easy to access by opening a bag! They are not overly expensive, but a little deceptively labelled. These are not truly "julienne" veggies, but very acceptably chopped and inconsistent with the addition of some rustic dark bits of mystery stalk or other "stuff" from the outside of the carrot. I would have liked to try something creative with this sample, but for a first use, I stuck to a straight-out stove-top boil to add to a simple, uninspired ... MoreBack-up Veg, ready to go any time. That's where these work. If you can ignore the unavoidable "frozen veg" softness, these were still colourful and had reasonable taste. I think these will be great to experiment with in winter-time, def for soups but, dare I suggest, baking (not sure what that would be like)? I had a quick search through the reviews so far but did not notice much experimentation.... yet. Keen to find out what other Bunchees are doing.

So convenient! I love having these in the freezer for days where I just cannot be bothered or when I accidentally forgot to buy carrots for dinner and realise too late. These are super convenient, already cut for you, such a time saver and they taste great! The bag is a decent size and they last forever in the freezer. I often find frozen veggies go a bit soggy when cooked but these held their shape and texture just fine.

Freezer Fail Safe. We normally eat fresh carrots but I loved the convenience and security of having these in the freezer in case I had run out or was really time poor, frankly the kids could heat them up themselves in the microwave if need be so ease of use was great. I love that that are Australian grown which is a big plus in my eyes. The kids love them and quite happily clear a serve without batting an eyelid, so the shape is obviously appealing to little fingers and mouths and they certainly look more natural (unlike the cubes). The texture isn’t up to that of a cooked fresh carrot but it’s a frozen product and so very hard to replicate that crunch but it wasn’t an unpleasant texture at all. So price is good, taste and texture good, packaging clear and fresh looking meaning I will certainly buy again and have a packet tucked away.

Finally Was Able to Try Julienne Carrots. Last week I was unable to review this product because there was none available in store. I kept checking, and even visited another Woolies store, but still there was no stock. In fact the entire frozen veggie cabinet was looking very sad at both stores, so there were obviously some serious supply prpoblems. Anyway, when I went in today, there they were in stock! So, I made a point of trying them tonight. I should start by saying I am not a huge fan of frozen veggies. I appreciate that they are often fresher than fresh produce since they are processed and frozen at the peak of their freshness. However I find them harder to cook while retaining a crisp texture. 4This was the case with the Julienne Carrots. It was very ... MoreFinally Was Able to Try Julienne Carrots. It was very convenient to simply open the packet and cook them but I found the cooked carrots too soft and lacking that fresh carrot taste. Also, I think it is more accurate to call them chopped carrots, since they are much larger than normal julienne sticks and many of them were cut across the carrot. So, plus marks for convenience but minus marks for taste and texture.

Frozen carrots was a first for me. In my freezer you are likely to find frozen corn and peas but not carrots. This is a product I had not considered ever buying frozen before. In my mind all I could imagine was watery mushy carrots and that was not appealing to me. It turns out that I was so very wrong. The key to ensuring you get the best out of these carrots as with any frozen vegetables is cooking them the right way. Microwaving or boiling left me with a limp soggy mess. I found roasting, sautéing or frying was a great option or adding toward the end of cooking into soups and casseroles also worked well. The julienne cut of the carrot was a nice change for my family as I had not gone to the trouble of cutting them this way before. However the pieces were not very uniform in size and not all the tops of the carrots had been removed which I am not a fan of. The packaging was a winner for me telling me in no uncertain terms this is an Australian product. It also introduced the farmers (Tom, Simon and Sam) who grew the produce which I thought was a nice touch. Frozen vegetables are definitely a good investment eliminating on waste, saving time on prep, are longer lasting and conveniently available when needed. They are picked at peak ripeness then snap frozen within hours of harvest retaining maximum nutrient levels. This was a great eye opening trial for me and my family. Frozen carrots will now be in my freezer along side the peas and corn.

Changed my impression of frozen carrots (for the better). These are the first frozen carrots I've actually liked. Normally they are rubbery, but these are good. I've used them in several meals, and still have some left. One minor niggle (which doesn't reduce my opinion of them)is they are Julienne. They are short pieces of differing thicknesses, but still a good product. I don't buy frozen carrots (or chopped, bagged carrots) as I prefer fresh (and they are cheaper). But I would have no hesitation recommending these to someone who is looking for frozen carrots.

Great tasting carrots. After getting this as a sample, I wasn't sure what to make with frozen carrots. At the same time as getting this sample, Masterfoods had a special (at Woolworths) on their Honey Mustard Chicken Recipe Base 175g. I made this with these frozen carrots instead of fresh carrots. It tasted great!I will definitely keep buying these as a staple freezer item!

Prefer Fresh Carrots. This is the first time I have tried frozen carrots. I prepared a handful which were sweet but a little soft which could be because I over cooked them. The carrots are cut in julienne strips but not uniform in shape and it's as though some are scraps and not cleaned properly with black bits. If you are preparing a small amount, there's no need to cook them for the suggested guided time of 2 mins (which should be common sense ) and blanching them is all you need to do. The map of Australia on the front of the pack is big enough to notice and it's great to make shoppers aware that the carrots are Australian grown. When you do the math, the price of $2 for 500g (making it $4 per kilo) is not worth it when you can pick up loose fresh carrots for cheaper or get a 1kg prepacked bag for $1. The carrots could be used in soups or pureed, but the texture is not suitable for my cooking needs and I wouldn't put them in salads. So these wouldn't be part of my shopping list, not even for convenience/or if I ran out as the family prefer the taste of fresh carrots.

Great product & convenient! The bag I picked up for the bunch unfortunately had a hole in it so i wasn’t keen on trying that bag just incase.. so i binned that lot and ended up buying another bag so I could review the product. these are great you wouldn’t know they are frozen honestly they tasted great and super convenient. I just mix them in with my peas & corn and they steam all together perfectly

Big high five from me! Didn't have to worry about these carrots going black and sprouting whiskers at the bottom of my crisper!I was really pleased with this sample. It is so convenient to keep in the freezer and use when you can't be bothered to cut up vegetables yourself, which seems like most days for me lately. They were a decent size and there wasn't much ice in the bag. Really great to have on hand to steam as an accompaniment to a steak, schnitzel or Kiev or added to a casserole, stir-fry, curry or even pureed down to a yummy soup. My brain even went to carrot cake but I thought no, yuk! And tracked backwards on that idea, but who knows, maybe someone knows a recipe. I most likely will buy this packet again at Easter and make the same thing again on Good friday as it is always a winner with guests. Fantastic that it is a product of Australia and you can recycle the bag through Red cycle. So basically I couldn't find any negatives with this product. Seems to be a great all-rounder, easy to store in the freezer and a bargain price. I definitely recommend this product to everyone especially to those who enjoy frozen vegetables and the convenience of using them. You can't go wrong.
