Simply The Best. This sour cream has been my Number 1 for years and now with it's new tub I find it so much more user friendly. With the old cardboard containers I always ended up with those crusty bits falling into the cream and created a lot of waste when it dried out. Quite happy to try the Woolworths branded sour cream as I believe they will all taste pretty similar. Plain labelling with a splashing of turquoise on a white container. I like that the more is an image of Australia containing the words “made with Australian milk” I liked that like many other sour creams on the market that the tub comes with a foil seal as well as a reusable plastic lid to keep it fresh once you have opened it. I normally buy the full cream Woolies brand sour cream, and haven't tried the lite. The only time I buy a premium brand is for my potato bakes because I don't think the WW brand is as good for this long time baking, it gets very watery. But the price point is excellent, at $2. 20 for 300ml so it's my go to for everyday use. I don't think there was a noticeable taste difference between lite and full cream. So that's a good thing for a healthier choice. Thick Sour Cream. YAY! Thank goodness bunch changes and improves our products. Myself and others who got the sour cream in the carton made it quite well known in bunch how we didn't like the carton and how sour cream would go all gooey on the opening and they were hard to get into without opening the whole lid/carton up. Now we have this container with lid. The lid comes off and you can stick your spoon in to scoop out some very thick sour cream. Definitely purchasing it again. 300ml's is suitable but wouldn't mind if there was a bigger option. It does last quite a long time in the fridge and having a bigger option allows me to use it in a variety of ways over time. Impressive. I find that this Sour Cream is just as good as other brands that I have used. The texture is thick and creamy and has a lovely mild sour taste to it. I regularly purchase Sour Cream as I do find it is such a versatile product, adding it to various Sauces, Soups, Cakes and Casseroles and is great in a Potato Salad or on top of Jacket Potatoes. I particularly like that Woolworths have changed the packaging to a tub with a lid as I’m finding it much easier to store once opened compared to the previous carton. Comparing it to other brand prices this works out economical at only $2. 20 for 300ml, it’s made from 99% Australian Ingredients and as expected has a low HSR of 0. 5. In my house it gets used in lots of ways - as an ingredient in casseroles / pasta bakes / dressings, to serve over mexican dishes / potatoes and as a 'dollop' on salads / hamburgers and the like. I used this sample over two nights - the first as part of the dressing for my Mexican Pasta Salad (which I made with another sample, the macro GF spirals)and the second night it was spread on top of @eve152's amazing Rice Cheesy Melt (a regular feature of our weekly menus - thanks @eve152). So obviously plastic serves a purpose for packaging some things that never needed to be changed to begin with. Great delicious buy. Our first choice. I just hope the plastic used is BPA free... IDEA: (yes, I'd want royalties for my practical idea) I see the only way to prevent the sludge and product from drying out would be to revolutionise the way we think about packaging and dishing up this product. How about thinking about making it in a squeasy bottle with flip top cap like the mayonnaise but with a wider mouthed nozle so you can still get a generous dollop of sour cream on your potato or whatever you enjoy it on? 21st century sour cream
