Great time saver. 90 second rice and no sticky pot? Bring it!Great time saver, perfect serving size for 2 people, great for fried rice, makes a perfect rice salad. At $1. 75/250 g pack (2 serves), it is a very competitive price but still an expensive option. However, as there is no waste and only 90 seconds heating time in the microwave, it is a great addition to the pantry. I use this rice almost exclusively now (unless I’m making a risotto) and love the convenience, taste and texture. Contains antioxidants, a stabiliser and sunflower oil so check that to ensure no allergens to affect use for your family. Great product, I will buy again for sure! Thank you for the opportunity to try this product.

Quick and Convenient. Woolworths Microwave Long Grain Rice - family sized is priced at $2. 50 for a 450g pouch. The packaging suggests you have enough rice to serve four people, and this can be quickly heated up in 2. 5 minutes. The reheating process was spot on and the grains had a decent texture and moistness level as well. While this was one of the better microwave rice offerings I have tried, I also think that the serving size is not quite right. This was not enough to feed my family, (two adults & three public school aged children) and I think that you would struggle to make it go around if your family consisted of older kids, or more adults etc. Made in Thailand, this rice has a 3. 5 health star rating and is naturally gluten free. Mediocre Microwave Rice. I always think cooking fresh rice is a lot better - tastes better with a better texture. But these are good if you need something quick. I usually choose a different brand of microwave rice so this was my first time trying. Compared to other brands, this one was not that great. The texture was a bit dry and tasted a little like plastic. Not my favourite but if you’re in a time stretch then I guess this one is competitive for its price point. Probably won’t buy this one but it was good to try a different brand. Would like to see more sustainable packaging though as it is not recyclable plastic.

Quick and easy option. I'm a big fan of microwave rice, mainly for it's convenience, ie to take to work and just heat up or to add to some leftovers. I generally wouldn't use it for a whole meal as I would just cook rice myself but if I was lazy on a given night/forget to put rice on when I'm cooking dinner, then this pack would be great. For a family size pack, it would probably be a bit small for 2 adults & 2 older teens, but I think that's just due to most people not sticking to recommended serve sizes! (It would probably be the same if you read and followed the serving size on normal dry rice I assume). I would buy this again on occasion, however I normally buy the single serve cups or the 2 serve pouches due to them being a more convenient size for me.

Good value, fluffy rice. I thought that this was the perfect option to add to a meal in a hurry as it was so easy and quick to cook. The serving sizes were quite decent and the rice was of a soft and fluffy texture. As it contained minimal ingredients it was quite versatile and would suit both sweet and savoury dishes. It would be very convenient to have these in the pantry for simple meals and the size of the packet would be very suitable for a couple although I would probably purchase the bigger option for my household. Overall, the value of this was excellent and I would purchase it again.

Nice rice. I usually buy the rice cups as I look for one. But who would have known that when I recieved this sample I had moved in to care for my mum as she had a very bad fall and Fractured the head of her humerus! So I was now cooking for 2! I made a batch of Marian's massaman curry and got my sample of the rice and purchased another as we had the meal for two nights... The rice is excellent. No waste. No fuss cooking. Great price. Great taste and texture. Mum is recovered.. I am back to cooking for 1 so back to the cups. I recommend woolworths homebrand rice to everyone. It doesn't matter the size of packet nor the of type rice as I have tried then all with great success.

Good Fast Rice. This is easily found in the rice section in the aisle where all the other dried rice varieties are found. This is a very convenient option for a rice for 2 with mains. The pack states Family Size for 4, but I think it's more for 2 adult sizes. The instructions are spot on and cooked up well. The rice grains were nice and separated, no clumps of rice. I had this with a curry over 2 nights, but would be good in tuna salad or other type of salad. I don't think the price for convenience is that good at $2. 50 for 450g of cooked rice. I don't find rice difficult or long to cook, so this won't be a future purchase for me. It doesn't have the same texture and taste as cooking via the absorption method on the stove top or in a rice cooker. * 3. 5 Health ... MoreGood Fast Rice. Convenient Steamed Rice. Convenient to have in the pantry. I have had this for a while in my pantry. Made stir fry tonight. Lazy day. Followed the instructions. Tore corner to vent and heat. Be careful once heated. Use a pair of scissors to completely cut the pouch as it was hot. I emptied the pack in a bowl. (Photo of how much is in the family size pouch). Mentions serves 4 (not enough if you have boys). Lucky I need to control my carbohydrates so I got a small serve with my stir fry. Nice recipe on the back for a rice and tuna salad. Made in Thailand. I just checked ingredients has sunflower oil, stabiliser and antioxidant. it mentions doesn’t have preservatives - can someone tell me if that is correct. Too tall for my microwave. Easily found in the rice section made in Thailand I followed the instruction of tearing off only a top corner, but the packet is too tall to fit in my microwave. Was worried liquid might leak out if I laid it sideways, so had to kind of scrunch the pouch down to get the microwave plate to spin. Which is quite hard to do with the very thick plastic. I do not agree with the statement that it makes 4 serves. A quarter of this packet is too small for an adult size serve in my opinion. I suggest that the packet makes 3 adult size serves. $2. 50 for 3 adult serves = approx 83c per serve. Expensive compared with buying raw rice, but not prohibitive if you want the added convenience of saving 17 minutes of cooking time. Once I was able to get it ... MoreToo tall for my microwave. Quick but be careful. Microwave rice. Who would have thought? Next thing Woolies will be selling microwave ovens. . After microwaving, the rice comes out fluffy and a little glucky and HOT. Just be careful that you don’t overheat it as it becomes dry very quickly. Great innovation and good size for two people. There is another size - 450g - if you need more for more people, so watch out for that. Just be very careful when fully opening the packet as it is really hot air escaping initially. Get that right and you’re good to enjoy this product.
