Pork is Good. Thanks Bunch for my sample. Have bought these before and have always enjoyed, even Mr B and he isn't a fan of pork. Braised sticky, just so enjoyable. Lately though I've noticed them to be more fatty, so I'm on the lookout for more meaty ones. With Mr B being how he is I don't want to risk buying them, thanks all. Cheers.

Very delicious - even if fatty. I had never heard of "Pork Rashers" before, so of course I Googled to find they are sliced bits of pork belly - which I have heard of and tasted - yum. I just cooked them in the oven fat side up and liberally salted to get it all crispy and crunchy. When I saw these I was concerned about the huge layer of fat so I dug through them until I found a pack with the least amount of it. As others have said it did render away and I ended up with a lot of the fat left in the pan so I could scrape and toss in the bin. Plus it's not like I'd eat these every day - I considered them a delicious treat. The day I got mine these were on special - they're usually $21 something per kg. On special I think the price is just OK. I had 7 rashers in my pack ... MoreVery delicious - even if fatty. But I had to take off a star due to the tray not being recyclable To make up for the amount of fat I had these with broccoli and carrots - to make myself feel at least half good

Not for me. I have never tried cooking with this before. But the packaging suggested that it could either be pan fried or barbecued. So i put it in a pan. This was by far the fattiest meat i have ever encountered, I was just shocked by it and really didn't know what to do with it. As it cooked the fat began to break down and pooled in the pan making a splattery mess. I'm not sure why the package recommended this cooking style. A barbecue designed to drain away fat would have been preferable i think. I have given it a low rating mainly because the recipes i found online showed pictures of the what the meat should look like and it was more like streaky bacon, rather than the large lumps of fat that I ended up with, so I don't believe this is a quality product even if ... MoreNot for me. Looks can be deceiving! These appeared to be very thick bacon. Lots of pork fat and very little meat. So seeing lots of fat I cooked them in the AirFryer. (Itâs been too cold for BBQâs)They were delicious! The fat melted into the bottom tray. Remaining in the basket was well browned meat with thin strips of fat sections. We had a few rashers left over, so I froze them and used them later. They really added flavour to my fried rice dish. They are very versatile either to eat âas isâ or to cut into pieces as a flavour boost to something more bland. Australian Porkâ To find out anymore about the details of this product you need to contact the number given in Product Details on packageâŚI suspect they have Nitrates as preservativeâŚWe donât eat much bacon as we try to ... MoreLooks can be deceiving! Too fatty. This was a sample. It took me a while to sample this, I had placed this in the freezer till I knew how its going to be cooked. My hubby placed this a slow cook pot with water and bbq as thought ok a way to cook it but said it was a test of how to cook it. It turned out fine, the pork rashers cooked well but he reccomends other people should use their own nixed flavour to suit their taste buds. After it was cooked, not a alot of meat, not enough even for 2 or even a family of 4 which we used it for, but we made do, too much fat but when tried the meat it was tender. No photo as it was hubby who cooked it and forgot to take a photoI recommend to use a slow cook pot for this product only. I wouldn't be buying this again as we don't like to much fatty meats ... MoreToo fatty. This was a sample. Char Sui pork. How excited was I to get this sample as we have bought this before and always had good results. As we haven't been out of the postcode for a long time and crave a bit of take away from far away we automatically thought Char Sui pork. I know it is normally made with the pork loin but fat is where the flavour is and these fatty little rashers were just begging to be marinated in char sui sauce. We have made our own in the past but the bottle off the shelf in Woolies still does a better job although not as good as the favourite yum cha place in the CBD. We marinated these for a day and then grilled them up and they were delicious. With the left overs we sliced it up and put in the freezer ready to add to our next fried rice. $10. 88 for this batch which ... MoreChar Sui pork. However as it doesn't say hormone free I am trying not to think about their living conditions.
Melt in your mouth. I found these easily in the packaged meat section. I asked my wonderful friend/neighbour to try these for me as we are not big pork eaters. Friends reviewâThe packaging was good as you could see the top and bottom of the rashers. There wasnât one of those absorption pads in the packet, yet these wasnât any moisture in the container. They were the meatiest rashers Iâve seen. . I had problems opening the packet and had to use a sharp knife to cut around the edge of the container (I have arthritis in my hands). I kept two rashers to cook straight away and froze the rest individually for later. I cut into the rind about 1cm apart and about the same depth. I salted the rind and placed the rashers, salt side down, on a plate and left uncovered in the ... MoreMelt in your mouth. I found these easily in the packaged meat section. I salted the rind and placed the rashers, salt side down, on a plate and left uncovered in the fridge for 3 hours. I used a heavy based fry pan on medium/high heat, with a little oil, and placed the rashers â rind side down and cooked them until the rind was crispy. I lowered the heat and cooked the rashers on each side until brownedâ. The verdict â âThatâs the best pork Iâve had in a long time. Melt in your month, absolutely melt in your month. It wasnât that strong porky flavour Iâve had before. Just the best. I also ate both pieces!! I had planned to use the second one cold and cut up into slices to have on crackers. If you ever see them on markdown, Iâll have a packetâ.
Ok but not great. Iâll preface this review by saying I am not the biggest lover of pork. I marinated the pork rashers with a smoky bbq marinade and cooked them whole in a baking dish in the oven. I think I put too much marinade over the top of them as they were looking like they were getting beautiful and crispy and the sauce caramelising at one point and then i turned them over to get the other side looking good as well. 5 mins later I checked and they looked like they were stewing in their sauce. I didnât love dish this but my partner said he liked them. I think I chose a pack with too much fat as the pieces I ate were 90% fat and hardly any meat. We wonât be in a rush to purchase them again, but when we eventually do I will look for a pack that isnât 90% fat and ... MoreOk but not great. Versatile. We love pork. I have bought these a lot, as rashers are versatile and the family loves them. Lately though tbe quality seems to have dropped. The cuts have been quite small and mostly fat. Keeping my eye out for when they are better quality again.
Tough choice - fat ones or skinny ones! Depending on what I could get, it will be the choice of cooking. Have them grilled with crispy skin for fatty ones as always a hot favourite in this household. For skinny ones, cook in Asian style with light and dark soya sauce, chinese cooking wine, star anise, 5-spice and added tau foo at the end. Difficult decision! Since the it has been cold few nights, we ended having them in the Asian style as the cooking warmed up the kitchen and the end results, it warmed up our tummy too. Ate them with a plate of Asian vegetables and rice. The pork was a lovely tender texture. I have always bought them, versatile with endless ways to cook them.
