As Good As Brand Names. This was easy to find in the dairy fridges and a cheaper than the brand name when comparing an equivalent size. We usually always buy this product alternating between the smaller one for general use and this larger one for special occasions like Xmas when we need more. I love that it is made in Australia from at least 99% Australian ingredients. It can be used for cooking, pouring and whipping so very flexible. I used it for lunch today in a pasta sauce and it didn't curdle and created a nice creamy tomato sauce with onion, chorizo and spinach. Taste was good as I expected even though less obvious when used this way. In desserts I never add sugar, I just whip it up and use it as is and it always tastes good. The bottle and cap are both recyclable which is also good. The only negative for me is the addition of gelatine. I much prefer real cream without any other additives/additions but for the price this is the next best thing. Supposedly it helps stabilise the cream when whipped so it sets its shape more easily, especially in hot weather, so a small price to pay for the added benefit. But if you are vegan/vegetarian you may not be quite as impressed since the gelatin is sourced from beef. Overall I was happy with this for taste, ease of use, price and convenience so will be happy to purchase again and recommend to others.

Perfect size for my needs. Once upon a time I used to be a named brand snob and would only buy Bulla cream. Then one day money became a little tighter to come by, so alternatives had to be found to ensure a budget could be met. A few years ago now I came across this Woolworths branded light thickened cream in a 600ml container. The perfect size for my afternoon of making scones. The Woolies branded cream is just as good as the Bulla brand, but cheaper. I have not gone back since finding this cream. Because I've been buying this cream from Woolies for a few years now I was surprised they offered this as a sample, as well as the 300ml version of the same cream The cream is 99% Aussie made, which has me stumped. Great option for a low-fat pouring cream. I love enjoying cream with my desserts, so I was looking forward to trying this light thickened cream to see how it compares to the usual full-fat varieties that I purchase. I was pleasantly surprised, as the flavour was still delicious and the cream didn't taste much different; it was just slightly runnier than the full-fat versions. The only downside to this product is that it's not able to be whipped given its low fat content, but as a pouring cream on desserts, it's a great option. And at only $4. 20 for a 600ml bottle, it's great value compared to other brands. I would purchase this cream again for my family and would recommend it to anyone looking for a low-fat variety of cream that isn't required for whipping.

Great light cream to help us stay light . I prefer light cream if it doesn’t need to be whipped. It’s a great balance between flavour and better health. This light cream contains 48% less fat ✅ than the full cream equivalent. The packaging clearly states “perfect for cooking and pouring…not whipping” which is helpful to avoid confusion. It is made in Australia and at $4. 20 is more economical than the 300ml product if you need lots. The container is easy to open and the lid is replaceable so you can use it for a number of dishes. I use cream for specific recipes and therefore usually only buy the smaller product. I do buy this cream and highly recommend it. I made a large batch of baked rice pudding to use the entire container. I adapt the recipe depending on what I ... MoreGreat light cream to help us stay light . I have a large 5 litre Corningware dish which is perfect for the job.
Versatile and great value. I regularly buy this cream. A big value size for those who use a lot. Easy to pour and store. Great for cooking, baking and making desserts. Versatile and ideal in a variety dishes. I usually add in pasta, curry, quiche, creamy sauce etc. Sweets like cheese cake, mousse, and whipped cream to name a few. Used in place of milk to make the dish rich, creamy and extra tasty. This time I used up a bottle of cream to following sweets and savoury dish — Cream filling for Swiss roll cake. It was delicious and whipped well. Low carb burnt basque cheesecake which replaced regular sugar with natural sweetener and made in air fryer was smooth and creamy. Light Thickened Cream. Wishing I could use light cream in all my cooking over the recipes that require full fat cream. I have tried using light cream in place of the full fat cream, & some recipes aren't as good. Perfect for cooking & pouring.... Not whipping. Perfect on desserts, & also to use to make your meals creamy/thickened. I always buy this brand. The price is always cheaper, & still good quality. As a rule, I normally buy the cream in smaller tubs. I find this size is too big for 2 people. I need to find more recipes to use it up. We really dont eat alot of cream with having high cholesterol. I would recommend to others. Some families might prefer the bigger tubs of cream with more mouths to feed. Was easy to find, & the packaging stands out well. Made in ... MoreLight Thickened Cream. Good thick cream - and light too! Just when we were thinking of getting some cream to whip for a family desert recently, along comes Bunch and this wonderful product to taste test. Now, I must admit, I probably would not have got the 600ml bottle, normally opting for the handy 300ml size, but this was the sample and here we are. Guess what? We used most of it in our whipped cream for desert and plenty left over for another treat - curried sausages. Adding the remainder to my normally thin ish curry in the pan was a great idea as the cream, being light, did not curdle but added immense flavour to a generic curry. Add a dash of Cumin and “Wallah!” a beautiful new flavoursome dish is born, due mainly to the light thickened cream. Oh yeah, the whipped cream was a winner ... MoreGood thick cream - and light too! Great Quality Choice (2). This is my go to when I am buying this type of cream, although I normally buy the 300ml bottle as there are only two of us. The bottle was easy to find in the dairy section with the other creams. At $4. 50 for the 600ml bottle it is great value - $1. 50 cheaper than the "branded" version. I used the cream for a tasty potato bake as this is a big size, so needed a recipe that used the whole amount. The cream cooked well and didn't separate. The result was a beautiful, creamy sauce, and soft, tender potatoes. The texture was spot on and very delicious. I don't feel that I missed out on anything in terms of flavour or final result with the lower fat content. 48% less fat than the full fat thickened cream. Great, cheaper priced cream. A wonderful alternative to full fat cream, containing 48% less fat. This, light thickened cream is made from Australian milk with no artificial colour, flavours or preservatives. I made a potato bake with the light cream, tasted the same as it does using full fat cream, without making my tummy feel sick and bloated. A definite win there. Also at $4. 20 for 600ml, it's almost a dollar cheaper than the next cheapest brand of light cream for that size. A great product that I will continue to purchase when cream is needed for baking. Personally, we didn't enjoy it when pored over fruit or desserts as it tastes a little water. Preferring a full fat cream for those. Container and lid can both go in the recycling ♻️
Amazing! Always on hand. I LOVE using this Woolworths thickened cream. I have been using this for years and we always have it stocked in the fridge, because it is such a versatile ingredient to have and tastes like any of the other branded creams you can buy on the shelves. No one can tell any difference in brand when I use it. The consistency is as expected for thickened cream (slightly runny and not thick like yoghurt). The pour is very smooth and not clumpy at all. No need to stir or shake it in any way and can be poured straight out from the container. The flavour is creamy and delicious as cream should be. The cream whips very well and perfect for scones. The cream goes well with pretty much anything that doesn't require a really thick creamy consistency (for example, I prefer a thicker cream for potato bake) and you can use it to make a nice mushroom sauce, curry, scrambled eggs, dessert etc that don't require that 'double thickened cream' texture. Well, the list is endless with cooking with cream right? From a savoury creamy chicken dish to sweet panna cotta or scones, it is definitely a versatile product to have stocked in your fridge. There have been many times I've thought "oh I need cream!" and am relieved I still have some leftover cream in the fridge. As I use cream for all sorts of meals and desserts, I tend to purchase the 600ml. It comes in 2 sizes:- 300ml for $2. 60 (87c per 100ml)- 600ml for $4. 20 (70c per 100ml)Here's some photos below of how I have used the cream and thanks for reading. #inspiration
