Thyme on my side. I was growing thyme in the garden and then it dried out so I had to buy this bottle recently to use in a recipe. The thyme is packed in Australia from imported ingredients. It is the same packaging as the other Woolworths spices, with a big T for the Thyme on the bottle. It’s a clear glass bottle with a simple plastic green lid. The bottles are sticker sealed and you unscrew the green lid and peel back the sticker. Sometimes the green lid is difficult to unscrew, and I couldn’t unscrew the Cayenne pepper bottle lid, and had to poke holes in it to use. Why Pay More? Thyme is actually one of the few herbs that seem to survive in our small above-ground garden bed and I often dry my own thyme…. So I was very interested to see how this product would ‘stack up’ against our home grown product. With the clear and eye-catching labelling that Woolworths has used, it was easy to find this product on the supermarket shelf. Given the nature of thyme, I chose to remove the lid entirely in order to more easily access the contents inside the jar, but I can see how this lid would be very useful for some of the other herbs and spices in the range. This thyme was delicious sprinkled over our roasted potatoes and cheesy vegetable bake. It tasted just as good and fresh as our home-grown product!Given the steady supply of thyme from our garden, I am unlikely to need to purchase this specific product in the future, however it has opened my eyes to the Woolworths herb and spice range. I have no doubt that I will be purchasing other products from the range in the future!

The white and green colours used on the label are eye catching and I couldn’t miss the large green T. My only issue is with the plastic lid which is divided in half for sprinkling or pouring. I found the holes in the sprinkling side too small to be of much use, so perhaps fewer and larger holes would be a better option. I found it added a delicious flavour to the Chicken & Chorizo Bake I made for dinner and from the empty plates, it was a hit with the family as well. I’ll definitely be buying these Thyme Leaves again. Economically priced at only $1. 65 for the 12 grams, it’s half the price of the leading brands without compromising any of the quality, freshness or flavour.

Thyme is Good, Lid is Bad. The Woolworths Thyme dried herb is great, there is no difference to any other brand out there so quality wise you are getting great dried thyme for a good price. There is nothing negative to say about the contents itself. The bottle packaging is eye-catching and it is always easy to find which herb you are after due to the clear writing and the big capitalised first letter of the herb. The only draw back to the item is the lid. The lid is useless for sprinkling. The small holes need to be made a bit wider to be useful for sprinkling if you are not requiring a good big dosage of the herb. I am not a huge thyme lover but I would buy this again if I ever needed to over the more pricier brands as there is no difference at all.

Great when you don't have fresh. The labelling is very eye catching and each herb is easy to locate with its large capital letter. The aroma was very “fresh” when I opened the bottle. The best before date is March 2023. Pleased that the lid had a pouring side, as the holes where too small to sprinkle the thyme leaves. I added to the gravy I made (well, from a tin) to have with a woolies hot roast chicken and veggies. Mmmm, delicious. Will definitely make again. I’m going to add some to my next batch of bolognese sauce along with the usual dried basil and oregano. I usually buy the bags of Hoyts herbs and refill my own bottles as it’s cheaper. Would I buy? depends how often I use this one. Plus I will check which has the longer best before date.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this dried herb. There was a beautiful thyme aroma as soon as I opened the bottle so I knew it would be full of flavour and not lacking. When trialing this product I put some sliced mushrooms into pie holes, sprinkled the thyme on top of the mushrooms, and cracked an egg on top and cooked. It was a beautiful breakfast and the thyme flavour really brought it together. The thyme is full of flavour with a beautiful aroma and good size leaves with a nice green colour. Could not fault the product nor tell the difference from competitor products. Easy to locate in store. Catchy labeling on this range with capital letters of relevant herb on bottle. I was also impressed at the range of Woolworth spices available. Price is impressive!! I am pleased the bottle is reusable however I did not see a Woolworths pouch of Thyme leaves which I could purchase to refill my reusable bottle. Some may say due to the price just buy another Woolworths product in its entirety, but looking at competitors pouches they (on special at the moment) are cheaper again and could be brought to refill the Woolworths bottle. Your food will be flavoursome, tasty and delicious. This Woolworths Dry Thyme herb sample, we love and regularly buy. I like to use it to season meat and fish, rice, pasta, potato, pasta sauce, tomato, soups and stews. And it works well with other herbs too. I season my roast lamb with thyme, rosemary, garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. I season my roast potato with thyme, Massel vegetable stock powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. You’ll be pleasantly surprised on how this product makes your food taste more flavoursome, tastier and delicious. The Thyme has a lovely and gentle flavour, with an earthy and lemony taste that goes perfectly with just about anything. So why pay more? I buy this product, because it's just as good as the more expensive brand.

Great flavour at bargain price. First time I had tried ‘Woolworths Thyme Leaves’ and what a treat. I used this on my home made pizza and it pretty much enhanced the flavour of the pizza. When I went to place the pizza in the oven the beautiful aroma hit and then biting into the pizza you definitely taste the herb which it enhanced the taste. I love the packaging as the big letter ‘T’ in the green colour makes it easy to be identified and the price is a bargain. The other major brand currently at Woolworths sells for $2. 60 for only 10grams but the Woolworths brand is currently selling for $1. 65 and the size you get is slightly larger in 12 grams (as @2/8/19)My only disappointment is it comes from imported ingredients yet packed in ‘Australia’.

Convenient. nice colour & label design, looks clean & healthy. i usually buy fresh thyme & dry them out in the fridge in a container with paper towel. compared to the "homemade" dried thyme, i find this one quite mild and have to sprinkle a lot more to get the same level of flavour. one side of the lid has 4 holes and i think it is supposed to be used as a sprinkle. (1) the herbs can hardly get through those holes, (2) since the herbs aren't very strong and a larger quantity is required to get my desired flavour, i use the other side to do one big sprinkle instead. it is very good value though and can last a lot longer than fresh herbs. i can imagine people having a huge range of bottled dried herbs & spices collection in the kitchen - i'd love to have one too ;)
