Yummy, healthy, nice! I usually buy Australian, but these were still very nice, and California can be proud of them. Full of omega 3s and tasty goodness, I was very happy and grateful to sample these, and would buy them again. Vegan tip: try soaking the walnuts in a bowl of water for twenty minutes, then pulse them a few times (for no more than a few seconds a few times, really) in a food processor or chopper with some sundried tomatoes (from a jar) and a dash of soy sauce, to make a mixture resembling mince. You can use this (no heating required) in tortillas and tacos, or stir it through some hot cooked pasta (spaghetti works well) like you'd use pesto. It's seriously good.

Lovely for lots of reasons. Great fresh and flavoursome nuts. Great price. I use walnuts for a snack as very good for you, and for putting on a fruit platter and as an addition to a happy hour nibbles plate as well as in slices and cakes. I always have walnuts in my pantry. BUT. I usually buy the 500g Australian pack. I think even though the Aussie nuts are$11 and the Californian 450g $9 I prefer to support our Australian growers. I do think the Aussie walnuts are just that little bit fresher. Anyway loved them thanks Woolies but will buy the Aussie ones. And yes Robyn-1 we grow LOTs of walnuts as well as almonds in this country. More than ever with Covid I'm trying to support our Aussie farmers.

Great for snacking on, salads & baking. I needed walnuts to make my apple & walnut muffins. Off to my local Woolworths and picked up these walnuts. Found these walnuts in the baking aisle, packaging for the walnuts match their other nut varieties. I like the clear window, so that you can see the nuts inside. Ingredients are just 100% natural Californian walnuts. ✅They are fresh tasting and crunchy. Great amount of whole walnuts and some smaller pieces. These natural Californian walnuts are a good source of omega 3. Great to add to salads, cakes or just eating a handful when you are feeling a little peckish. 5 Health star rating. Product of the USA packed in Australia No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. $9. 00 for 450g. Servings per pack: 15. Serving ... MoreGreat for snacking on, salads & baking. LOVED THESE WALNUTS. I was very keen to try this sample, however, took me a while to find them in the cooking aisle and I got the last pack on the shelf. The packaging is plain but I did like that the pack was transparent so that you could see the quality of the nuts in the pack and also helped to see how many were left after pack was opened. I thought the walnuts themselves were good sized pieces and they were not broken into little"bits" which can often happen after packing or shipping so they maintained their size well. I LOVED the taste of this product. I found that once I opened the pack I could not stop eating them, in fact, I had to restrain myself and put the pack away until later. I actually got my husband to try this healthy snack alternative and he even liked them as well. I also sprinkled them into yoghurt for an even healthier dessert option and they were great together. I thought they were great value for money at $3. 90 and easily matched more expensive brands in taste and quality, in fact, I would love to see them sold in a bigger pack because I could have eaten the whole 190 gram pack in one sitting. These will always now be on my shopping list either as a snack or just a healthier alternative.
Oh my, what lovely nuts Woolies have! Mm mmmmmm These nuts are the most protected nuts I've ever had the pleasure of munching on... When I eventually broke into the bag that is A nice thick bag that's bullet proof, I swear! (Actually no, better not swear ), Honestly though, keep a pair of ✂️ handy because while you're struggling to open the packet like you would do with any other, if you're quiet enough you'll hear the walnuts singing... I want to break free, I want break free..... So just best use the scissors at the very beginning success!I couldn't resist one after finally breaking in and mmmm lovely crunch with somewhat of a nutty flavour? Oh yes, walnuts! A lovely walnut-ty flavour The bag was full of intact nuts (bit like our household really ) and didn't find any shell fragments as noted under caution on the back of packaging. These walnuts are so versatile they could be used for many things from adding crunch and flavour to a salad to cooking scrumptious cakes .... I tried to bribe my Mum into making me a date and walnut loaf. Bribe unsuccessful so I had to make it MYSELF! I know, the absolute hide of Mum! Food always tastes better when someone else makes it I've kept a walnut aside because I also want to test out the method of using a walnut to repair scratches in wooden furniture. I've never tried it but heard a few success stories, so again these nuts are versatile little things! The Allergen Advice is very clearly stated on the back of packaging so consumers are more than aware they contain nuts! (I wonder if I should have a sign made for myself.... People's could be allergic to ME their eyes seem to weep a lot after been around me nah just joking )In our Woolies store, there's 2 sections of where nuts can be found. One in the general meat, deli and fresh fruit and vegetables section and one in the cooking/baking isle, well the isle that holds most of your general cooking/baking supplies like flours and sugars, where I found this packet. I'd definitely buy these again, a reasonable price for the quality product you get. Big from me!A product of the USA which is clearly labelled!
Location location. Ok, truth be known, trying to find this item took longer than me eating the entire pack!I looked for it where the usual nuts and soya chips are: standalone near the fridges. Then in the beer nuts and soda section. Then tried the healthfood area. Finally found them in next to the baking items, next to the DESICCATED COCONUT!!! OMG. Too hard basket for me. I really was going to give up locating them, thought that this was a repeat case of the rice crackers Woolworths Bunch tried to get me to test - I went to three separate stores in a 2hour radius, only to find out they were discontinued... The walnuts themselves are nice. Would be great in protein balls, or in a nut slice, or a walnut and pecan pie. 3* only due to location of the product being far ... MoreLocation location. (Yes, I guess the "walnut tart" description written on the packaging was a give away but seriously, no).
Nutritious Nuts. Well, what a fabulous sample, thanks Woolies. Walnuts are always handy to have in the pantry as they have multitudes of uses. From snacking on, to using in your baking or to adding some to your smoothies, they are a very versatile nut. I generally have them to use in my baking, in particular my carrot cake, but lately I’ve been adding them to my smoothies to get added protein and Omega 3’s. They are also rich in antioxidants and have many health benefits. Not only a great tasting nut but one that is good for you. I didn’t give these five stars because I will continue to buy the Australian walnuts.
Addictive snack. The Woolworths natural Californian walnuts are delicious and addictive as a snack. They come in a recyclable bag. Are easy to find in the dried fruit and nuts aisle. They can be used for so many various cooking dishes, cakes, biscuits candied walnuts, in a trail mix or for snacking. Great source of omega3 and come with a 5 star health rating. Produced in Usa Packed in Australia. Great size and value. I ❤ nuts of course I would purchase again.
Nuts over NUTS! I always have a bag or two of nuts in the pantry and a spare in case I run out. I use nuts for snacking and in cooking, and on my cereals. I usually buy the walnuts from the fruit veg section which are 500g for $11. 00. But these sample nuts are from the cooking aisle which work out to $20/kg. When buying nuts I always search in both sections, compare the prices and buy the cheaper ones. In this packet there were lots of walnut halves with a few pieces. They looked lighter in colour than the ones I usually buy from the fruit veg section. Not sure why. But I did enjoy this sample and nuts never go to waste in our house. I would buy these from the cooking section if the price is good. A very tasty snack.
Great nuts! These nuts were great. I made a banana and walnut loaf, using the entire pack. The cake was a hit!I did try a few before cooking in order to comment here. The nuts were very similar tasting to other brands I have tried in the supermarket. The packet was a good size to use for cooking purposes as there would be none left over. The price point was pleasing and the availability on the shelf was good as well. In terms of taste, the best walnuts I have tried were fresh at the farmer’s markets, punching in at a pretty penny price point. Admittedly, these did not taste as fresh as those walnuts, but they are a good choice for the price and convenience factor. Will re-purchase!
