Not as good as I remember. The packaging is great, I love the dark blue label and the wrap around the cake now comes apart without the need for scissors - That is an improvement. The cake itself is fine ( I had one day left on the use by date) but a little dry. Damp from the thawing process but dry in the middle. It is a plain cake and the lemon flavour is from the lemon curd in the middle and on top of the cake. It is super lemony and I guess has citric acid in it to help with the zingThe buttercream is sweet and delicious and goes perfectly well with the tartness of the lemon curd. Eaten altogether it is yummy but I only buy it on a markdown. Tip 1 If you cut it wedding cake style rectangles rather than normal triangle shaped slices you will get a lot more serves ... MoreNot as good as I remember. Nice lemon zing. This was purchased on markdown. $7. 80 for $1. 56. 1. 5 star rating. No artificial colours or flavours. Made in Australia from at least 79% Australian ingredients. Servings per pack: 8. Serving size: 50g. Frozen from fresh and thawed. Ingredients:This cake comes in a firm plastic case that is easy to open and reseal. It is a nice size and has a plastic ring around it which is easy to remove. Cut in half:It is a moist cake that is not overly heavy in texture, and it has a nice sweetness to it without it being too sweet. There is a good amount of lemon curd between the halves and the tang is mild. The icing is firm with a slight sweetness to it, and the lemon swirl has a good amount of tang to it. There was a light lemon aftertaste. This will be a purchase on special.

Absolutely delicious. I really enjoy anything with lemon in it or on it and this little delight did not disappoint. It was so tasty. The cake itself was moist, then the layer of lemon curd in between was just the right amount for the cake size. The white chocolate pearls and passionfruit crisps on top are a great addition and it makes the cake look a bit fancy with them on a small section of the cake, but...... they should be all over the cake so that everyone gets to taste them. The lemon curd swirl on top also compliments the buttercream. Well done Woolies. I have bought this cake in the past and will purchase again in the future. I also recommend it to others. Thanks to Bunch for such a delicious sample

You're simply the zest. Perfect balance of sweet and tart in this cake. The cake was soft and moist and really complimented the zingy lemon filling and icing. Whilst it wouldnt probably be a good serving size for a large family for us it was perfect. Definitely would purchase again if I didnt have time to bake. Goes well with a nice big dollop of cream.

Very zesty and delicious. I loved the container this came in as it is easy to store after cutting a slice. The cake stands on a little silver plate so it's easy to remove and serve on a cake stand. It cut easily and there is a thick middle layer of cream which was delicious. The cake was so light and moist and lemony flavoured - it was absolutely delicious. I didn't particularly like the little balls on the top, though - not sure if they were chocolate or not - but unnecessary as the cake can stand alone! Really, really tasty - a winner.

BEST CAKE EVER!!!! I couldn’t believe my luck when this sample came up. Absolutely, positively my favourite cake of all time. Love, love, love it. Love the flavour, love the icing, love the cake. And the best part - no one else in my family likes it. They don’t know what they’re missing. Do I feel bad eating the whole thing? Maybe. But then I just convince myself it’s an extra large cupcake . Bets Bunch sample EVER!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH.

Tasty little treat. I'd bought this cake once before as a birthday treat for my Mum because it is beautifully decorated and presented for a special occasion. We all really loved it. I made a mental note to get another as soon as I had reason to purchase a special treat, so I was very excited snap up this limited release sample!Once again it was delicious. This time we shared with our grandaughter, and then had some left for the following day, when it was just as fresh and tasty. The cake is moist with just the right amount of lemony tang in the lemon curd and icing. I will be waiting for another special occasion to buy this again... such as a birthday, or visitors, or oh, I don't know... maybe a day ending in 'Y', or getting out of bed or something!

Love this cake! This cake ticks all my boxes! Lovely and moist cake with a lemon curd between the layers and a nice frosting. Great for smoko or morning tea or just to have on its own. @7. 80 each, it’s not cheap, but then again it’s worth it. We get two slices each, the package says serves eight, but I’m not sure on which world that would happen! I bought one in June for 2IC’s birthday and we loved it then. So glad to receive one as a sample. Easily found in the bakery section. Frozen and thawed. That isn’t a problem with us. If (never gunna happen) there was some left over after the second day. We would simply refreeze it. We have done it the past with other frozen then thawed products from the bakery with no ill effects. A definite repurchase for us.

Scrumptious! I unfortunately didn't receive this as a Bunch product. However I tried this cake at a work morning tea recently. It was absolutely delicious and scrumptious! I loved the flavour and the consistency of the cake. I couldn't fault it. I was considering buying it last week, but was put off by the price. It's very expensive for such a small cake, so I sadly won't be buying it unless I happen to see one markedly reduced. It's probably better for my waist line and arteries that I didn't buy it, but I was very disappointed none the less!

So good! Woolworths have managed to get every aspect of this cake right. There is not one part of it that is lacking or needs improvement. Starting with the butter cream, there is just the right amount of it to not make it sickly. A lot of cakes go overboard with the icing and I end up throwing that part out because it is just too over the top, but that is not the case on this cake. It is well made and evens out the lemon curd in the middle of the cake. The curd does have a strong lemon flavour, but it is well balanced with the icing and the actual cake. It is nice and smooth and just the right amount is used in the cake. The cake part is very well made, not at all dry and has a nice flavour to it. To top it all off the cake is nicely decorated with a simple swirl ... MoreSo good! Woolworths have managed to get every aspect of this cake right. At first glance the cake appears to be quite small, but you really don't need a huge piece so you can easily get eight slices out of it. The cake comes in a sturdy container that is easy to open and close. After trying this cake I would buy it again for a morning or afternoon tea and at $7. 50 it fairly priced.
