Awful, fades quickly, heavy, thick, scratchy.

When you choose "black" for the color it changes they type of jeans. They are NOT the same as the blue ones. They look nothing like the blue ones. The black ones are very poor quality, thick, scratchy, not soft - 1980's old school horrible, fade to grey after the first wash - and get those horrible crease light colored lines in them in the wash.Seriously, awful. Only positive, fit true to size. I would not ever buy these again. They have been washed a hand full of times and look like they are vintage in color - but feel like heavy scratchy canvas.Wish I would return them, bought 2 pairs.

Disappointing and not what I expected

I find Wrangler's descriptions to be rather poor. These are not the pants I thought they would be. There is barely any flex in the waistband, so I'm disappointed because I thought I was getting flexible pants. Also, the jeans have too much polyester in them for me--I really hate poly and only buy full cotton. (This is my mistake in this case). I was excited because these pants came in a 28 inseam...normally I buy 29, but they can be too long for me (I am short-legged and low-waisted).I have bought other Wrangler jeans that actually flex, and these are obviously not the same ones--but who can tell, when there are 100 different kinds of jeans on the website. Good but with some annoyances

This seems to be Wrangler's replacement for their excellent 96CFW jeans. Here are the changes I'm seeing:* Belt loops are significantly smaller. Some belts won't fit now, even normal ones.* Coin pocket is lower, wider, and shallower. Half the time I try to put my phone in my main pocket, it goes into the coin pocket instead.* Slightly higher rise, for better or worse; personal preference on this one.Obviously I'd be happier if Wrangler would reintroduce the 96CFW in all the colors they used to such as SW (currently only offered in black).

In conjunction with "Cons" below... two years ago I ordered a couple pair of Five Star Regular Fit Jeans (38x36) and they were too long. I ordered them that way because I've worn Lands End and LL Bean jeans (38x36) for over 20 years and they were a perfect length. I turned to Wrangler... my childhood staple... when both of them stopped offering a 36" length. Fast forward to today... The Five Stars had a high rise and since I wear my jeans at the hip, this time I ordered the Authentics Regular Fit Jeans (38x36) because they have a mid rise. It didn't matter though... they were also too long. This time I exchanged them for a 34" length and the length is now perfect. Obviously, Wrangler has a slightly different cut... which doesn't matter, they both fit me about the same... the Wranglers are just a little longer in the crotch. Ended up fine but took me a while to figure it out!

Is there a dye supply shortage?

I once heard someone say if you want to enjoy something, you should learn everything you can about it. I love the 5 star premium denim because they are amazingly comfortable and look great. I read about the history of Wrangler on Wikipedia, and it said the jeans were originally made for rodeo cowboys. They wanted the best jeans for bull riding or horseback riding. I've heard the double stitching was put on the outside of the leg, because having it on the inside below the crotch would rub your legs while riding a bull or horse. They also positioned the back pockets for comfortable sitting on a saddle. It's interesting history.I've worn different brands in my life, but I consider Wrangler 5 star premium denim to be my favorites. One thing that is unique about them is the double stitching on the outside of the leg, which I like. I pay attention to small details like that. Most jeans have double stitching on the inside of the leg below the crotch. I like the uniqueness of double stitching on the outside of the legs. It looks good when I stand in front of a mirror. One thing that concerns me is that over the past year or more, alot of people are complaining about the jeans tearing after a few weeks. I hope the quality doesn't decline. These are the most comfortable jeans, and I hope to keep buying and wearing them for decades. So I hope they solve whatever problem they have. I've also noticed that people are complaining about how Walmart is sending the wrong color. I've had the same problem. I recently ordered light stonewash, and they sent me dark stonewash. I decided to keep them because I planned on buying dark stonewash later. So I placed a second order thinking this was just a one time mistake. And they sent me the wrong color again. They won't send light stonewash. My assumption is there may be a supply shortage because of the pandemic.

Mine are 855WAQD in dark flex which is sort of a traditional jeans color -- not dark, but not wahed out. Love the Flex Waist waistband. The rest of the material is just stretchy enough for comfort. The combination allows my weight and physical condition to fluctuate a bit without "stocking" jeans in different waist sizes. With a standard waist band, I would have to have at least two sizes on hand. The material could be somewhat tougher. I wear these for working outdoors once they wear some. I have torn the material at the top of my leg near the crotch area on three pairs when crouching and reaching. A few of the belt loops have torn free at one end of the loop where they are joined to the jeans. Hard to fix so this is a premature death for the jeans. Confession: I ... MoreMine are 855WAQD in dark flex which is sort of a traditional jeans color -- not dark, but not wahed out. Love the Flex Waist waistband. Confession: I sometimes hang the jeans on clothes hooks by two belt loops. The knees are pretty durable. So far I've retired these for one of the issues above rather than knees wearing through. I buy the very similar black jeans (96CFVCB) as well, but it looks like they have disappeared from the site. I bought some under a different number in a local store last week. I wish I could get both of these in 34x28 as a 29 inseam is just a bit long for me. To clarify the boxes I checked above: The fit is a little loose for me, but acceptable. When I was younger, I would have called this a relaxed fit. I don't care for "skinny jeans" though. I'm old school that way. The quality is short of excellent only because of the durability issues I mentioned, though this may not be entirely fair on my part. I think they are an excellent value as I can't find the same features in less expensive jeans. I won't test the rules here by mentioning a brand, but I wear an excellent stretchy belt with these. They work well together.

OMG - NEW JEAN BUT BELT LOOP %26 POCKET RIPPED
18 August 2023

OMG - My husband has always bought Wranglers for work for years - probably not anymore. His newer jeans ripped around the pocket (he does carry a wallet - but isn't that normal and expected???) along with one of the belt loops. Even the other back pocket that is not used is also starting to rip - really not sure on that one. Gone are the days and quality of these jeans where the knees wore out first. In fact, it is ridiculous how new these jeans otherwise look. Since I don't like hearing all of the complaints, he won't be getting these again!

Should have read more of the negative reviews
28 January 2023

I have been buying Wranglers, in 34 x 32, from an outlet store near home for as long as I can remember. They have always worn, and laundered, very satisfactorily. My decision to try an online purchase was based on availability of the shower, 31" inseam, which is closer to my own. Could not even BUTTON the waist on any of the three pairs I ordered. Have since gone back to the outlet store, purchased others, in the SAME size, guess what? They FIT, just like always. Go figure. Between that, and getting socked an extra $6.95 to send them back, I won't be ordering anything else from your website.

Quality is there. I like the stitching and the fabric. They got my waist right, too. My issue is from the thigh down. Sooo baggy. I didn't even order boot cut. Just regular and it felt like bell bottoms. My oldest daughter is gonna turn these jeans into jorts but I'm concerned they'll still look baggy. If youza big boi, buy them. Good stuff. I bought Levi after and they're more fitting but the quality and stitching ain't there. Good quality, poor variety.
