Right now Selvedge denim is all the rage. These are just like the jeans I had as a kid. I don't know what type of loom Wrangler uses but these jeans are in the same league with an affordable price tag. These are the best fitting pair of jeans I own and I expect them to last for a long time. 14.7 oz rigid denim is much softer than you'd imagine and the 100% cotton really breathes in the heat. Top notch jeans.

I was surprised to find out that Levi's has apparently stopped making my size in jeans. That after 40 plus years. So I decided to give Wrangler a try. While the jeans fit good, they don't compare to Levi's. I prefer deeper pockets and a variety of color options. Oh, and having to pay a return fee to Wrangler is absurd. I ordered original and slim cut to see which fit best, and then found out I had to pay $8 to return the original cut. Not good

These are the jeans I have been buying my husband for years. The 936 Cowboy Rigid Jeans Slim cut. I buy one inch larger in the waist, wash them & they fit great. A 36" waist shrinks to a 35", & so on, length shrinks about an inch or so as well. They are tough jeans out of heavy denim & wear very well. Some of the really old jeans are used for outside or heavy work. I know when I buy these jeans, they will last a long time.

I appreciate that Wrangler has my size (30 waist x 36 leg) in most of their styles. They're good, classic jeans, but:1. Need a bit more upper leg width. I'm athletic, but not a bodybuilder. The thigh sections are VERY tight.2. The zip is a bit short. Not as bad as AE jeans that have to have been designed by a woman 😉 The short fly makes using a urinal a bit of a challenge. Sorry if it's TMI, but I have to dig to get my .... out.3. The denim parts of the pockets are not big enough and all too often, I see the white pocket fabric sticking out.4. Back pocket decorative stitching pulls out and is easily damaged.
Consistent quality year after year. These are the only jeans the hubs will wear. They are durable, comfortable and well made. He has worn Wrangler 13MWZ since the 80’s and has never had a zipper go out or a button come off. They stand up to heavy duty work and still look good enough to go out to dinner. He literally has jeans that are 10 years or older still in fair shape.
I wear the jeans on a daily basis for decades. There is a quality issue with the legs being twisted. This is due to the seams sewn in a matter that permanently twists the legs. You will fight this twist as long as the life of the jeans. It's a crap shoot if you get a good pair or a defective pair when you buy online. Buy the jeans in a store where you can examine the legs before you purchase them. These are good jeans if the seams aren't defective.
All jeans we bought 60 years ago were rigid like these. It took several washings and wearing before they broken in, but then they conformed to your shape, and felt great. The same is true of the 936DEN. I primarily buy them however because i wear a 30X34 slim fit with boots, but a 30X33 when I wear jeans with shoes. I do prefer the Premium Performance 1036's for other wear, but also the 936 in various colors. Incidentally, in response to one comment someone made, I've never had any problem getting any Wrangler cowboy cut jeans over my boots! I can't imagine what kind of boots he has that would be so clunky through the shaft that he can't fit this cut of jeans over them!
My hubby has worn slim fit Wranglers for years. He gained some weight due to injuries so had to go up in sizes then lost the weight after he healed. Went with the same old, same old slim fit Wranglers. BUT they aren't even close!!!1. Description states that the rise is 11": false, they measure 13" from in FRONT of the crotch seam up to the waistband. He wears them on his hips so there's at least 2" hanging down in the crotch. I measured his older slim fits and they measure 12" so the measurements are going off of old outdated data.2. SLIM should mean slimmer in the hips and thighs. Again NO!! Looks like two people could fit into his jeans with him and we went with his hip measurements to get the 'right' size.Just sad because Wrangler used to be the best made, most ... MoreMy hubby has worn slim fit Wranglers for years. They're well-made and sturdy jeans. The problem is that the "slim fit" jeans are made for elephants. The legs can hold bushel baskets and it turns out my legs are 'normal' size which means 'human' size. Can't believe they call these "slim fit"! Are people getting grossly overweight with huge fat legs? Must be. My 'normal' size is 34x32 and with these 'slim fit' jeans I can stick both of my legs through one "slim fit" Wrangler 936 pant leg. Jeez!
All I wear is Wrangler denim, have been my whole life. Started with just what they used to call "Slim Fit boot cuts' . They fit like a glove when I was younger. Now they have options. I have been wearing the 36MWZ (slim fit) for 7 years now and have discovered they are little bit more baggy. Maybe it's because the standard has changed and people are a little more "well fed" these days. Figured I would try the 936 and give them several Hot wash/dry cycles and see if they fit like they did in my youth.
