These are so useful. They’re super sharp, up to Wustof knife standard. And because the two pieces separate I never worry about bacteria hrowing in the crevices.
The plastic handle cracked and broke off after about 1 year. The bottle opener was never used in our case and appears to lessen the attachment of the handle to the blades. I suggest it be removed and the blades be more securely attached to the handles.
Started with these shears many years ago. Bought second shear to use as kitchen shear and used first pair as all around shears. After several years first shear seemed dull. Bought 3rd pair as kitchen shear and now using 2nd set as every day. Really like these shears
Had one in a set that we purchased when we got married 30 years ago and when the hinge pin rusted out, we threw them away not remembering the lifetime guarantee so now completing the set again and have purchased a few more knives to make it even better.
When we moved I lost mine. When visiting my daughter, I found that she had them and took them back, but got one of her own for her!
Great shear. Only thing that bugs me is the knob that holds the two sides together has to face up to fit in the block. The block or the shears should have had it on both sides.
We have the 5558 come apart scissors that apparently were an earlier generation, and these new ones as well. The older ones are a bit longer, and importantly have larger near rectangular finger holes and a gray rubber lining (that is mostly worn away now). This newer version has significantly smaller finger holes without any rubber grip material. I always reach for the old scissors, as my fingers actually fit inside the holes. The new scissors are uncomfortable to use. Wusthof, please bring back the prior model!
I received this product with my new knife set and while I'm over the moon over my knives, these sheers do not match the usual Wüsthof quality standards. I only handwash my Wüsthof cutlery and most other kitchen items Immediately after using and these rusted! I washed and dried by hand and I'm sadly disappointed.
