Why have you changed the fit of the xa PRO 3D. This shoe along with the gtx is the only shoe i have worn for the last 12 years!! i been thru at least 15 pairs. The biggest issue with the new is the lowered valve of the inner sole. The support for the inside of the fot is all gone. now the shoe gives you an very unatural angle of the knee inwards. This change you made destroyed my one and only shoe. The pair i bought are new in the shelf and i still go on with old ones even if they starting to fall apart. I Will never use the new fit.

I recently bought 2 pairs and so far these are good looking, well wearing shoes. The soles are not as comfortable as the first version of the XA PRO 3D that I owned about 4-years ago which also too zero break-in. Still, with more use, the more I like them. I've considered buying replacement inserts to see if I can make the comfort similar to the originals.

I purchased these shoes less than a year ago looking for something nice to walk in with expectations of a nice mid-tier usage piece in my wardrobe. Already I have experienced destruction with the shoe to a point of absolute unuse as a hole has formed within the heel cup exposing the hard plastic causing extreme discomfort with every step. Some of the stitching within the interior of the tongue has also whittled away. Very unfortunate.

The price was a bit more than I wanted but found they were very comfortable. I hummed and hawed and eventually made the purchase. They have been nothing short of excellent. These have been my daily pair for almost 3 years and are only now showing signs of needing to be replaced. The tread is gone and they smell like what death smells like when it dies, but in all honestly have been one of the best pair of shoes I have ever invested in. Form day one till now, they are still extremely comfortable. What I found most pleasing is how the heal has held up. I tend to “slip my shoes on” without ever untying or loosening them. The numerous pairs of Shox I had previously would break down and become uncomfortable with the heal of the shoe digging into my heal due to the shoe ... Fairly comfortable, a light rigid at the side of the front of the foot, could use a little but more cushioning overall. Laces are great.The main issue is mud completely sticks to the bottom, so terrible for hiking in mud & rain.Wish the sole was different.
I have owned XA pro 3D midcut, XA Pro 3D Black, XA Forces Tan and Green and couple of speedcross. I am Size 10US and all of my Salomons fits to a T in terms of comfort and style. I recently bought the new XA Pro 3D in my usual Size 10 and it fits off right from the box. The width size is so tight/narrow i can barely squeeze my feet on the shoes. Is something happened with the shoe design making it a little narrow to conform with the unisex tag and style? Sent the shoes back for a refund and having second thought of buying an XA Pro again.
I purchased my 2nd pair of XA Pro 3D several months ago. My 1st pair fit flawlessly. This new pair is the same size but narrow in the tow area. I wish I had returned them but was hoping they would stretch but they did not. I’m actually contemplating throwing them out because I always end up using my old/worn pair instead. I buy only Salomon brand shoes for years, and this is the first time I’m disappointed.
The aesthetic of these are great. That's unfortunately the only positive thing I have to say about them. These shoes are painful to wear and I've experienced not only blisters if not wearing thick enough socks, but extensor tendonitis for the first time ever. The sole is far too rigid and doesn't allow for natural movement of the foot. Other reviews state comfy and I'm not sure if I got a bad pair but I did try to reconcile it with Salomon first to no avail. I rarely if ever leave negative reviews but in this case hope this one spares someone else the same experience with these. I have the xt-wings 2 adv and those are my everydays and will continue to be. Hunt goes on for a weatherproof pair, these are going to the donation bin-it's that bad.
Thank you Salomon for keeping/bringing these back into the line up; the current V8s are not a worthy replacement. Bring back the mids and gore-tex also. "Revamped with modern materials" and classified as a "sportstyle" shoe but these are very much the same fully capable, best-selling trail runners. Superior construction, fit and durability over the V8s.
I’ve owned these xa pro 3d for a few weeks and have been on four hikes so far. I love the look and color combo of these. I’m normally a women’s size 6.5 and these in size 5 were too short and size 6 were a bit big. I ended up keeping size 6 and added insole under the ortholite to make them fit better. This actually made my feet more comfortable because of more cushion and support. From here I noticed there’s no blue cushion under the ortholite which is a little disappointing, as the blue cushions have made my speedcross 3 very comfortable. I wish blue cushion can be added to future models of xa pro 3d and wish there can be half sizes! i know these white colored shoes are designed more for styles instead of trails, but I can’t resist taking them out for hikes since ...
