The rubber from the sole does not come up high enough on the tip of the toe to protect the upper, and so I drag the suede toe cap and have quickly wrecked the shoe. If Xero addresses this in the next iteration of the 360 it will become one of the best athletic shoes ever created.

Because this morning my calves feel about 3 inches too short and I have no pain in my knees after a 4 mile run. My calves never get sore when I run but my knees sure do! These shoes somehow forced me into a perfect running posture with the weight on mainly the balls of my feet where it's supposed to be! This takes the work out of my arthritic knees and forces it into my muscles, where it's supposed to be. It was THE EASIEST 4 miles I have ever run! I rarely leave reviews but these shoes are everything! I was going to go with Hoka Speedgoats for hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2024 but I am seriously rethinking that. Can't wait to try their trail shoes!!

The shoes are wide, comfortable, and durable. After over a year of weights and road/trail runs, the outer fabric of the upper has torn but these shoes are still completely usable. I would honestly say that these shoes probably won't die for a long time. The only thing is that these shoes aren't great at what they are advertised to do. I think there are three fundamental design flaws in this shoe preventing it from being an ideal all around athletic shoe:- The heel is not fully locked down in the shoe unless you lock-lace it pretty hard since there is no back heel strap or counter- The soles of these shoes are just not very grippy at all. They are for sure durable, but absolutely not grippy- The flexible undersole of the shoe actually contributes to make it quite unstable for fast lateral movements. You can cross train, run, and do easy plyometrics in this shoe, but because of these three factors I would not advise anyone to play a sport that requires hard lateral movement in these shoes like soccer/basketball/tennis or do certain plyometric movements requiring a huge amount of grip like far lateral jumps. I have tried playing soccer, basketball, and broad jumping for plyometrics and each time started slipping. These shoes for me are unironically outperformed by old retro running shoes such as the Saucony Jazz Low Pro (discontinued) and Asics Gel-Lyte II, as well as low to the ground shoes like Vans. The shoe still deserves 3 stars because it's extremely comfortable, but the difference in grip is legitimately bad for performing well in a lot of sports.
Positive: I have tried a number of Xeroshoes, and the 360 is so far my favorite. For me at least, the 360 uppers have more flex and move with your feet more naturally than the Prio, while the offering improved stability in the sole. I have worn 10+ barefoot brands, and keep coming back to Xeros because overall, they just feel better than many others. In particular, they accommodate my "high volume" feet without feeling overly tight, which is really notable, especially since my partner with "low volume" feet finds them just as comfortable and secure. The design concept for these shoes is definately above average.Drawback: The biggest issue, is that, while they are wider than the average "traditional shoe"; Xeros are not super wide by barefoot standards. The design concept for these shoes is definately above average.Drawback: The biggest issue, is that, while they are wider than the average "traditional shoe"; Xeros are not super wide by barefoot standards. Especially after years of barefoot shoes, my feet have naturally widened in the instep of both the midfoot and toes. Even in Xeros widest offerings, sizing up, my larger toes are unable to maintain natural position while moving. Furthermore, my midfoot/instep spills over the edge of the sole. I am not overweight or particularly large ( 6'0, 160lbs).Both these issues significantly impact the ability of the foot to do its job. Compard to wearing just socks, or sandals, my feet are undeniably less strong/stable in the shoes. My friend has expressed similar experiences after she began wearing barefoot shoes in her nursing job 2 years ago; shoes started out feeling roomy, and now wishes she had just a bit more space. If an extra wide option existed, it could make all the difference, the design is good, and the quality for this brand is clearly there. Would easily be a five star review with more width options. On a side note, would be great to see a few more options for nonslip soles on modles like the 360, as on wet surfaces, such as sidewalks, they can be alittle slippery.
Waited nearly a year to write this review. I transitioned to minimalist shoes over 2 years ago after developing a bunion on my left foot from my tennis shoes. I started by wearing them for most casual every-day activities, but I was wary of wearing them to play tennis. I am a USTA ~4.5 level women's player and speed is one of my biggest weapons on the court. Having always worn tennis sneakers with tons of support (I typically opted for ones that felt like tanks on my feet) because I have found myself on the ground unexpectedly a time or two due to my aggressive movement on the court, I was apprehensive about trusting minimalist shoes on the tennis court. Having always worn tennis sneakers with tons of support (I typically opted for ones that felt like tanks on my feet) because I have found myself on the ground unexpectedly a time or two due to my aggressive movement on the court, I was apprehensive about trusting minimalist shoes on the tennis court. Nevertheless, when the 360s were released after over a year of me wearing minimalist shoes in other applications, I took the leap and bought them after chatting online with a Xero agent about the 360 vs. the Kelso. I started to wear them for tennis practice sometimes. It took a bit of adjustment for sure, but when things went fine and I was able to run for balls without issue and without injury for a few months (still interspersed with sometimes wearing my huge, clunky, stiff traditional tennis shoes), I slowly started to wear them for doubles matches as well. I was still hesitant to use them for singles matches where there's more running. However, over the holidays I didn't feel like bringing a clunky pair of tennis shoes home with me to hit with my brother for 2 hrs, so I just wore my 360s, which I occasionally wear casually as well. After that, I realized if I could wear them for a competitive set against my brother (a former 4.5 men's player before he took a break from tennis), I could wear them for my other matches too. I haven't looked back since. In hindsight, I'm glad I made a gradual transition, wearing minimalist shoes for a year to strengthen my feet and ankles, then slowly introducing the 360s while also sometimes wearing traditional tennis sneakers. I have a feeling my feet wouldn't have been ready for it if I just suddenly started wearing these on the court 2 years ago. But I'm really happy to have made the transition - the zero drop minimalist style really helps with responsiveness, and I'm happy I've done the work to make my feet and ankles responsible for their own stability instead of relying on wearing tanks on my feet which would sometimes make my feet cramp after matches from how stuff they were. I hope Xero never discontinues the 360s because they have changed my tennis life and I never want to go back to wearing the traditional stiff tennis sneakers again.
Aimlessly wondering through life, I wasn't sure I would find love again. But my heart burst open when my feet found new freedom in Xero shoes!I've never liked traditional shoes as I feel they are constantly squeezing my midfoot and toes. I would sit at my desk at work and open the laces to relieve the pressure while I was sitting, or take my shoes off. Somewhere along the way, I bought into the marketing for running shoes, but struggled with foot pain and shin splints that had never had issues with before. Growing up, I just ran in whatever cheapish shoe was available and didn't think much about it.After an ACL replacement, I struggled with running form. Growing up, I just ran in whatever cheapish shoe was available and didn't think much about it.After an ACL replacement, I struggled with running form. The PT insisted that I run on the treadmill at therapy with a heel strike, which I could not find comfortable or natural. I went home and jogged around the neighborhood and came back and told him that I'm not a heel striker; I land on my forefoot and only lightly touch my heel. I've since doubted myself and no longer found running enjoyable, constantly trying to tweak my form to feel natural again. I'm a sprinter by nature and generally run like I'm sprinting. I happened to find Born to Run and listend to the audiobook and was convinced that my body knew what it was doing all along. I started running barefoot around the block and my form felt completely natural. I've since ordered several pairs of Xero shoes, the 360 being my first pair as an all around gym/run/workout shoe. This is probably my favorite shoe so far and I wear them daily, though I did get a pair of HFS specifically for running and have already logged a 5k race this year. And, thanks to Steven's videos, I now know about Master's Track and Field and am looking into sprinting later this year.
I have a pair of Prioâs that I love - theyâre what keep bringing me back.I wanted to get another pair of shoes for the gym and I wanted to try more Xeroâs product - I started with a pair of HFS size 12. But per the website they suggest ordering up a 1/2 size. When I got the HFSâs - great shoe - but I thought it was too long in the toe for me - personal call, but it was a bit too much - but you pay for $hipping (to return a pair of shoes)Also - you canât wear them outside, you canât use them - you have to make an instant decision or youâre buying them - or pay to ship them back.âŚso, ok - I sent them back.I went back to the Xero site - really studied everything, should I get another of Prioâs because I know I love ... MoreI have a pair of Prioâs that I love - theyâre what keep bringing me back.I wanted to get another pair of shoes for the gym and I wanted to try more Xeroâs product - I started with a pair of HFS size 12. I mean for what I want them for, which was a shoe that I could take to the gym that would have a little more support than the Prio, but still feel like a Xero shoe - this is a great shoe. I love the way it grabs my heel and I feel the support along the side of the shoe (more than the Prio).However. Because I had ordered up for the HFS, I went back to 11.5 for the 360âs. And theyâre fine. But I know that Iâd rather have a size 12 in the 360âs. But then Iâd have to pay for the shipping again..My honest review is Xero makes great shoes but itâs not a great experience buying from them online and I donât think Iâll âbranch outâ trying new shoes based on this experience. If I were ever to stumble upon a retail store (? Whatâs that?) that had the complete line of Xeroâs - maybe REI? (Havenât looked), Iâd go nuts and try on everything. And if I confidently knew my sizes Iâd keep getting Xero shoes online.
Seriously. Amazing shoe. The best Iâve ever worn. A quick note about sizing, though. Xeroâs site says âorder your usual sizeâ - and you can do that if youâd like. BUT, I wear a size 11 in most shoes. New Balance safety shoes at work, LEMS hiking boots, Hey Dudes - all size 11.0. That said, this is an 11.5 all day every day for me - and I have three pair. FWIW, Iâm also an 11.5 in the Mesa Trail runner and the HFS - but Iâm an 11.0 in the Prio. Hoping that helps someone whoâs reading these reviews looking for sizing comparisons. Now for the shoe - if youâre looking for something for running anywhere past general WOD distances, this one probably wonât fit snugly enough to make you happy. Or, at least, I prefer shoes that are going to be running for miles at a time to fit snugly - for me, thatâs the HFS on the road and the Mesa TR for the dirt (I live in AZ...itâs mostly dirt). For everything else, itâs fantastic. Squats, deadlifts (any OLY lift, really), box jumps and all that - it just works. I do love my Prio shoes, too - but for me these just work better. Maybe itâs in my head, maybe not - but the 360 just fits and looks the part. For grins, I tried on my old Nanos and Metcons the other week (like other CrossFit athletes, I have entirely too many of both of those) and the amount of padding and structure they have around the heel in particular made me feel like I was in ski boots. No bueno. I started wearing Xero shoes when the wife and I moved to AZ almost three years ago and now theyâre mostly all Iâll wear - my feet just prefer the natural feel.Tons of verbiage and all kinds of writing to say this - you canât go wrong with any Xero shoe. You just canât. If youâre a functional fitness athlete whoâs looking for a zero drop, minimalist alternative to whatâs out there now - youâll love the 360. I promise. Just drop the coin and give them a shot. The fit, the finish, the stretchy laces that donât come untied, the tension straps that help snug the shoe around your foot without being too tight (I have high arches, so this is usually an issue for me) and the overall look of the shoe equal the one that gets the most time on my feet, by far.I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
I have been playing tennis for a majority of my life (30+ years) and these shoes have been the most comfortable to play in my entire life. Thank you so much XeroShoes for having such flexible AND sturdy shoes that are ergonomic to the human body and allows you to function with proper form with my extracurricular activity. I've attempted other mainstream brands (Adidas, Asics, and even New Balances) known for their wide toe boxes. And to be honest, I still felt like my halluces and the rest of my toes were constricted. I would still get calluses! After making the switch, I feel much more stable on the ground and those annoying/uncomfortable (yet protective, thank you body) calluses take much longer to form.It not only allows for 360 degree movement while you're on ... MoreI have been playing tennis for a majority of my life (30+ years) and these shoes have been the most comfortable to play in my entire life.
