I have to top of the line desktop computers. My first one has an Nvidia 3080 ti card. I game and do artificial intelligence on that machine. When building the second machine I decided to try out an AMD GPU for half the price. What shocked me when trying out this GPU is great it is for half the price of my Nvidia card. In fact, I noticed zero improvement when gaming on the Nvidia 3080 ti vs the AMD rx 6700 XT. So I am a fan now of this card. It is a fantastic value if your into gaming, graphic design, 3D modeling and video editing. It’s only weakness is that it is not supported in TensorFlow for AI.

Plagued with constant yet inconsistent driver crashes. I can't even depend on my system to be on when I need it to since the AMD drivers can crash at any time. Just google "RX 6700XT crash" and you'll see many patterns of driver problems. I wish I had bought the technically inferior RTX 3060TI when it was also $400. But then I was blissfully unaware of how abhorrent AMD's drivers are for fhe games I play. It's awful. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this and all other AMD graphics cards until the company has resolved its myriad driver erros, crashes, and inconsistencies. The price is not worth it, as I have discovered. At least it looked good on paper, I suppose?

Finally moved to Team Red from Team Green. Had been looking to upgrade from a 1070 Ti for a long time. Finally bit the bullet when this was on deal and had some e-gift cash on my account. Picked it up from store and man, this card is big! It barely made it into my case. I had previously removed my Nvidia card and uninstalled all older drivers so the installation went smoothly. I still think AMD need to improve on their application though - Nvidia control panel was so easy to use when switching, turning off certain monitors etc. This card has been good for gaming though - I get steady 60 fps on ultra settings on all games I play.
I’ve been a crypto miner for years, dont listen to all the people talking about mining coming to an end; it’s far from over. This card gets 25.25mH on Ravencoin’s kawPOW algo pulling 88watts. That is the MOST efficient card on available as of today (September 6th). Its gross revenue per 24 hours is $1.08 per day at this current time, and electricity costs at $0.10 per kwh are $0.2112 makinf your daily profit $0.83 and an ROI of 521 days at $433 cost. So, you might want to try to get a used card for $300 flat if you’re trying to get into crypto mining for the first time, but for an OG miner like myself that plays with house money from cards that ROI’d a long time ago, i enjoy picking these up and having fun with them :)
I finally got and installed the XFX SWFT 6700 XT tonight. I have a Ryzen 2700X, ASUS Strix B450-Itx mobo, 32GB 3200 RAM, 1TB Samsung 970 EVO, and upgraded from a Sapphire Pulse 5600 XT. While not the ideal hardware for this card, I did see some huge improvements over the 5600 XT. The biggest FPS jump I seen so far was in Resident Evil 3 Remake, which went from 90-95 FPS (5600 XT) to hitting 160-165 FPS with the 6700 XT (145 FPS in heavy action)- both cards were running it maxed at 1440p. It runs about 5-10C warmer than the 5600 XT. Hottest temps I seen so far was 71C GPU & 91C junction temp when playing Sword and Fairy 7, which is extremely GPU intensive (supposedly that game even gives cards like the 3080 TI a workout). Hottest temps I seen so far was 71C GPU & 91C junction temp when playing Sword and Fairy 7, which is extremely GPU intensive (supposedly that game even gives cards like the 3080 TI a workout). There are some games I play that have frame rates locked at 60 FPS and those games used to push the 5600XT at 98-99% GPU usage in 1440p. After upgrading to this 6700 XT, I upped things like Render Resolution (1.2 to 1.5) and anisotropic filtering (4x to 8x). The XFX 6700 XT card seems to be running in the mid 50C range and to low 60C GPU temps, while running at 70-80% GPU usage and keeping things running smooth at a locked and steady 60FPS. On the 5600XT, the same game at those settings would run at low 40s FPS along with some stuttering. As for the fans, they are not audible to me. The CPU fan on the AMD Wraith Prism cooler is the loudest fan in that case and easily drowns out all other fan sounds. I have not heard any sound differences between the idle and intense gaming sounds coming from the case. All in all, I am pleased with the 6700 XT. I play at only 1440p, which was a bit much for the 5600 XT I had been using since February 2020. It was nice to finally get smooth and high frame rates in 1440p. I am impressed because I am using a Ryzen 2700X and a B450 motherboard in an ITX case (InWin A1 Plus with a 650W gold PSU).
After using the Radeon RX6700 XT video card, I'm really impressed with it's reaction to gameplay and how it works in a business situation. The video is very sharp and clear. I have not noticed any lags since I've updated my drivers. The control panel that AMD gives with it, is very intuitive and simple to use and the preset settings work great. I give this graphic card five stars and recommend it to anyone. One final thought, with Dragon Age Origins, I had to tweak the card a little bit but the game runs great on high resolution and the graphics is so lifelike with such an old game.
***This review is for the 6700XT in general, not the specific XFX model since it works and doesn’t have any issues :)**** The 6700XT is what I needed to push me out of console-level performance but not pull me into the crazier side of the GPU market of prices > $400. Yet the 6700XT is able to comfortably drive my 1440P monitor > 120 FPS in either AAA games (e.g., MW2) or heavily modded classics (e.g., FO4 and Skyrim). I have had the privilege of using the 6900XT for a time and I genuinely do not believe your day-to-day experience gaming on the 6700XT is significantly more inferior to the 6900XT. If you are wanting to shoot for OC records ala GamersNexus or Der8auer, the 6700XT isn’t for you. For anyone who just wants a good time gaming, this card is for you.
Happy to get these gpus at retail and in stock, it’s sad that they didn’t happen until the next gen cards are announced. But huge improvement over my msi 5700 xT. Running 32gb 3600 ram with sabrent 4.0 2 tn ssd and r 7 5800x cpu. Cooked with an next aio. Runs everything I throw at it great. Running at 4K in games I play warzone, rogue company, fortnite well over 100fps. Love it can’t beat price. Careful though first one I bout from Best Buy someone had stolen the card and put an old 6700 in it and resealed it but Best Buy manager took care of it with great service and a promise to check cameras for their employees. Thanks!
Replacing a 7 year-old video card and needing something in a half-hurry, this model's cost/performance ratio was the best compromise. It's 2x as fast as the old card, 192-bit bus instead of 128, there's little to complain about. For general desktop UI use, raw CPU power isn't a thing. For 3D rendering software, some packages will make use of the GPU. Others, like Terragen, won't.Was hoping for a 68x0 or 69x0 being available in-store as these are better-suited for 4K gaming, but the 6700 series is definitely not a slouch for the price and still allows decent 4k entertainment for older games...The 6700 is meant to shine in 2.5K (2560x1440), which is still impressive. Even at 4K, it's more than passable. For modern games, some titles perform better on the AMD ... MoreReplacing a 7 year-old video card and needing something in a half-hurry, this model's cost/performance ratio was the best compromise. Even at 4K, it's more than passable. For modern games, some titles perform better on the AMD series than other brands. It's the other way around for others.Older games that recognize the full 4k resolution this card offers will probably still fly far faster than on older video cards, but newer games will generally be slower on this card compared to the 6800 or higher. Some exceptions exist and tech websites comparing the two will compare the 6700 with higher end AMDs and competing brands - sometimes with pleasantly surprising results but depressing in others. It depends on the game.If nothing else, for the price and wattage difference, 30fps is sweet and modern 4K TV sets can upscale 1080P content really nicely for the most part. 230w vs 300w or more is significant. If you're happy with 55~65fps at 4K resolution depending on game, or far faster at lower res and letting the monitor process the image for what will amount to ~80% of the same quality, this card will suffice. At 4K, it may not be as "buttery-smooth" (an interesting yet daft metaphor), but the right type of "margarine-smooth" is A-OK too.I like 30 fps anyway, it's closer to a filmic quality. :)
