The sound from the projector is great for as big as it is, but I have it connected to two large bluetooth speakers (W-King) and it's virtually a movie theater experience in the home, with no noticeable lag on the audio. We have one in the master bedroom, and I just ordered another one for the living room. The projector has no traditional feet so why the stand isn't normally included is a mystery. You'd be stuck with propping the projector up to get it into a usable position. I researched this projector and am surprised this wasn't mentioned. You must link the remote to the projector before it functions. You also shift the pointers around to each corner to manually tweak the keystone adjustments. Could've saved a half hour of stumbling around if these were made clear upfront on a quick start sheet. The picture is great so far.Through Google it automatically found my router and set everything up. Even in a well lit room with lots of windows, the picture still retained much of its quality and that was even projecting on a white wall without a profesionall screen. But I had an Amazon Fire Stick 4K Max on hand and plugged it and I am happy to say I have had no issues. The Xgimi remote even controls the fire stick so no need to have the 2 remotes. Although I purchased specifically for my golf sim, I will be using this to hold future movie nights in the back yard. The sound quality indoors is not bad, turned up half way is plenty loud for my space. Unsure how it will sound outdoors, but overall a good edition to the projector. If you're on the fence, try it out. If you're like me and want something affordable for a golf simulator then I say go for it.

Great projector, lots of features and versatile!

We have been in the market for a 4K projector for a while now and had a hard time deciding. We have a dedicated 1080p projector in our lower level that is almost 13 years old. It is only a matter of time before it goes. This new projector has a lot of features and versatility for a reasonable price that met our criteria. The criteria: 4K resolution, built in streaming apps, ability to be moved from room to room. The price point for such features are unmatched. The projector has a self alignment and auto focus feature that makes placement a breeze. It is not done optically but digitally so you lose some pixels. It doesn't seem to hinder image quality in the slightest. We stream movies and play video games on it. It runs on Android software so you can download apps from the Google Play store and there lots of options. We can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can set it up outside for drive in movies and games. It has been a lot of fun for our family. This projector is been so easy to use and we couldn't be happier with our purchase.

Unknown Brand, Fantastic Results

I had been looking for a projector that can handle 4k input for ages the restrictions of the room mean I need something that can handle of centre placement. After a lot of research I chose an Epson tw7100. This was a mistake. The first projector throwed a flickering image the replacement was incapable of focusing across the image. No worries though as the staff at Richer Lichfield stepped up to help. They recommended the Xgimi Horizon Pro. I was really dubious at first as it's not as bright as the Epson and has no zoom or lens shift, and it's an unknown brand. Wow was I wrong to be worried. This small cube of a projector is a magic box that makes the Epson look old fashioned. In a dark environment the projector works out it's position digitally zooms the picture in/out, focus and applies keystone. The resulting picture is the sharpest I have seen on a projector. It looks like you are looking at a glass pane in front of a 4k TV.Now this is not the best projector for manual adjustment so if you are particular on colour then it's not the one for you. If ,like me, you are happy with preset modes don't want to faff then it totally is the PJ for you. As well as a fabulous sharp and colourful image the Xgimi handles blacks really well. Now that statement comes with a caveat... The blacks are deep but lack range so sometimes dark scenes blacks and shadows can merge. At this price point that's no deal breaker and I would say the range is better than I experienced with the Epson. This is an Android TV projector, so the initial set up requires a Google account, with out one you can't use the pj.The built is speakers are great but I'm using with a full 5.2.1 system and Apple TV. So have no need for the apps or speakers. I can see how that would be useful for those that want to move it around.Top tip. Xgimi have included a tripod mount so positioning is super easy. They also sell a table top mount that's pricey but oozes style. If you use the Xgimi with extensive key stone you get a slanting light outline several ft around the image. This is natural to DLP so cannot be removed and Xgimi don't provide a shutter restriction to counter this. I've got used to it.It's most happiest with 4k content, watching Top Gun in HD exposes its flaws in handling lower quality content. It's not bad but not good eitherLast up I will talk about the digital zoom. It used to be that any mention of digital zoom would send you running , crying that the image is erm..pants, not on the Xgimi. The digital zoom works miracles and the image is pin sharp no matter the zoom used. How they have done is ,I don't know but , well done themOverall what this little projector does from a brand that is unknown is incredible. I would say try it out , seeing is believing

[Rewarded Review] A nice projector with a couple small catches.

A nice projector, but a couple of things that could have easily been improved. First, let me start by saying, the build quality of this projector is really pretty nice. It is solid, feels somewhat weighty in your hands. And it isn't a bunch of cheap plastic. The features that this projector has, such as auto focus are very much appreciated. And the fact it is 4K native with auto keystone is also nice. But for me, I found the auto keystone in my case would not work at all, it put the projected image clear up on my ceiling, instead of my very nice projector screen. And I cannot figure out why it kept doing that. Maybe I have a semi defective unit? I don't know to be honest. But for me, I found the auto keystone in my case would not work at all, it put the projected image clear up on my ceiling, instead of my very nice projector screen. And I cannot figure out why it kept doing that. Maybe I have a semi defective unit? I don't know to be honest. As reviews online, showed this auto keystone feature work flawlessly for multiple people. The sound the unit puts out is decent to good, for what it is. But clearly, if you intend to use this as a home theatre projector, then you will want to upgrade. Personally, I have a very nice Sony: 7.2.2 system paired with it and it is absolutely brilliant. The projector is definately bright enough for night time viewing. And even sunset and sunrise viewing. Although, I wasn't overly impressed with the daytime viewing with blinds open. It is really not any brighter in person, then the Viewsonic Pro 8200 1080P system I was upgrading from. Which has been an absolute workhorse for me for years. I also found that the pictures, brightness and contrast very comparable on both units on anything that was 1080P content and below. Which is disappointing, considering my Pro 8200 was purchased nearly 10 years ago and for $550. Where this, even on sale crossed the $1,500 mark. So really, what I was paying for was the 4K and the HDR. As well as 3D playback. My first 4K movie I played with it was "The Batman", on 4K disc. And because that movie is so dark, with very little color, I was not impressed with the extremely minor differences in resolution and HDR upgrade over my Viewsonic. But I blame most of that on the movie itself. So next, I wanted to play some streaming content in 4K. And this is where I ran into some real problems. Because this projector is not certified for 2.1 over HDMI, only 2.0 HDMI, so it cannot be used to play 4K content over Roku. Period. Roku is set up this way, for copyright protection. I have looked for ways to do this. Or bypass this copy protection certification and so far have found no solution. I can even get 4K 60 FPS to display on the setup screen. But as soon as you go to content, it kicks it back to 1080P 30 FPS, every single time. So I read and read online. And this is how I found out this projector is not 2.1 HDMI certified. This is a major blow to my happiness with the projector. As now I am limited to only streaming in 1080P through Roku for all my content, which is where I was for the last 10 years before I spent $1500. Xgimi needs to correct this moving forward, as this is a serious holdback on an otherwise very nice projector. The picture overall color wise, contrast wise and lumens wise, for the money is very nice. And you can natively stream on the Xgimi in 4K on their Youtube app. And it is beautiful. So as long as you can play discs, use their native apps. You are good to go. But I do a ton of viewing through my Roku units. So this stinks for me. Also, one complaint about the remote is lack of backlight. For an otherwise very nice and very simple remote, there simply isn't any excuse for this in 2022. None.... Again, my 10 plus year old Viewsonic remote is more complete and backlit. So in conclusion, you are getting an almost perfect entry level 4K projector with this unit. With the exception of the non backlit remote. And the unit not having HDMI 2.1. Along with a slightly weaker than anticipated lumens. And an auto keystone for me, that just never worked properly, so I had to manually adjust it every time and turn off auto keystone in the menu, or it messes the screen up, every time I turn the projector on. Which takes about 3-5 minutes to manually correct each time it messes up the screen. Can I recommend the upgrade for $1500-$1800? Well, that depends. You can easily get 4K projectors for under $1K now. a few models actually. But they have many less features. And most are not true 4K. They are usually all some sort of pixel shifting technology. If you are coming from a 720P or less projector, my answer is a definitive yes, this is worth it.If you are coming from something similar to my Viewsonic Pro 8200 which simply holds its own against this for about 1/3 the cost, then I would say no. And a pretty firm no. I would recommend that exact unit for the time being. Because it is such a good buy. I have over 7K hours on my Viewsonic. And the only thing I did was change the bulb in all that time, for literally $28. And the bulb was still working at 6K hours. Just starting to get dimmer. And I did blow out the dust from inside. But that is it. It has absolutely been very well worth the $550 I paid for it brand new.Had I known these shortcomings before I purchased this projector, I would have likely held off for a while longer. For an updated model. Or for these updates to be made to this model. I do like the projector a lot. But I just found myself being less excited than I had been expecting to be for a long time, after researching projectors in this price range. I do think for the money, it literally is the best option available right now. And I did research many units and brands. But it still is not quite that perfect high end, entry level 4K, yet. I will likely keep this unit for a good while. As I am not someone who has to upgrade every single year to the newest and greatest. But I will also keep my Viewsonic, either for outside parties. Or put it in one of my other rooms in my home. But it has been such a good projector, I cannot simply just get rid of it. Which brings me to my last point. The Xgimi runs super quiet. Like 1/3 as loud as the Viewsonic. That is one area where it is vastly superior. The noise floor on it, is miles ahead of my old unit.

[Rewarded Review] Best project I've ever had
21 February 2024

I am an oil painter, and I've done research on projector that allows me to trace my artwork without any pixelation involved. I've seen this specific projector recommended by many websites as one of the best that is used for tracing. I decided to give in and purchase one just to see if it lives up to the potential and it has. I am able to trace my artwork when I plug my computer in and see many details than I would have on my nebula projector. I personally recommemd this projector, especially if you are an artist and looking for a device that allows you to trace clearly. It is well worth the price tag.

[Rewarded Review] Great Purchase!
8 June 2023

Very clear, quality picture that adjusts to multiple angles, which allows the projector to be placed in a number of different places in relation to the screen (my projector is about ~3 feet above the screen). Auto or manual adjustments allow you to focus the picture to match given different angles between screen and projector. Very convenient when space is limited. User interface is very intuitive and simple to use. Easy to screen mirror using the Android apps available for any content not loaded on the device (iPad app for golf simulator). Great speaker for just running music through as well. Great projector, highly recommend.
