But sadly, the reason I purchased it - for the longer distance and the ability to climb 20% gradient roads has been a little oversold by PB.It can climb a 20% grad hillBut VERY slowly (I’m under their tested weight limit too)And then when you’re under 50% battery… the thing hardly moves - you’d be faster to walk the scooter up the hill.All in all, lessons learnt for the next scooter. I've been using this scooter for a couple weeks now and it's running great. My neighborhood has a couple hills I was worried about but it is able to make the climb. It does slow down substantially but at least I don't have to get off and push.Pros are the front light and flashing break light. The tires are also real tires and not pieces of plastic so that helps the ride be smoother (although it's still a bit bumpy at times but there's not a lot of room for a great suspension system).Cons are lack of turning signals like the Beam scooter I've ridden on. I own a ninebot g30lp and recently bought the xiaomi(on sale). I also had a zero 8 clone that had to be returned.The ninebot and xiaomi share similar features and hardware. Probably made in the same factory. They are great quality.The xiaomi would be better suited for lighter riders. It has a lot less power despite the "up to 600w motor" claim than the ninebot. It's a relatively flat lands scooter where the ninebot will climb hills with a 200lb rider. These 2 brands are unlikely to burn your house down whilst charging.Despite it's lackluster performance the little xiaomi is fun to whip around with. It's very smooth and quiet. Battery is good and will go the distance. Fitting solid tyres could be the way forward, but it affects the handling and grip of the scooter, making it nervous. Living in the UK with potholes all over the place, I'd recommend to keep them on pneumatic tyres to get some form of cushioning from the bumps. Not waterproof, bottom battery cover panel is only IP54 rated, so you need to avoid riding in puddles and when raining. UK's climate isn't best suited to these things. A well made scooter and represents good value if you can get a discount off the RRP.

The scooter also goes very fast downhill sometimes up to 27, 28ks an hour - so be careful!Anyway as for the downsides:- You need to avoid updating the firmware as Xiaomi has removed cruise control as of 2.2.9.- The scooter has no suspension so it is very rough sometimes.- The scooter only has one form of brake - the disc brake.- The bluetooth on the Xiaomi home app disconnects constantly.- Language settings make no sense sometimes - why is it in spanish?- It isn't waterproof so you cannot ride in the rain.You just need to be aware of pedestrians, the footpaths and speed. Check your local laws.

Great scooter

very well built scooter and easy to operate. good battery life too! would be 5/5 but it requires the xiaomi app to get the most out of it (faster speeds, lock the scooter, regen braking, etc), charging is slow (roughly 10-15% per hour), and the charging port cover, while magnetic, often comes loose so water and dirt can get in. i put some tape over mine and need to peel it off when i want to charge. wish it was more secure.haven't had to change a tire yet so don't know easy/difficult that is but it comes with a spare tire/inner tube. my tires have already tiny little cracks in them but it's not affecting riding the scooter and the tire is still inflated so not a problem really. i think i will be buying a few extra tires/tubes just in case though!

I took a long time to decide what scooter to get. I'm 5'8", 125 pounds, and have a small hernia so can't lift the heavy scooters. The Xiaomi Pro 2 is perfect for me - I can lift it up and down a flight of stairs, carefully, though not with ease - and it has the range I need, and is easy and comfortable to operate. Prior to buying the Xiaomi, I rented a Segway (now the owners of Xiaomi) to see if I liked e-scooters, and I did. I like the Xiaomi even better than the Segway, maybe because of the Xiaomi's pneumatic tires.
