Connectivity not reliable. Upon installation, either the Yale app or the Home app cannot find the lock. After several tries and factory resets, the lock was finally added. However, the remote control never works. I have a Homepod as a homekit hub, but it keeps saying that the lock is not responding. Yale tech support is useless. Only thing they could do is to send me the replacement modules. I tried the replacement module but still the same issue. Had to return the module. Will try the August module instead.

Easy add-on to a Yale lock and very much worth it!

This was an option to add to an "older" Yale lock. The original lock plus the price of this module was still less expensive than the newer lock that already has this function built in -- about $40 less.Installation was a snap. I finished it in less than 10 minutes. Got it connected to my iPhone and to the Home app right after. Easily done. My only petty critique is that I will brush up against the lock after opening the door, which will then cause the deadbolt to engage. Again, a small thing, but it's convenient when my hands are full.

Easy to install and works great

Was a little worried given some of the reviews but the Yale Assured SL installed in the new front easily and luckily without need to modify or adjust the door. Inserting the iM1 Network module (purchased separately) was a breeze. Instructions are comprehensive for both components and need to be followed very carefully. With the assistance of the Yale Secure app, BT communication was quickly established with the lock and then the integration with Apple Home was flawless. Home looks after basic functions like lock and unlock, and any sensor based automation. Codes, settings and entry/exit log require the Yale app.A couple of tips: 1).The deadbolt must slide in and out freely without pressure on the door. Any resistance at all will cause a jamb error when operated ... MoreWas a little worried given some of the reviews but the Yale Assured SL installed in the new front easily and luckily without need to modify or adjust the door. I noticed that direct sun on my steel clad door must bend it slightly since I was getting some jamb errors under those conditions. The lock was still secure but wasn’t fully seating. 2) When updating the firmware in the lock (recommended), turn off the phone’s auto-lock, rest the phone on something within a foot of the lock and be prepared for a lengthy wait while the update is downloaded and installed on the lock. Be patient.

HomeKit version a dud
11 May 2022

To be fair, the hardware does what it should, with reliable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections that allow access to the lock through HomeKit. What they don’t tell you is that the iM1 module eliminates compatibility with the Yale Access app, which allows access to advanced features like unlock when near, door sense, and management of access codes (scheduling access, setting codes to expire, etc.). Instead you manage setup with the inferior Yale Secure app, which doesn’t support those features. Some of those options should be available through the Apple Home app- but it turns out that they are only implemented for SOME HomeKit-compatible smart locks, and NOT the Yale Assure. Lots of features are advertised by Yale, and lots by Apple, but with this setup you get access to ... MoreTo be fair, the hardware does what it should, with reliable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections that allow access to the lock through HomeKit. It failed 3 times already.

I bought this one with Yale lock SL. It worked well for a few months. Then one day no battery for the lock. After the batteries installed, I could not connect to my iphone any more. I contact the manufacture, and tried all ways even replace half the lock. It still not working. They sent me second iM1. The second one worked for a few months then failed again. I got the third, fail again....I do not know what can I do. It have been almost two years. 3 im1 failed. Please select the other product....

Keeps dying
26 July 2021

Bought 2 of those, and returned the first one which died after a few months. Second one died 6 months later. The second one purchased (because off warranty) died 3 months later. Yale told me to purchase a new lock instead, not a great user experience...

I have 2 of these and just gave 1 as a christmas gift. I had my 2 for almost 3 years and both have never failed to respond. Its not unconmon for Siri to say a device didnt respond but these are 100% reliable.

Works perfectly. Installation couldn’t have been more simple. Also arrived at Lowe’s earlier than expected. Very pleased!

Will not work with Yale Real Living Assure Twist and Go model YRD446
24 September 2018

Despite being advertised as being compatible with the Yale Assure Lock, buyer beware. Contact Yale Technical support with your exact model and ask them which wireless network module your unit requires. They have unique network modules for each model! Very frustrating for consumers that think they are interchangeable. This one ONLY WORKS WITH THE current store model sold in the store Yale Assure Lock SL. Nothing else. It will not work with the Nest x model either.

Worst WIFI Lock on the Market
26 August 2020

This will work for a few months then fail. Yale needs to upgrade the app and also redesign this module to work with Apple HomeKit. Don’t buy the lock or this module. The only thing worse is the support and customer service from YALE as well.
