I bought the speakers for an outdoor enclosed patio area. The speakers are well made and look great. I use them with a Yamaha receiver which is connected to a TV and CD player. Everything sounds fantastic. I like the fact that Yamaha designed them so you could mount them in many different ways to accommodate your specific situation.They are mounted in a well protected area from the elements, but I hope that they will withstand the temperature differences between our hot humid Texas summers and occasional below freezing temperatures in winter. Only time will tell.

These are outdoor speakers, making them weather proof means youo can't expect the finest sound quality possible, plus outdoors stuck on the side of a garage doesn't make for the best acoustics there are. Having said that the sound these produce is actually pretty good, plus they need to be turned up to a pretty high volume before you start getting distortion. For our purposes, providing music out in the garden for parties or for when we are working out there, they are more than good enough. Installing them was pretty easy too. Being able to fasten the brackets to the wall first, then attach the speaker to the brackets meant the who job of hanging them and connecting the wires only took 10 minutes (plus the time to run the wires back to the amplifier of course. I bought these speakers for an outside patio deck that is attached to my house. These speakers look good, were easy to install and most importantly--sound great. I am very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone needing an audio feed to an outdoor living area.
